I’ve worked in there before. That place was so freaking weird and cool. It goes like 4-5 stories underground and some of that underground portion is completely submerged in water. As in you can be outside of the building on ground floor looking in through a window at water 40-50 feet deep with staircases and pipes spiraling down into the darkness of the deep water. It was creepy as hell. And there were fish in it too. But then you could be inside all the way down on the ground on the lowest level and it be dry. Always was weird to think that in the back left corner there was 5 stories of water container by walls. One time a huge pipe was dropped above us from the absolutely massive overhead crane. It hit a ammonia line and started pouring ammonia all down in the bottom levels. Got paid leave for like 4 days while they cleaned it all up lol.

Isn't that the location where that ole timer caught that 70# record breaking striper?

yes - sad to see that. My dad was a fitter out there years ago and I watched a lot of his work vanish when they demo'd U6&7. I had spent a couple of years out there (SCS) on wastewater, baghouse, scrubber jobs.

@@martinswiney2192 Thank you...My understanding is the plant was just outdated and would cost more to bring it up to standards than to demolish it.
