I attempted this several times with different zippers and the slider will not allow for the extra thickness of the stitches. At best you will have to force it past the stitching and this will eventually cause the repair to fail.
Most likely this colour of thread was ONLY used for demonstration purposes ... so that it would be easier for viewers to clearly see how the repair was done.
Common sense should tell you that a different colour of thread would NEED to be used for demonstration purposes ... otherwise the stitching would not stand out enough for viewers to see the method of repair ! 🙄
Oh, wow! I was filming this exact repair today! 🎉😂😊
Was für eine Überraschung. Danke
This method is fine for a very temporary repair but it wouldn’t withstand much stress and eventually the zip would have to be replaced.
the zipper would have to make contact with the thread and so, yes, very temporary but fine stitching technique similar to leatherwork.
Good video sharing 😀😀❤
Thank you! 🤗
Thank you very much for the informations in your videos. ❤💕 💞 💜 💖 💕
Oh, wow! I also have a shirt with a broken zipper. Luckily, I saw this video and knew how to fix it. It's great, thank you very much.
Me a sacado.

It's so much easier to hand sew with a thimble!!

Thank you so much ❤
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

She is using a contrasting thread so you can see what she is doing, with a matching thread you would hardly notice it.

👏👏👏 Exactly ... Some people seem to have no common sense !
