So interesting to hear everyone talk nice about one another when you know there was so much behind-the-scenes discord. In particular, that Tony Gilroy is only mentioned a bit in passing and never interviewed. And that Liman talks about "constructing" the screenplay with Gilroy, when it was basically all Gilroy when it came to plot and theme and character. Which is not to totally dismiss Liman's contribution: his erratic style was clearly an issue; but just as clearly, his hands-on approach with the camera brought some real energy; and he made some inspired casting choices. Thanks for posting this-I will never tire of hearing about this production.
I can’t stop watching the Bourne trilogy. I have all three of them on some old ass DVDs, but they still work. The quality of these movies is so damn high. Everyone who worked on these movies really put in the work and I fucking love it. by far, my favorite Matt Damon character and the early 2000s vibes of these movies are just so nostalgic even though I was born in 97
Wow Franka Pontete's natural English accent is almost accent-free, very impressive she had a much stronger German accent in the film, very realistic, love it!
Yes its very different from the book ,the book was just boring after the first chapter ,the first chapter was a little interesting but then it went down hill ,but very good assassin movie i have all 5.
That's not how it works, it's not a ridiculous premise, it's not like being shot in the back directly causes amnesia. Amnesia (memory loss) is caused by brain injury but also other things, intense emotional shock or stress is one of them. It is not that far fetched to assume the events he went through immediately before being shot caused emotional stress. As we learn later, he saw the kids before shooting the guy in the boat so he decided to quit, meaning it struck an emotional chord. Also, the way he fell into the water, it is also not far fetched at all to assume he suffered some sort of concussion to the head which makes sense since he was also rendered unconscious in the process.

It was definitely the cinematography that made the Bourne films different! Something we hadn't seen before.Superb!

kodus to Roebrt Ludlum...as his book-to-film was a success out of this bourne concept.
better than the Books
In the books he was trained by his father who was ex CIA, but the real question is was his father really retired?
It doesn't matter in the movie, it's great it was left out because it would've made it unnecessarily complicated without adding to the plot.
But it's a ridiculous Premise, wake up and not know who you are because you're shot in the Back?
