- Chethan Meda, a manufacturing engineering student, takes us around @penncollege's Machining Labs cutting-edge facilities and hands-on learning experiences. From manual machining to high-precision CNC work, their labs are equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, providing students with an opportunity to hone their skills in an environment that mirrors real-world industry standards.
Through a unique 1-to-9 format, students spend extensive hours in the lab, translating theoretical knowledge into hands-on expertise. Chethan also gives an exclusive tour of the Baja Room. This specialized program is where engineering meets adrenaline, as students design, build, and manufacture single-seat racing UTVs right here on campus. From CNC stamping to forming and rolling, their students learn to convert raw materials into finely-tuned racing equipment.

My old stomping grounds! It looks a lot different since I've been there. Just awesome!
Chethan, your work is incredible. I was very privileged to be in school with you. Keep on sending it!
Great video! Chethan is in my class where we are learning about the Unified Namespace (UNS) architecture using a low-cost, hands-on, Arduino-based system.
I would love to hire some of your students! Do they know how to program Arduinos by hand?
Nice looking facility, you do a good job keeping it clean. Having those EDM's is something you don't see at a lot of colleges, the only thing I didn't see was a surface grinder.
There is a grinding that includes surface and cylindrical grinders, plus a space for heat treating.

Im super impressed
Currently a student there, the new Acer lathe’s are crap! Bridgeports are decent. And overall, a very expensive school
Thanks for the honesty! We got nothing but clapped out First mills in our "state of the art" school, glad things are the same everywhere haha
