When Physical Graffiti first got announced that it was in production, my god the longest wait I’ve ever had to endure but man, to this very day it’s still my favourite album by miles.
This is an absolutely amazing blues rock song with horn dog lyrics, lol. The harp solo is just sick and bonzo just killing the drums. A top five Zeppelin track for yours truly. Nice reaction!!
There are few drummers who had his power; few drummers who had his technique; and few drummers who had his groove. Further, there may only be one other who was his equal in all three (Neil Peart). He inspired every rock musician (not simply drummers) who lived after 1968. A personal hero of mine since I was 13, and Rolling Stone’s number one rock and roll drummer of all time. I want to celebrate the life and career of the great John Henry Bonham, who tragically passed away 41 years ago tomorrow, ending the career of one of the most significant bands of all time. They were top 3 or 4, depending on who you ask, and number 1 in my book. Rest in Peace old friend. I am inspired by your music every single day of my life, and have been for over 30 years.
Depending on the Zeppelin track, you could ask: why are they so funky, why are they so soulful, why are they so heavy, why are they so mellow etc etc 🥰
@@jerrywoods4066 I love Purple but...idk...idt DP could do Ten Years Gone or In The Light or Friends or Battle of Evermore along with The Wanton Song, Rock & Roll, Carousambra and Achilles Last Stand. They were great but not nearly as versatile...IMO.

Graphitti was one of my favourite albums and I bought it upon release so many years ago when I was a teenager in the 1970's. I'm surprised you would pick this fine tune as an introduction to Led Zeppelin. Nice choice. Cheers mate.
First of all you may call it hard rock...those who know better call it blues. Stair Way is great, and so is Lotta love is, but come on! I think that’s as far as far as you knowledge of Zep goes! 🤨
I used to listen to Led Zeppelin as a kid on the radio. All the same old mainstream songs they always play over and over. Then, when Napster came out...(the O.G. Napster) I found this song. It BLEW my mind!! Listened to this entire album for weeks. That's when I realized I had been cheated by listening to the radio for half my life.
You HAVE to try TOMMY BOLIN. "Dreamer"; "Post Toastee"; "Wild Dogs" and when he was in The James Gang "Alexis", a song that Tommy wrote and sang. He wrote most ALL of the 2 CDs of The James gang with Tommy Bolin.

Far and away the best reaction to this song ever. Love that you get the true meaning of the lyrics. Sexay! But tasteful. Check out Son House "death Letter Blues"
I have to laugh because our wife seems so innocent and then she just blurted out what he's hungry for. When Robert said, "save me a piece of your Custard Pie." The woman should have said, "There's plenty here for everyone. Come get you some." LOL. Lyric by "Clutch"
Love your reaction ♥, lmao. Check out Robert Plant, (Led zeppelin) talking about Elvis. It's a great inview , he tells how they got started and who influenced him to play music.
Every time I hear this song I think of the song "Mickey's Monkey" version by Mothers Finest. If you do reactions to 'local' talent to your area I think you should definitely give MF a listen.
"Mickey's Monkey" was a tune by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. It was later covered by the Young Rascals, and eventually Mother's Finest. MF's version of the song does sound very much like LZ's "Custard Pie", but Physical Grafitti was released in 1975, while MF's version of "Mickey's Monkey" was released in 1977. So, the question remains, who "inspired" whom? Personally, I like to think Smokey inspired them all. 👍😏 ruclips.net/video/mdqIwtYXF54/видео.html

Drop down, baby, let your daddy see Drop down, mama, just dream of me Well, my mama allow me to fool around all night long First few lines says it all.
Led Zep NEVER made a song as filler. EVERY song on EVERY LZ album can stand on it's own. It's difficult to really say 1 LZ album is better than another. For many bands, their first 3 - sometimes 4 - albums are usually their strongest and best. IF a band makes it to their 5th or 6th album, it's usually dictated by the label and sounds generic. Jimmy said nope, not only is this gonna be strong, but its going to be a double album and we're going to run the gamut! To me, the only competition for great album of the 70s is both/either of Bob Seger's live albums, "Nine Tonight" and "Live Bullet"!
Oh yes, baby. The lyrics are unashamedly sexual- check 'em out: Drop down, baby, let your daddy see Drop down, mama, just dream of me Well, my mama allow me to fool around all night long Well, I may look like I'm crazy, I should know right from wrong See me comin', throw your man out the door Ain't no stranger, been this way before See me comin', mama, throw your man out the door I ain't no stranger, I been this way before Put on your night shirt and your morning gown You know by night I'm gonna shake 'em all down Put on your night shirt Mama, and your morning gown Well, you know by night, sure I'm gonna shake 'em all down Shake, shake 'em Your custard pie, yeah, sweet and nice When you cut it, mama, save me a slice Your custard pie, I declare, it's sweet and nice I Like your custard pie When you cut it, mama mama, please save me a slice Chew on a piece of your custard pie Chew on a piece of your custard pie Chew on a piece of your custard pie Chew on a piece of your custard pie Drop down Drop down Drop down Drop down Drop down Drop down Drop down Chew on a piece of your custard pie
