Apparently, we arrived just before Palm Springs’ big push. I got to spend some time in nearby downtown before heading back to the airport. And the place was buzzing. Not so much passenger wise (where is right now) but plane-wise. This is normally Palm Springs’ busy season, but for obvious reasons, the people aren’t coming. But at least the planes are.
Apologies that the video looks like some Vaseline lensed Lifetime movie from the 90s, but the windows on this plane were really dirty. We took off to the northwest before taking a sharp turn to the east. You can see the whole of the Coachella Valley including the infamous Salton Sea (just above the wing.) Seriously, if you don’t know anything about this environmental accident turned famed mid-century resort hotspot turned abandoned ecological disaster, please do. It’s quite the fascinating story. Google it now!
