Other Supes have V run through their veins. A finite amount of it, injected.
Homelander and Ryan produce V naturally (they got only a small injection/inheritance, and their cells learnt to synthesize V in the body as they grew).
So, even if they lose powers temporarily, their bodies should produce V over time and restored their powers eventually. Unlike other Supes, which do not have V on genetic level.

They would not lose their powers permanently BTW.
Other Supes lose their power because they only get a finite amount of V in their system from the injection.
Both Ryan and Homelander were made to have V on genetic level. Hence it can be inherited and hence they are substantially stronger than others. Their cells can synthesize V (or else it does not make sense, as that small V amount in embryo would NOT be enough for Homelander to grow into a super-powered adult).
Even if they lost their power for a moment, their cells would produce more quite quickly.

It is a metaphor for Butcher’s father.
Lenny was mentioned in the episode a lot, as a foreshadowing. It was always his soft spot and the very reason of Butcher’s “tough” persona.
Butcher’s dad had the same toxic masculinity issue (emotion is weak - proceeds with punishment) AND he has no remorse for his own family.
That struck Butcher on his very core and he had to fight SB, in a closure to his own unavenged venture with his father (his father died before he could do anything to him).
This episode was truly Shakespearean in terms of quality of every creative decision.
If you want, I can tell you more metaphors and deeper meanings in this episode. Just tell me which one (HL, Noir, Maeve, Hugie etc)

The season went downhill when The Legend told Hughie Soldier Boy is a fraud. This is a bad message indicating that all supes except Starlight is evil. They had a chance to make Soldier Boy different but made him bad as all other supes. I get the cynism but the show is getting messier. Season 2 showed a scene in which Edgar told Homelander that Soldier Boy’s heroism in fighting Nazis helped Frederick Vought be pardoned. The Legend was confusing because there was no Vought Corporation during WWll. If there was, it is insane how the U.S Government allowed a Nazi to start his own pharmaceutical businesses. Did the writers forget that Season 2 scene to the point they retconned their own story?
I am upset. Soldier Boy carried Season 3. However, the Series Finale showed that Soldier Boy and the Boys’ missions play no role in the outcome of the story. If Soldier Boy wasn’t freed, everything would’ve still happened the way it is. Homelander would’ve gotten Ryan back and continue to receive support by his followers and the U.S Government. The only thing the Boys team managed to accomplish is pass through therapy sessions which actually gave some good character development. This is the season in which the Boys team actions did nothing. Therefore, they lost to Homelander and the villains won this season.

The Soldier Boy is Covid thing was also super stupid because the analogy doesn't hold up with 2 seconds of thinking about it.

Both HL and Soldier Boy are kept in secured military facility i.e. under CIA and then in Season 4 the boys go after Vic Neuman and when Vic finds it difficult to handle The Boys on her own she frees HL from secured facility and gives him Compound V as was initially done to kimiko. Having has his kid died HL furious join hands with vic to take down The Boys and Butcher, and when The Boys find out that HL is out again with his powers, then The Boys again release SB. This time Butcher doesn't screw up and let SB takedown HL. Finally The Boys and SB go separate ways and The series ends

I would actually like to see a character that not only has OP power like Homelander Or Soldier Boy (or potentially stronger than both of them) ,but actually be dangerous with their intelligence. Outsmarting everyone and maybe have a big doomsday plan type of shit in mind, seeing as how deranged and insane that their world is. Somebody does not understand Butcher character x 20……
Long story short - SB in this episode is metaphor for Butcher’s unresolved daddy issues. He acted/reasoned exactly like his father and got stopped by Butcher as a result.
It is further evidenced by many mentions of “Lenny” throughout the episode.
Open your eyes for deeper meaning, please!
Also, blast will not take away HL’s power, as V is naturally produced in his body (on genetic level), as opposed to other Supes (Ryan is the exception because of the identical reason).
Overall, every creative decision of this episode was pure brilliance. Writing was Shakespearean-level, which is pretty impressive for a superhero TV show.
Butcher, Ryan, Homelander, Noir etc - all were served BEST narrative-wise. Their character arks were masterfully concluded and storytelling elements just aligned so great.

Noir is stronger than HL physically. He subdued Maeve all by himself during ambush (whereas Maeve could hold HL off, as he is not THAT physically strong - just durable).
But Black Noir is less durable, just like in comics.
Noir can be harmed by bullets, explosions etc. Homelander is invincible to those kinds of means.
Homelander took him out because he was less durable (despite his might) and let his guard down. Otherwise, it would be an interesting, even fight.
HL did NOT fight back here. He was shocked by his father rejecting him, after all he went though (even killing Noir, his most reliable and trustworthy teammate) and all of his expectations. He wanted recognition and acceptance from SB so much that not getting them put him into a stupor.
He did not even try to resist them in this scene and was just faintly asking “why?/don’t do it”). He was shocked and confused to his very core.

Somebody missed the entire point of both HL’s and Butcher’s characters.
      Bravo.
Learn to analyze the story, pls. It is not a fighting game - motivation and personality matter.
Homelander always wanted a family. He is not inherently evil - just messed up and a victim turned evil. Him protecting Ryan and being phased by SB’s actions is staying in-character.
Butcher has a soft spot for HIS family ever since his abusive father causes Lenny’s suicide. HENCE there were 2+ mentions of Lenny in this episode.
When SB was acting just like Butcher’s father (emotion is weakness, family means does not deserve remorse) - Butcher snapped, also in-character.
Black noir’s death was perfect, as he was always a martyr getting the other end of stick NOT because of his own fault. He always tangled up in other’s agendas and suffered, and died as a martyr too.
Just be more considerate of the literature implications here, please. This episode has Shakespeare-like writing, lol.
