The only real difference now is that this generation has become more sensitive and louder about bullying, which is a good thing, because victims of bullying have a larger voice now than they did before. Also, in terms of partying, people have always been partying from disco parties in the 80s to pop rock/punk parties in the 90s. In the early 00s hip-hop/pop/R&B became even more popular, but it was during the late 00s and early 10s that EDM just so happened to become everyone's party anthem. People will naturally see their adolescent or childhood years as a 'party era'.
