Cory's slow movement was awesome and full of musicality...it didn't have any of the massive splits in the cadenzas that brighouse did either! And yes obviously i knew that, I'm not simple. I know my shit about testpieces, given that I've actually played this piece and am a brass band composer myself. Also as for amateur recordings i also have the professional ones and can safely say i prefer cory's, and yes i was there all day actually... as I filmed this bloody video!!!!

Is it me or does the RAH sound like it has more reverb than usual?

Listen to the recordings...they speak for themselves in my opinion. Brighouse were awesome but not as exciting or clean as Cory on the day.

There's no need to get childish and personal over a you tube argument to be honest, but nevertheless...By composer i mean, i have won awards, competitions, had pieces recorded on CD's and make money from it... Clearly splits aren't the be all to end all, but when you're deciding between 1st and 2nd place at the nationals, every little bit counts. Musicality is also subjective and not objective...it's frankly academic as Brighouse won...but it's opinion that Cory should have.
