- Heres a more detailed look on how the 2 versions are compared side by side along with 3-Angled Blue's original comic to show the scenes that were adapted into animation.
if you're wondering why the new version does not really sync up with the original, its cause the original has timming that does not suit my new animating technique, so I had to extend and shorten the different scenes to compensate of the new detailed animation for the scenes.it all finally sync up at /trv/'s scene.

some questions to answer after receiving general feedback from /v/ and everyone else here.
1)no /v/egazord scene
I dropped /v/egazord cause I want to try to come up with a fight scene. back when I did this, /v/egazord was basically filler to pad out the run time of the song to ease animation and also save me from choreographing an elaborate fight scene from scratch.
love or hate the new fight scene I came up with today for the remake, I treated it as practice on trying to direct a fight scene as its a medium I've not touched for a long time. So it was something I wanted to try out again.
if it makes any better, there is plans to do /v/rage:/v/egazord edition down the road in the future when I'm up for practicing my animation skills in animating a Japanese Mecha combination sequence.
2)slow, floaty animation, original was fast paced.
I kinda actually animated to the beat and tempo of the music which was actually slow paced. so the whole fight scenes shown kinda felt floaty and slow due to new animation techniques I'm trying out. Alot of the scenes shown in this is me still learning how to frame and time my animation. After all, I'm self-taught in animation and never went to an animation school to learn animating.

As in after all of the sonichus fled. By the way, that was a totally original and not stolen OC. Other then that, the recreation was amazing with all new references and such,(but if you want specify, it was the fetish part.)

I don't exactly know why but I have so much respect for 4chan with all of the feats that they've been able to accomplish and stuff like the original /v/ rage comic and the animated versions give me a sense of nostalgia for something that I wasn't even there for

The 2008 version packed more energy and have that rip and tear vibe to it
The 2017 version is more smooth and dynamic, it also capture the rage emotions perfectly

@@rentoni6373 Agreed, the old one may have less impressive animations, but it was far more edgy like 4chan is, + was not afraid of blood etc.
Really loved both the old and new. I find the new better and this comparison definitely shows how much you have improved (which is tremendous). I love your animations and really, thanks for taking a lot of effort and time to create the remake.

Those were the good old days.
First one was fast and intense and the second one is more detailed and heavy. I like them both in there own way.
I like the style of the First one more, and it held a bit more meaning (or lack of meaning) to old 4chan. However the new one has some wonderful animation and I'm in love with the shark battle. Thanks for the revamp of an old vid.
The animation certainly has improved.
However, to give you some feedback, I'm just going to say that the scene direction was a little off from before; the fact that the action doesn't have really as much punch as the chickenscratch animation because the quality needed to stiffen everything up. You also pushed yourself a lot harder before in the previous animation to see to it that these faces convey the extreme emotions of what happens to get overrun by shitposters. In short, you were doubting your ability to go EXTREME. It's something you might want to work on. Don't let your technical ability stop you from getting the exact vibe and feeling of the concept. Hey but what do I know.

it's so awesome seeing how much you've improved! the original and 4chan city were some of my first introductions to flash animation on the web. i can't believe it's been over 10 years already!

cant recall really, I assume it was over a span of weeks.... it was hastily animated.

Something i've gotta give the original is the amount of brutality and /v/-tan's face looking far more angry than the remake.
I loved the animation way back when, and I didn't even understand any of it since I wasn't a channer, I just enjoyed the choreography of it all. I didn't realize you made the original either, seeing it reborn and remade is a really wonderful thing. You outdone yourself, NHC. Good work!

Holy shit. I love how all three had a good mix of memes and pop culture. The animation was great in both versions, and the explosion scene was captured so well. But the comic takes the cake for me XD I just loved the style it was perfect. This is coming from an animator

after watching the 2008 version i finally understand the story behind the animation.
Mind you this is coming from a curious "normie" who saw the 2017 version and didn't understand what was happening, even though i recognized most of the memes that were in it.

which is why the 2008 version was remade cause theres just so much little errors and inconsistencies in the animation.

New style is good clean artwork just felt that it didn't live up to the speed of wanting to wreck everything in the original version, but good job !
partly the reason why it isnt "up to speed" was that I animated and sync the animation to the tempo and cues to the rap music, which was actually pretty slow, hence the "slow down" animation.

The remake closer to the original comic and far superior in it's animation, while the original animation (praise be) is better at conveying emotion via exaggerated movements and facial expressions.

not really, the music was claimed by a japanese music company too.
I personally felt that the introduction of memes (especially the deal with it one, and to a lesser extent triggered) really broke the flow of the animation. THings like the cheeto hand are great because they're not so jarring and make sense.

I really like the HD one. It could be nostalgia clouding my vision because I still prefer the OG one over the HD but then again I'm not a big fan of refrances to memes and over hyped games too. Then again my humor and taste might be shit because the sonichu apocolyps ending gets me for some reason. All in all good remake.
