- We're back with another update on my desk setup. A lot of the same things, in a different place. This setup was the hub for 3 short feature web documentaries I cut last year, as well as a ton of different short form pieces and day-to-day work keeping the business going.

What laptop stand and monitor mount do you use?
Hey isn't this the guy that shoots all of Jeremy Miller's videos?
This video is super helpful! I do have a couple questions. I am currently debating switching from a desktop pc to a MacBook pro, is that what you are running? Does your mac serve as a central powerhouse to run everything and you simply have those monitors connected to it? Does it run everything smoothly? I can't seem to find anything online that doesn't feel like a paid sponsorship, but making this switch is a tough decision for me. Thanks!
I've been using Macbook Pros since 2014 exclusively to edit. Currently, it's absolutely the best solution for a mobile workstation for video production.
You'll notice my Macbook is definitely not the highest end spec, and it's already a little out of date. I have no complaints with performance, and I do practice a proxy workflow for bigger projects that keeps everything moving smoothly.
No sponsorship here. If you NEVER plan on traveling/editing on the go, you could certainly build a PC with better specs at a better price point than getting a Macbook. But for my workflow, which has me on the road 2-3 weeks out of the month, this is the right solution.
@@drewbdarby Thank you for the reply! I won't have to be mobile quite that often but would like the option due to school, etc. I think I'm going to just commit and get a Macbook Pro M2 Max. I plan to get a dock, etc. to have a desktop-like setup and have a mobile option
How do you Connect it All to your laptop?
All through my CalDigit thunderbolt hub
@@drewbdarby could you send me a link? 🥴
Added it to the description 👍🏼
probably should link the newer version Caldigit TS4 as it supports thunderbolt 4 and more/higher bandwidth peripherals@@drewbdarby
