Well... I was getting ready to buy a 2025 model next spring/summer, but you have persuasively convinced me to wait until the new 2026 CX5, Forester, and Rav4 come to market. Unfortunately, I lust for the new 2026 Honda Passport but fear it will be too big and expensive for me.
This channel goes from awesome to awesome in previewing coming new vehicles. I drive a Corolla IM and really like the Subaru Crosstrek but since up to now no hybrid would go with the Corolla Cross hybrid. Thanks to this channel another possibility appears in the near future. Many thanks to you!
I agree but disagree haha. The platform and price are different bcok of its power train. 2.5 or 2.5turbo in cx5 against the in-line 6 3.3 turbo.( If I'm not wrong), it's a huge difference to ask as its replacement
@ Why? The CX-5 is an odd duck in the lineup. It’s from the old family, with old nomenclature. The 50 replaces it. So now there’s a hole in the line-up in the mid-size CUV category and what’s better than a 6 cylinder to fill that? It would compete with the Passport, Highlander and Grand Cherokee directly. The only thing missing from it is an optional hybrid.
Hello from Lexington, Kentucky. I Love to follow your latest updates on new car models. You do a excellent job , very professional and give common sense. My hobby is following new cars and technology and your one of my favorites ! Keep up the great work,. Eddie W.
All of the Toyota hybrids are the best new cars in 2025 because people who ordered in 2023 will finally get their vehicles. When the CX5, Forestor, and Rogue hybrids are available, it will be end of 2026/2027 before customers can start to drive them. Forget these models are coming as it will take forever. For now you can pick up the CRV hybrid and Korean ones easily the former being quite pricey.
While the in-house developed CX-5 hybrid and Subaru hybrids coming out in future, I’d be sceptical on buying any of them as they’re brand new systems and haven’t been proven for reliability and longevity. I only trust hybrids from Toyota or Honda that have been doing hybrids for at least 2 decades now. Even Kia/Hyundai hybrids haven’t been around that long to be proven to stand the test of time!
And what really matters is the superb V6 engine. Honda better starts putting this amazing engine back in Accords. Those puny 1.5 liters engines with turbo are worth s**t!
massive recall on the 6 cyl J35 Honda engines. passport is using the new DOHC J35Y8. it's likely to have the same rod bearing issue necessitating cam shaft replacement as they may have been machined incorrectly.
I'm surprised a new CX-5 is coming (it's a great seller) but I thought Mazda was just renaming their vehicles with "0" at the end. CX-9--> CX-90. CX-7 --> CX-70... I know the CX-50 already exists
Thank you for this information. Can you tell me with all the new hybrids, what is main difference with plug in or not plug in hybrid i was hopinf more smaller hybrids would come ouse instead of the largef 6 cylinder ones.
More on the new Rav4 please. We bought a new one this last year. It's a limited hybrid that has 2. tone seats and a large screen. It's very nice but it is a bit noisy on the road, and not so smooth driving. So, I'm wondering how much nicer the new one will be if you can find one to buy.
I would like to know if/when Lexus is making a solid state battery for an all electric car? And hopefully later the plugin hybrid? We asked them earlier in the year and they thought it was for 2025, but at the dealer last week there was no news. We have a gas 2022 RX350 and love it but would consider other options if the solid state were to become available (preferably in a plugin hybrid, I don't care for all electric).
More expensive SUVs coming our way. Expensive to buy, expensive to own when the hybrid components begin to fail unless you intend to lease it for 3 years and the subsequent owners have to deal with it. Meanwhile I'm here looking to replace my lease, when it's up next year, with a used Scion with a manual transmission and low miles. Maybe a Yaris. I definitely don't want to deal with modern car reliability issues/over complicated designs, or the monthly payment.
At least you'll be able to change your own transmission fluid, unlike other so called reliable cars with a high chance of getting it stolen Toyota/honda and more complex CVT
is it such a good idea to buy the very very first editions of all these frankensteins, such as subaru boxer plus toyota hybrid 🤪. Subaru has had some problems with just the boxer alone.. now adding a whole new factor by crossing it with a toyota hybrid?? Is that going to make it beyond year one?
If Nissan doesn't sort out their transmission issues with their CVTs, they are going to have a really hard row to hoe with the Rogue. The insistence by car makers to drop the roof line on their compact and subcompact SUVs really, really hurts them. I realize they're doing it primarily for aerodynamics, but seriously, how about making something that 4 ADULTS can comfortably ride in? Rear seat headroom is one of the reasons that midsize 4 door pick-'em-up trucks continue to hold their own, it sure as hell ain't because of the dinky-ass truck beds on those things. So, for me, the three that I'm looking forward to hitting the market the most are the Mazda CX-5, the Honda Pilot (HEADROOOOOOOOM), and the Nissan Murano (buh bye CVT). The ADX is interesting in principle, but between the over-wrought front end and the dropping roofline, 'tis unlikely I'd do more than climb in for a gander. Of course, that front end may look a LOT better in person to me than it does in pics.
Unrelated question, but Why Don't Cars Have Good Bumpers On Them? Not yelling, just emphatic. I don't care if it matches my paintjob. I live in the city. My car gets bumped
I’m out $12,500 for a transmission and $1650 for a fuel pump/sending unit on my 2016 Audi A3 Quattro. Only 94,000 miles. Audi’s will break down around the 100,000 mile mark. My advice, run
Plug-in EV's will still not be ready for prime time. The infrastructure is not there and will not be there. When are these car companies going to realize this?
What would be exciting would be a new Ford Sedan. I love my Ford Focus (2015) and have been waiting for Ford to come back to sedans. Not everyone wants a SUV!
How can you state that Nissan is among the "best" vehicles? With their horrible CVT transmission that can hardly last 50,000-60,000 miles, not to mention that the fit and finish has taken such a terrible downturn in the past few years!!! How are we supposed to take you seriously ?????????????????
I said that Mitsubishi has one of the best PHEV systems which may get used in the Rogue. I'm not sure how you interpreted that as me saying that Nissan makes the best vehicles. I've made plenty of videos criticizing Nissan's problematic CVTs. By the way, Nissan's new hybrid system wouldn't even have a transmission.
Mazda in the Japanese top 10 . The Hybrid using Toyotas is best choice. Although this new Cx5 and Subaru works w Toyota w hybrids and AWD too. Wtf? IS Subaru not master of AWD? And the Mitsubishi turbo part..? So Toyota is like Samsung family hlds 25% of entire st ate of S. KOREAN. BUT Toyota has their own City w all resources. Me too. I wish honda can come out with more colorful colors, they do in the European ones

Curious to see the redesign of the Mazda. Same with the Corolla.
All great until tht first payments hit you and you wonder was this a good decision or a impulse buy

That’s why I bought the CRV hybrid. Much refined drive and quiet interior than the RAV4 hybrid! Besides, the wait in our area was 1-1.5yr!
How is it not smooth driving? I have a 21 RAV4 hybrid and it’s the smoothest hybrid on the road.
