    Il mio bambino era incantato da questo brano. Quando è volato su una stella, a due anni e mezzo, al cimitero, mentre chiudevano la tomba, in sottofondo gli ho fatto ascoltare questa musica. Solo Mozart poteva scriverla, l'uomo-bambino che prendeva le note direttamente dalle stelle.

      Thank you! I made these mallets myself specifically for this excerpt. Plastic dowel handles. Aluminum ends, and rubber grips. Very light so that I can play with a fuller stroke. Thanks for watching!

    why do so many players want to stop the sustain at the end?

    • @MichaelLaMattinaPercussion
      @MichaelLaMattinaPercussion  11 месяцев назад +1

      I think it comes from habit at auditions. Percussionists generally only play this as an audition piece. In practice, it’s usually played by the orchestra’s keyboard player. Thanks for watching!

      @@MichaelLaMattinaPercussion oh older classical composers did not transpose glockenspiel parts right?

    • @alessandrogerlo
      @alessandrogerlo Год назад +10

      @@saratei99 actually this excerpt (and the whole opera at large) is to be played by the celesta, not the glockenspiel. Its a very difficult exceprt tho and for that it remains in many orchestras audition repertoire.

    • @quasimotolover911
      @quasimotolover911 Год назад +6

      @@alessandrogerlo it's actually played by a keyboard glockenspiel, similar to a celesta but with a glockenspiel inside
