Guys! After getting a bunch of comments about it, it might be the primer and not the foundation. I will for sure try the EX1 again without the primer underneath to see if I have the same issues!! I will let you guys know!!

RawBeautyKristi I use a fan brush to apply my colourpop highlighters and it works really well for me! Hopefully that will work for you too :)
You should try primer on only one side of your face when you do first impressions with one🤗
Maybe try a brush as well? The foundation looked kind of oily at first in the bottle and it could not be mixing with the water from the sponge.
Kristi, I have the EX1 foundation and I like it, but there's a particular way it has to be applied: 1. less is more - one pump for the whole face looks good (more starts to look cakey) 2. this foundation doesn't like primers - apply without primer 3. It looks great applied with a flat top brush (for example from Sigma)

The lip colour looks really good on you! I feel like it’s still a fairly neutral colour even though it’s not a nude
Use the old school sponge tip shadow applicators with the super shock shadows. They apply more like using your finger but you can get them more precise.

I love the idea of trying out different primers, I also rarely use primer for the same reason, I just have no idea if they work or not!
I always thought of primers as more or less a layer of protection for skin from all the crap your putting on top and some also added benefits like moisture or kill redness. They seem pretty interchangeable to moisturizer tbh. I like them because I tend to get acne from make up and it helps for sure on that front but if your not naturally acne prone or not needing a layer of protection; moisturizer is cheaper.

When I use a Colourpop super shock highlighter I like to use a flat foundation brush to apply it because they are stiff and apply the pigment well but also blends the product well.

Kristi, for your skin type, I would really recommend you use a beauty oil on your entire face, especially on the under-eyes. A great oil that is really great for skin but won't cause any breakouts is rose-hip oil. I think you could also use Marula oil too (acnegenic people can't always use it but for dry skin, it's great). Drunk Elephant has 1oz (30ml) for about $100 but The Ordinary has 1oz (30ml) for less than $10 and from the many reviews out there, is just as good as Drunk Elephant's. An oil like either would make your skin and makeup look like a million bucks (but for your skin, I think Marula or Jojoba would be the best). I don't think your skin agrees with primers at all. I think your skin is possibly so dry and dehydrated, that primers just sit on top of it and make your makeup look cakey and move around.
This is my first time watching one of your videos. I must say I freaking love you! I feel like you are related to me (trying not to be a creep). You are hilarious, down to earth, and honest! I've watched other Beauty RUclipsrs but haven't really went back to their channels because they're all pretty similar. I have never seen a Beauty RUclipsr who is quite like you. You are very unique, beautiful, and real. Thank you!
That foundation looks AWFUL, but I've heard from a lot of people that the becca primer doesn't mesh well with a lot of different foundations, so it's possible that it's the primer.
I totally felt like setting sprays didn’t do anything for me until I tried the urban decay de-slick spray. I have a very oily t-zone and that spray does wonders!

The flexitarian is the most beautiful of the colour-pop Super Shock highlighters.
the becca prime is actually my go to primer. i love it more than any other primer bc of how hydrating it is and how it helps my foundation blend. but from what i'm reading, the EX1 foundation does best without a primer.

YUS! Do a whole video on primers and setting sprays please!! Like a full day wear video? I've heard if you moisturize, then you won't need a primer. Also, I know that you don't do hair videos but can you do a heat protectant video the same way?

I know I'm super late to the party, but I wanted to say that when you "pop" a pimple, if you don't sanitize the area (think sea breeze or something like that) after, the bacteria in acne, called propionibacterium acnes, or p. acnes, for short, can spread and cause more breakouts. That's probably why your one pimple turns into several. If you even see this, I hope it helps!

The same thing happened to me with the EX1 foundation! It just would not mix together. I ended up buying a new one and it was fine :/
Kristi, get some Mario Badescu's drying lotion (pink solution that looks separated....well actually, it is separated and is supposed to be) for that pimple that pops up here and here. It is the SHIT!! That zit won't be there long enough to pick. I used it so much and for so long (and it ain't cheap), I just started making my own and it works just as well but unless you're into making your own stuff, just go buy it. There are a few other companies that make the same thing....like to the point that every ingredient is exactly the same and in the same order. But Mario's was the original so most people stick to it. I swear it is a zit's worst nightmare.

I do my makeup in the guest bathroom and my cat curls up in the sink while I do it and tries to play with everything I put on the counter. I usually end up handing her an old eyeshadow brush to play with. She warms my heart.
