Everyone blaming the woman for the theft. There was a time in America where if you dropped a wallet on the sidewalk, it would be returned. You could leave your doors unlocked. You could leave your car keys hanging in the ignition. Wonder what changed? (That was sarcasm) Gas was 50 cents a gallon and a whole cart of groceries was less than $100. One person's pay could support a family. Now we have billionaires on social media and 99% living in credit card debt. a small handful of people have stolen America's 'Pursuit of Happiness'. Now we're scratching and clawing to survive.
Men used to buy front pocket or truckers wallets that are shaped to conform to being in a front pocket comfortably, they do still sell them, if I were a man I'd for sure go front pocket, too many thieves sadly
@ set up an online account with the bank/ credit card company and turn on the alert feature, you can set it to text or email you anytime it’s used. I get a text within seconds every time it’s used. This works with credit or debit cards. You can literally stop the charge as it happens.
I was robbed once when having a crossbody bag. I was at a restaurant with friends and my crossbody bag was ON me and still a woman managed to rob my wallet from inside it. She came sat at the next table but didn’t order any food. My food arrived and probably as I was eating she managed to open the zipper and grab my wallet. I didn’t notice until I got to the hotel. I was traveling. My crossbody bag had a zipper and a flap that was clipped complete cover the zipper. These pickpockets and thieves find a way. I personally think backpacks are safer as long as they are on you.
"I hope they needed it more than I did" So if someone steals your car, it's "Well perhaps, they couldn't afford one , drive safe" Glad She has a positive outlook on things
The BIGGEST mistake women make is setting down their purse, and failing to zip/latch it closed. NEVER set your bag in the cart. Wear cross-body bag in front of you, keep it zipped, and attach wallet to bag with lanyard/chain/etc. When paying, HOLD your wallet until you put card or change in your wallet, then secure wallet back inside your cross-body bag. Dining: never set purse on floor or hang over chairback. Put in lap with napkin over it, or use cross-body bag.
Whenever i see someone leave their purse in a cart i always tell them not to do because someone may steal your purse. Usually people are grateful on rare occasions they side eye me like I'm a thief
Know what they could have done technically is identified the time frame where those charges were done and look at the timestamps of each video during that period. Most local businesses now have cameras.
They can definitely do just that. The Neiman Marcus she said it was done at will definitely have surveillance camera footage… they have it on all their registers and all over the store. I just don’t know if the police will bother investigating thoroughly or not. Most likely though the Credit Card company will have someone go and check it out to make sure it is indeed theft and not a fraud attempt on the lady claiming her card was stolen.
One time, late in the last century, I left my purse unattended for about a minute or so. It may have even been less than that. I had credit card theft. Never, ever again. It seems like someone is always watching and waiting for you to not be vigilant. I learned my lesson. And nothing has happened since that awful day. Ladies, don't be trusting. Don't pretend that you are among friends. Don't think that everyone around you is nice and friendly and helpful. Protect everything with you every single second. All the time. The one time you slip up, that's it. It is sad times we live in. But never let down your guard, and you should be OK.
Have seen woman thousands of times over my 74 years leave their purses in their shopping carts. This is no longer the world that we once lived in… I always wear a cross body purse with RFID protection whenever I am out in public and when traveling. My wallet also has RFID protection.
I'm constantly seeing purses left unattended in shopping carts! I immediately mention it to the obvious nearby owner...some thank me, some just glare, lol. That's why I wear a crossbody purse these days...
At first they say she didn’t know the cards were missing UNTIL she got the fraud alert. At the end she said she had to pay with her one remaining card. Doesn’t make sense.
I can't believe how many are blaming this woman when the thruth is that someone stole her cards. I'm hopeful that the person gets caught. I sometimes have my purse in the same area but when I do I buckle my purse in and my wallet is tucked down in my purse and zippered. I also take out my cards that I will be using before I enter the store and put them in my pocket.
And that's why it is her fault. Anybody in their right mind would not ever leave their purse open and laying in your heart or even closed. I put my stuff in my pocket I do not carry a purse when I'm shopping.
I can't tell you how often I have mentioned to women that they need to watch their purses in carts. They usually thank me for reminding them, but sometimes they say they are watching it even after I have been standing by it for over a minute unnoticed. Better to keep a hand on the purse while looking at something. Better to be safe than sorry. 😊
I have seen idiots like these do this over and over. I've even seen purses being left in vehicles seat with open windows while they go inside to pick up something. One time it was right in front of a police officer and we both looked at each other and just shook our heads in disbelief.

Yeah, a lot of us are down on our luck, most of the time. So, we gotta find ways to have enough money to make ends meet. Older people are easy to get a few bucks from.
Sorry, but you gotta be bad, sometimes, to survive nowadays. Sad that you make it harder for the rest of us to make easy money.
Sorry that happened, but Fraud? They just jacked her. Nothing fancy. Don't leave your purse out.
It was theft followed by credit card fraud. I know it's hard to put it all together. You're welcome.
How is this news? This kind of theft has been going on as long as there have been grocery stores, carts and purses.
I always keep my purse on my shoulder or cross body. Dumb people leave their purse in the basket.
Some purses aren’t designed for that; it doesn’t make the owner dumb.
@@GS-cg3ynhow do you think they got her card than? I'm sure if she has it on her like crossbody purse or on her would be impossible for them to steal. So she was dumb.
That happened to me. I was getting a piece of meat out of the cooler and someone took my wallet out of my purse. Used my charge card immediately. I now only wear a waist pouch. No more purses!
This happened to a friend of mine. "I only left my purse unattended for a minute!" I asked, "So how long did it take for someone to steal your wallet?"
Translation: Don't be stupid.
LOL what a waste of news.
@thomasfuller225 🎯 Plain and simple truth!
I've stopped women in the grocery store warning them not to leave their purses unattended. I do wear a crossbody.
How many people would be embarrassed doing something this stupid. Now everyone knows how incompetent she is.
Please use a credit instead. It is recommended that always use your credit cards for shopping and you won’t be going through this drama. My debit cards only comes out from my home when I want to withdraw money or bank transactions
Sorry this happened, but don't just leave your cart unattended as you shop.
Dont leave your purse in the cart
@camillecali2 ... Maybe... Just carry your form of payment... In your pocket... You do NOT really need to carry a purse... While shopping... Too EZY to be distracted... For only a couple of seconds... Then... BAM... The thieves are already using your cards that they had taken... &
😢 every time you leave your home you enter the war zone of the world😢
shopping COMFORTABLE is over AND it's unfair we all have to feel like a thriller movie when we go out to shop. WE KNOW who is doing this and they don't care about getting in trouble. WE HAVE enough cameras to catch the crime.
I work at a grocery store. I remind ladies all the time. Wearing a cross body purse is the best. This is the way they get so far is that they take their wallet leave the store & she doesn’t realize this until she goes to pay for her groceries.
You have to keep your purse rught on your body. Never leave it in the cart.
Provide a description. Never mind, I already know.
I bet if we got to see the video we would see some diversity on full display.
True fact this.
"hoping they needed it more than I did".......wrong attitude to take!!
what bullcrap. all these stores have hundreds of camera's and we have no pictures to see????????????????????????????????????????
Even with ALL the pictures to see... They don't use "Facial Recognition"... YET...
Chances of someone knowing who it is... IS... Well... Going to be hard...
First of all, they were following her. She was targeted because she was not PAYING ATTENTION.
Most likely. Whenever I suspect someone is following me around the store, I take a picture of them somewhat discreetly. If they are guilty, they know they've been spotted and abandon their plan.
Wow an entire news story about a woman leaving her purse unattended. She practically left it out for anyone to grab 🙄
Don't even cary a purse. Use an rfid wallet too❤
You have to be vigilant out in public places “head on a swivel”
I use to fuss at my mom about leaving her purse in a cart and walking away I told her somebody is gonna snatch your purse leaving it unattended I have a crossover bag I keep across my shoulders for that reason I don’t trust anyone
Beware of your surroundings at all times specially around n’s
Pssh there favorite personality is acting animal after all they so hatred.
I keep my wallet in my front pocket. Women might reconsider needing to carry all their stuff in purses and have a simple wallet they can keep on them rather than an easy target like a purse
Good luck getting women to be okay with not using a purse. One of the defining accessories for a woman 🤷🏾♂️
That woman a lot of us women are smart and we do that already.
Compassion for the person whose poor fortune in life forced them to take the cards and cash. I'm sure they needed designer purses more than this elite lady. Give them bail they can actually pay (by selling the loot), and then a 3 month suspended sentence. This way, if they really have to, they will be able to grab some other cards as needed in the future.
@@circesoul2218 well I wouldnt go that far after all she is no responsible to protect others from being able to steal, I mean it is not like teh thief is helpless against temptation.
Everyone blaming the woman for the theft.
There was a time in America where if you dropped a wallet on the sidewalk, it would be returned. You could leave your doors unlocked. You could leave your car keys hanging in the ignition.
Wonder what changed? (That was sarcasm)
Gas was 50 cents a gallon and a whole cart of groceries was less than $100. One person's pay could support a family.
Now we have billionaires on social media and 99% living in credit card debt.
a small handful of people have stolen America's 'Pursuit of Happiness'. Now we're scratching and clawing to survive.
As a male I put my wallet in my front pocket. I see women with purses all the time with phones that could easily be swiped.
Men used to buy front pocket or truckers wallets that are shaped to conform to being in a front pocket comfortably, they do still sell them, if I were a man I'd for sure go front pocket, too many thieves sadly
People needs to watch there purse at all times. I even take my purse if I turn my back or step away. This lady needs to pay attention more.
THEIR purse. Possessive. "there" is a location. Learn English!
Crazy that people don’t sign up for alerts on all their cards.
Can you be specific? Maybe that means I need to.
@ set up an online account with the bank/ credit card company and turn on the alert feature, you can set it to text or email you anytime it’s used. I get a text within seconds every time it’s used. This works with credit or debit cards. You can literally stop the charge as it happens.
They will get caught shame on them karma will come 10 fold
Karma don't exist.
So… no security cameras at Fry’s?
You can use a fanny pack belt or close body harness pouch also.
When i see a woman with a purse in here cart I tell rhem straight up "DON'T LEAVE UR PURSE RIGHT THERE SOMEONE CAN TAKE IT" 😂
I was robbed once when having a crossbody bag.
All I carry is my phone. Some states allow digital drivers license which you can add to Apple Wallet and Arizona allows it. Outsmart the crooks
Common sense is not so common.
bring fanny-packs / belt bags back in style ~ crisis resolved
Why didn't she close her cards immediately?
Because she figured "they needed it more than she did."
"I hope they needed it more than I did" So if someone steals your car, it's "Well perhaps, they couldn't afford one , drive safe" Glad She has a positive outlook on things
There have been public warnings for DECADES to NOT leave your purse in the shopping cart and I see it ALL the time. Common sense. No sympathy...
Wow so many self righteous people in the comments. Of course all of you are so perfect. You'll never make a mistake 🙄🙄🙄
It's about using common sense
You would think by now people would be aware of this, but nope there is always ONE dumb one and they make the news.
Every purse I own is a crossbody purse. I put it on before I get out of the car and never take it off until I’m back in my locked car.
Unfortunately many people are not using common sense
Thanks to katie hobbs and Mark Kelly crime is the worst than ever in AZ.
Yeah, go get political, what a truly dumb comment @debrassmith7721 '
THis scam is more than a decade old, been happening for 20 years. Dumb people leaving their purse in their cart and turning ther back? Duuuuuh
have them look at the cameras and expose the thieves!!!
I use Apple Pay for everything
Don't leave your pocketbook in shopping cart.
You can't let your guard down for even a second. It's sad we live in a world like this.
Theres cameras. You were at the checkout …..THERE IS CAMERAS. EVEN AT THE OTHER STORES …. Two + Two = 4 ….
Come on. She's no kid.
Just take your debit card, car keys, and maybe cell in with you- all of them in a pocket.
Treat purses and pocketbooks like actual POCKETS. Keep them against your body with the flap on the INSIDE between your body and the purse.
Have seen woman thousands of times over my 74 years leave their purses in their shopping carts.
This is no longer the world that we once lived in…
I always wear a cross body purse with RFID protection whenever I am out in public and when traveling. My wallet also has RFID protection.
My wallet in my front pocket.... put cash in socks. Lotta pros out thar
Leaving your purse or wallet in your shopping cart has been a known no no for decades, not really surprising, same happens at bars.
I would be so embarrassed if they did a news report on me telling the world, I was dumb enough to leave my wallet in the cart.
When I'm grocery shopping I tell ladies to not leave their purses in the cart.
Sadly, this can happen anywhere. We now have to be vigilant at all times.
My purse is zipped, entangled and secured with the child safety strap and not placed on the child seat, but inside the cart with the food.
I have seen idiots like these do this over and over. I've even seen purses being left in vehicles seat with open windows while they go inside to pick up something. One time it was right in front of a police officer and we both looked at each other and just shook our heads in disbelief.
