OH MY GOD YOU DONT KNOW HOW MUCH THAT HELPED ME im crying I was going to search for an expensive teacher JUST to improve that and now it just snapped something in my brain your tips instantly made a difference in my vibrato I can't wait to improve it even more😊
To everybody who is struggling- don't give up. Try to break your progress down into very small chunks . I found that the instructions she gave starting at 4:05 worked beat for me. However I had to stay on 1 Bow per finger movement for a while (like 10 minutes).. Once I got it I was able to move on to two. Then 4. It's a little boring but then you're going to get it and you're going to be happy. AMAZING TEACHER .. 🍎
You really help me for myself and things to use to teach my students. Thank you, Corrie. Btw, did not hear the landscapers, or whomever they were, at all. Mark - Australia
Hi. Thanks for sharing your tips for practicing violin vibrato. and now I'm wondering about high position vibrato. you know it's really hard to me to do that...
Most of the videos on Vibrato tell me that it takes months and months to learn it right. I like these exercises. How long would you suggest I work on them? Is wrist vibrato better than arm vibrato? Thank you for your help.
Wrist or arm vibrato is up to you! And yes, I would give yourself a few months. It’s something that will build on itself and you’ll find yourself getting better quickly and easily the more you practice it!
I'm sorry if I sounded overly critical of your vibrato method. I'm getting over a bout with kidney stones. I generally am open minded with vibrato theory. Have wonderful day. The other day I sounded great on the violin as I was playing abbas the visitors. I think they were new strings but yesterday my sound was mediocher. This is one of the things I find frustrating about the.violin. they are extremely hard to play consistently well.
Honestly, I’ve seen soooo many different ways to learn vibrato and it’s kinda just figuring out what works for you! So no worries if you don’t like my method. Try something else!! Praying you feel better soon! 🙏 The more you play, the more consistent you’ll be. Good luck!
Some positions seems like they dont support dougtnut spaghetii joint movement with 3rd finger as its sometimes perpandeculiar to the vibrato direction in some positions
I guess it’s mostly personal choice. I find wrist vibrato easier to control so that’s my go to. I’ll only really push for arm vibrato for more romantic style pieces and things like that
@ oh okay 😄 for me i can controll my vibrato better with arm vibrato and use it for all music especially for baroque. For me is wrist vibrato not natural and very tense. But arm vibrato was the first vibrato i have learned…….. so i can do it very well😄

Thanks for adding these great tips!!
Oh my goodness!! This explains a lot of struggle I went through... Thank you so much for breaking this process down💜❤🥺🙏
Everyone: this helped a lot!
Me : I’m still confused 😔
Great video though you’re a very good teacher!
Try also moving a ball on your violin. Put a small ball between your fingers and fingerboard, it helped with the wrist movement a lot.
This helped me soooo much I have totally been struggling so much hehe
So amazing!

Good video! I am STRUGGLING with this. I will most definitely try your techniques and see that helps.
Amazing! I hope it’s helpful!!
Longing for the day I can do the vibrato like you do Corrie...... Uffffff....... When will that be????
Haha this is me with 30 years of vibrato practice. It’s sooo important to practice your vibrato literally everyday! That’s it.
Well, I started learning violin with private lessons in my 60s and I am now on Suzuki 7, but vibrato has eluded me. I cannot do it!
It's really helpful, thank you

GREAT question!! I need to make a video about this!

What about more arm vibrato instead of wrist?

You're so welcome!

I still do donut spaghetti even in higher positions. I’ll make a video about it soon!
Does the donut-spagheti method apply to those with long fingers?
I'm still confused and frustrated. I've been doing violin for two years, I've tried most tactics for vibrato, but none of them work.
I'm honestly considering quitting, because this isn't working out for me.
Aw I’m so sorry to hear that. Everyone learns at different speeds. I didn’t learn vibrato for 8 years. So if you’re 2 years in, you’re doing great!!
Is it normal when violin shakes while doing vibrato?
No, your violin shouldn’t be shaking.
Same problem as mine
What if u have small fingers like a pinky

Lmao I thought I'm the only one hahaha i thought my violin was just poorly painted
Every time this happens I’m like…is it just me?! Haha
😊❤ THX
🙏💙
But why wrist vibrato? Arm vibrato is more lessness, easier and sounds much better😊
I guess it’s mostly personal choice. I find wrist vibrato easier to control so that’s my go to. I’ll only really push for arm vibrato for more romantic style pieces and things like that
