They’re dressed as The Corrs in the first video but the song itself is definitely a parody of The Incidentals by Alisha’s Attic. They were a sister group too so it kind of makes sense.
Thx so much for this. I just binned a bunch of VHS cassettes of random TV music recordings amongst which I spotted a couple of Smack The Pony music parodies, notably "Blown" by "Natalie Imbruglia". I was wondering if they might be on RUclips. I had no idea there were so many! I don't feel so bad about throwing out the videos now ... 🙂
@@unidan82 I will find the time to watch all of these. I once made a low quality DVD compilation of all the great parody/pastiche songs from children's TV show Horrible Histories. Some of those were brilliant as well, especially the later ones that were more obviously based on recognisable pop acts such as Adam Ant, Abba, Kate Bush, David Bowie, Eminem, Take That, Tom Jones etc. Clearly aimed at the parents as the children watching wouldn't have a clue. Hope someone has compiled them on RUclips. French & Saunders and Not The Nine O'Clock News also did some great parodies.
It's a sin that the entire series is not available on DVD. This show is so darn good.
ICONIC 😂

Oh yeah!!! Totally hadn’t twigged that!
The last track is my favourite Christmas song ever

You’re welcome! Some of these songs are just genius

I hope she found the buffet
Just for the halibut, I looked up "Luminatrix" and there are at least a dozen groups by that name here on RUclips.
I'm pretty sure the song at 30:20 is Shaggy - It Wasn't Me
It’s not a like for like parody - this is kinda both
Yeah, it's a parody mix of various artists. The "come on doggy lovers" is Notorious B.I.G's. come on m*ther f*cker come on.
What I wouldn't give for the guitar chords for these songs...
03:54 - is definitely Kenickie "I Would Fix You"
25:09 - is definitely Alice Deejay "Better Off Alone"
Wow never heard that song… the smack the pony version is so much better… 😳
@@unidan82 Which one?
@@UMBR. kenickie
40:26 Th’ Faith Healers?
Never heard of them lol - which song?
@@unidan82 I don’t think they were parodying it, but the song Reptile Smile ends with a very similar repetition of “I love you”
The one you think is Elastica is definitely supposed to be Spoiled Children by Velocette.
Definitely! I’d just never heard of them! The smack the pony song is actually way better 🤣
@Dan H Velocette had one album back in the 90s, it's pretty good. I have Spoiled Children on CD single too.
The verse is deffo Elastica
@ziffelkid1445 Have to disagree, it's not gritty enough for Elastica.
@@Zedd7 You’re right, I was getting them confused with Republica. It’s exactly the verse from “Ready To Go”
