I, like many older Whovians, was brought up reading his Target novelisations and used to be first in line at our school bookshop - foldaway bookshelves on wheels! - and had a trained eye for the Chris Achilleos cover with any of the first three Doctors and the name Terrance Dicks. I think he wrote more of these than any other Target range contributor. Seemed like a nice, jolly chap in his interviews. Very sad to hear that he's gone.
Goodbye Terence Dicks. You're travelling in your heavenly TARDIS writing stories on your eternal type writer never growing old. You will never die. You'll be remembered through every word. Every cliffhanger. Every green monster. Every passage thrills and continues to thrill readers old and new. Somewhere in time and space EVERY Doctor Who ever existed raises a glass to him. And so do all of the Whovians. RIP and thank you for all you did for us. You shaped our childhoods and made adult life bearable
I grew up with his work, part of moulding who i am today. He was and _is_ Who. RIP and thank you for my wonderful, wonderful years and bless you my friend.
The vast majority of people know Terrance from Doctor Who (I've never been a fan and don't like it so I never knew him from that). However, I know of Terrance because of his children's books. I actually got into reading because of his Baker Street Irregular gang stories and his horror stories. I still have a copy of cry Vampire (one of the very best children's vampire stories ever.). His children's books were amazing and very well written and really engrossing. I actually used to get really frightened reading his horror stories. He was such a talented writer. RIP Terrance and thank you so so much for giving me a love of reading and for so many thrilling adventures as a child and teenager.
Early to mid 70s Dr Who had a sort of Hammer Horror vibe and the first 3-4 years of Tom Baker could be quite gothic and most of those years Terrence was involved with the show.
Very sad news this. Robert Holmes is my favourite Dr who writer. But Terrence was very good. Terrence you have now gone to join your fellow wonderfull Dr who talents in the great tardis in the sky. By name Jon pertwee barry letts and Roger Delgado. Goodnight rest in peace god bless you sir. From Michael from Yorkshire and proud of it .
R.I.P. Terrance, he made a huge impact on the world of Doctor Who and he'll always be remembered as probably one of the most iconic contributors to the world of Doctor Who. Lovely chap.
Terrance Dicks: A man who wrote many classic adventures such as The War Games, Horror of Fang Rock and The Brain Of Morbius as well as making thousands of Whovians into readers with his books. He will be missed.
Ed, is there ANY CHANCE AT ALL that I could use this as a sound bite in my podcast this week ? I'm doing a tribute to "Uncle Terry" and this would be wonderful...Hope to hear very soon :D !
A true Doctor Who LEGEND. Thank you for everything, Terrance. You will never be forgotten.
He made a huge contribution to Doctor Who and will be much missed. RIP Terrance.
Rest in Peace Terrance Dicks. So much a part of Doctor Who lore and the legend of Doctor Who as any of the Doctors.

Loved his commentaries on the DVDs. Sad seeing the people of classic Who leaving us as the years go on

RIP and thank you for my wonderful, wonderful years and bless you my friend.
You thought that Ringo Starr looked young for his age so did Terrance Dicks. He looked 30 yrs younger than he was. Blessed with a good set of genes.
R.I.P., Terrance. State Of Decay will always be my most favourite of all your Doctor Who stories. ☮️

A major loss.... So very sad
We'll miss you, Uncle Tel. Time to fish out my copy of Horror of Fang Rock as a personal tribute.
Loved his TV work, loved his Novel work even more.
RIP Terrance Dicks another of the original Doctor Who Crew sadly gone!😞😢😭🇬🇧
Always hoped he’d be allowed a crack at the new series. Whilst he was alive there was hope. The universe is a little darker now.
Rest in piece you legend. The only classic writer that's got a chance of returning is Eric sawood. Please come back to the show Eric.
What a guy.
He seems such a lovely man RIP
RIP Terrance Dicks.
