- This is the first single from the Chicago-based soul group, the 21st Century. "Child" got as high as #71 on the Billboard Soul/R&B chart in 1975. That same year, they released "Remember The Rain", which did slightly better, peaking at #69 on the Soul chart. You paint a picture so well 😱 wow how deep!
I grew up to this song, one of my friends had a singing group and they were singing under my window. I told them damn that was some great singing
😂
Beautiful voices and the instrumentalists were just as awesome---lyrics---on point; unforgettable music
💯💯💯
My absolute favorite song!!!!I had my lil big brother listening to this- we wore this record out!!!!!They were ahead of their time. Music wrapped beautifully around their voices and the words relatable then and now.
This is the cut!! This should be in heavy rotation on ANY "Quiet Storm" show.
💯
This is what I consider to be "lava lite music"! Just oozes along and sparkles beautifully!!
I never heard this during the 20th century but I'm hearing it now in the 21st century.
VOUS AVEZ DEMANDE LE REFRAIN .... NE QUITTEZ PAS
The subject matter sums up a lot of personal feelings...and especially at this present time!
David Allen same 😞

My high school years the best time of my life
menchitty11: I am sorry, you are mistaken, Their first release was "Remember The Rain." It was on Golden Tone Records. It sold so well in the Chicago area alone, selling 2 thousand copies in a 2 week period, that RCA picked it up for national distribution. This was the follow-up, featured on their sole RCA album. Unfortunately, when they moved on to Motown, RCA had copyrighted their name and they had to change their name to 21st Creation, where they had no success since no one associated them with the group that recorded "Remember The Rain." By the way, this song is EXCELLENT, as is their versions of "The Way We Were", "Does Your Mama Know About Me", of course, "Remember The Rain." Interestingly enough, Motown musician and arranger Tom Baird (who co-wrote "Does Your Mama Know About Me") arranged this and future Norman Whitfield assistant Mark Davis, then working out of Chicago, produced the track.
All true except two thousand it was 20,000 copies
This was one of me and my sisters favorite song
PQP....QUE LINDEZA!!
I swear that boy sound like little Michael Jackson. just beautiful voices this song is so beautiful 💋💋💗💗
Katrina Smith can yall stop with the mike jacksons comparisons? I sounded like him too when I was 8
@@anthonytaylor7928 In all fairness, the 2nd lead really did sound just like MJ at this age; I saw them live in Bklyn; back in '75 and their voices would have given the J5 a run for their money....That Midwest/Chitown thing....Kudos to all great singers.
If you think he sounds like Michael Jackson, you should listen to "Misdemeanor" By Foster Sylvers.. Thank me later,😉👌🏾
There may not be anything wrong with being a child at heart, but however, everything's wrong with being a child trapped in a full-grown body!

Hello mate, I've been looking for a good recording of this album fro quite some time now and all I could find was one crackly vinyl recording throughout all of internet believe it or not. You're the first person I found to have an actual clean sounding song from this album. I realize that this is a single vinyl release off of the album but if you do have the entire album could you please upload the whole rip on google drive or something? I realize that this is a lot to ask of a stranger and won't be surprised if you don't respong but I really want to listen to the whole thing with nice audio. You are my last hope otherwise I might have to buy a turntable and hope to find a good condition vinyl and a seller willing to ship to Africa lol.
I really hope you'd get back to me on this but I won't hold it against you if you don't. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
I have located a copy of the 21st Century album, "Ahead Of Our Time". www.funkmysoul.gr/albums-no-review/21st-century-1975-ahead-of-our-time/

This is a baaaaaaaaad song and should have done much better on the charts.
Un correspondant vas vous prendre dans quelques minutes.
Every young kid back then had to subconsciously imitate s young Michael Jackson.
Mj but there where many kids just as good
Noooo subcon to Motown.. .there was a few kid that could sang remember the Jackson did lose to the 5 stair stepts..in a contest for a record dill at Motown wich they turned down n was offered to a 2nd place Jacksons ....not taking anything from
No thats what Motown did make you think of Jackson 5 when you heard a kid group alot of those groups came out before...that like every one saying the slyvers was trying to be like j5...there was once a slyvers 6....before a j5. Just saying
