I absolutely agree with you about Doctor Sleep being better The Shining. It's just a better, tighter story in my opinion.
I've read 52 King books at this point, and my top 5 is:
    5. The Stand
    4. 11/22/63
    3. The Green Mile
    2. The Dead Zone
    1. Misery

Yeah, and I loved the characters even more in Doctor Sleep too!

I honestly disagree with you both, but it's my opinion. Great ranking video though.

The dark half and pet semetary are the only king books I've read. I look forward to reading more of his works in the future like salems lot. ^_^

King talked a lot about how fans would be upset because W&G was 100% a sequel and wouldn't touch on Blaine or current events at all...
But he felt pressure not to go that route and tacked on a denouement at the last moment: which is too bad...to me, it FEELS wrong, out of place, not right...but that hefty part where the back story is told ??
May be THE most exquisite, absolutely the best writing, best storytelling he's ever done...itsthisclose to being my #1...

I like when people put The Stand above It because I haven't read The Stand, but It is my favorite King novel. Makes me more and more excited to read it.

Wizard and Glass feels never-ending and unnecessary, but you need to push through it to read the rest of the series! it’s so good!

    Interesting list...
Been reading king since the mid 70s, so, been on this great, big, dark adventure for quite a while...i see a lot more King on your shelf, considering what you seem to favor...I'd think Liseys Story and/or Bag Of Bones might hit you right.
Just to show how different lists can be...my (current) top 5 after reading all but 8 books...
    5) The Long Walk
    4) The Drawing of the Three
    3) The Wastelands
    2) Wizard and Glass
    1) 'Salems Lot
    Thanks for sharing

You got #1 right, in my opinion! But you vastly underrate Different Seasons. Four novellas, at least three of which are outstanding. And even the fourth one has something going for it.

    • @darkwitnesslxx
      @darkwitnesslxx 3 года назад +1

An average reader reads about 300 words a minute. An average page contains 500 words. That would be approx 40 page an hour. If you are listening to it, and reading it at the same time you could double that, maybe. Its possible.

I'm currently reading the Shining and it is so incredibly boring. I have seen both movie adaptations and know what happens but am stunned at how many boring chapters there are with nothing happening. Major let down so far.
