What do you like most or don't like about this design?
A GIANT long Piano Hinge... think of ALL the storage additional capacity ! (and easy to clean out the downdraft)
Cool video, thx. Like the unagitated narration
Such an epic build! Now stop bugging me while I watch.
Haha watch away. Thanks man
Nice. I like the integrated downdraft area. Cool setup.
Thank you!
That is such a massive outfeed/assembly! Love all of the clamping solutions and storage!
I’m so happy it’s done. It’s been great having it in the shop.
Awesome build man!!!! Sounds like it’s time for a new dust collector! I like you work around for the drawer that was hitting the dust collection
Thanks Christian, maybe time for the 5hp 😆
Great build, Bao! That's everything you need in an outfeed table.
Oh yes! I'm glad it's done!
Dude beautiful build!! The pro level b-roll + your soothing voice = perfection
Awww shucks. Hopefully it didn’t put you to sleep. 😅
Man, that thing is awesome!
Thank you!
Great video! I soooo need to make something like this

Excellent project 👍

Nice Build Bao, Solid job!
Thanks man! It was a fun and useful project in the shop
Impressive!
Thanks man
Good build man! Really enjoyed it
Thank you so much!
Sick build, good video. soundtrack? Nice. Subscribed. You should do a follow up on how well it's working (or not?) and things you would change or add
For sure! I plan on doing an end of the year shop you where I can get into that level of detail
Awesome build man! Probably the only thing I would have done differently is used double-sided MDF core melamine for the top. Mainly because it is super stable and makes a good assembly surface because it's easy to clean. The dust collection thing was a bummer, though! I guess it's time to get a bigger one. 😆Cheers from Baytown. - Joe
Yea I was considering melamine for the top, but any particle board core won’t work so well with the dovetail clamps. Maybe for actual aluminum tracks.
@@DesignCraftWorkshop very true about the clamps. If I did use the melamine I would definitely use t-track. I'll be building a new assembly table soon as mine has a lot of improvements that can be made. I'm definitely going to add the levelers to the next one as my shop floor is crazy uneven.
Those leveling feet comes in handy for sure
Nice job! I'm about to purchase a Festool sander. What model were you using in this video?
I'm using the ETS 150/5 EQ-Plus 👍🏻
Whats the fancy thing you use to put your plywood on when your breaking it down? I've never seen one before
Nevermind, I found it and seen the price
Glad you found it. It definitely isn't a need. I got it on sale and it works really well for my shop since it's pretty tight in the garage. I use to break down plywood on the ground using rigid insulation to lift the sheets off the concrete, but my back started to not like it very much. 😆
Why build 3x4 legs from plywood? Why not use 2x4 or 2x6?
Simply because I wanted to stick to strictly plywood for the build. No other reasons.
With the price of plywood these days, this project would cost approx 1 million dollars.
Yes but add 30% at least because you know man, like, Covid demand and stuff man, you know.
Yeah tell me about it. I had to use imported plywood for this. I usually use Purebond but it was too high.
Second!
Third too
How big did this end up being?
It should be in the plans
You’re in Houston right?
Where do you go to buy your 4x8 Baltic birch? I go to Mason’s mill, but they only sell 5x5 sheets.
(I’m assuming that’s Baltic birch for the top)
Btw, great video! Been following your channel for a while. I’ve been needing to build a torsion box out feed table for a while now & you incorporated all the features I’d want.
I go to Hardwood products but this isn't Baltic birch. It's just white birch. Thank you for the kind words and hope to see your build!
What is that expanding stand you're using?
It is the bora centipede.
How well do you find your downdraft design has worked for you?
So far it's been good. In the video I mention that there were some issues with the CFM. Turns out my dust collection filter was clogged. Once I unclogged the filter, it works like a dream. I do have to cover up the holes I don't use, but that usually the case with more downdraft setups like this. It has come in handy when I did a large order or valet tray and cutting board this past winter. It held the items in place really well as I was sanding.
What is a torsion box?
It’s pretty much just a very flat rigid table.
@@DesignCraftWorkshop Thanks for explaining.
