Me to baseball from the 80s and 90s are great. I.hate interleague play. I hate the goofy new stadiums, I hate the new commentators. The great days of our nation are gone. Things are just getting worse...
The al was the al, and production and coverage was less childlike. Stadiums were historical monuments, and Americans played the American game. It was So special before Interleague play. 2020 on has been hard to watch. W this ghost man Cody clock, and selfish attitude of so many
I finally found this game on RUclips. This is one of my most vivid memories of Tiger Stadium. I was here with my dad on a summer Tuesday night with school done for the summer. As an 11-year old kid at the time, I never got to experience 84 (or 87) so the Tigers for the most part were lousy during my prime years growing up as a Tigers fan. But this game has always stood out for me to this day as a great memory and victory. We snuck into the lowers behind home plate in the late innings because the ushers didn’t seem to care and as others had mentioned, when the Indians came into town at this time, they had a huge amount of fans who came from Cleveland because you couldn’t get a ticket at Jacobs Field so the stadium was more full than usual. They were so cocky too so it was amazing to come back and beat them with sweet Lou’s walk-off haha. I never felt the stadium shake like that until that ball left the yard that night. Go Tigers!
Thanks for your message. I tell you what. I'm from Italy, and when some 26 years ago I got the tape of that game, and I saw that game and the way it ended... I really got emotional. I can really understand what you mean.
It's fascinating to see how much bigger the players were in just ten years since the Tigers won the World Series. And some people will still tell you steroids don't make a difference.
When the Indians used to come to Detroit, WHEN THEY GOT GOOD, money was made! Tiger Stadium would be FILLED, with Indian fans who couldn't get into Jacobs Field. PARTS OF TIGER STADIUM, that we were not allowed to ever go, WOULD BE OPEN FOR THEM! Tribe fans would take over, and CAMP OUT on the front lawn of the White Castle down the street! And my ex boss, a T-shirt maker, took the Tigers off his shirts, and inserted the Indians LOGO, and he COULDN'T MAKE ENOUGH SHIRTS! They were starved for a winner, and they got it! BUT WHEN ASKED, why they didn't adopt the Braves-FSU CHOP, they said "WE HAVE THE TOM TOM MAN"! Boy, that worked out so well for them! BUT THIS WAS A FUN ERA! And this was the era when the Great Ernie Harwell, came back, but to the Tv broadcasting booth of the Tigers!
This was the first year of the 6 division format and the first year of the central division. While Detroit's main rival the Cleveland Indians moved to the then-newly formed American League Central Division, the Tigers still remain in the American League Eastern Division until 1997.
MJTheDJ1964 I am hearing the tiger's announcers. most importantly, Ernie Harwell doing the tv call and not radio. ernie does play by play innings 1,2,3, 7,8,9. Jim Price does 4,5,6.
You ain't kidding! Was pleasantly surprised as a Tiger fan to see them pull out a comeback win on the dominant Indians of that era. And in such dramatic fashion at that. Great stuff :)
Yeah Cleveland was really bad that year vs the top teams. The Yankees, orioles, white sox And royals they were 12-24 and were 15-14 I. The second half. They were fading the Orioles would have won the wild card and the whit Sox would have won the division.
@@alwillk They were 7-4 in August-, so "fading" might be putting it a little strongly. Plus they had 30 of their last 49 at the Jake. I think they would've made the playoffs and lost to NYY in the division series. The Yankees owned them that year. I don't think they had the pitching to get there in '94. But I do not think the Tribe were fading at the strike.
I'm a older man and I just miss baseball from this era. Kenny lofton was amazing

Thank you.
Ernie on the call. Doesn't get any better than that
Lou Whitaker walk off grand slam. He should be in the Hall of Fame
Michael Hudson wow sweet Lou isn’t in the hall of fame? Now that’s a crime if I’ve ever heard one
💯
I love your channel; the 90s were when I came to love baseball.
thanks. That is for me too.
That's the way to celebrate a win. No tackling, pouring gatoride, or tearing off shirts. The good ole' days.
Baseball has some problems but celebrating is not one of them.
No carrying a pizza spear in the dugout or a hockey stick and a fake slap shot. Yes these guys had more class than the modern athlete

Love watching old Indian baseball games….Lofton, Visquel, a great one two!
Love that siren at the end. I remember watching that exact finish when I was a kid.
Ernie Harwell is a National treasure. Great to hear him call a game again,
Thank you

Travis Fryman was one of my favorite Tigers ever.
Fryman was one of my favorite Indians players, too.
Rest in peace Cleveland Indians.
Right On
A fantastic ball game!
I never went to sleep without knowing how the tigers finished

yes it was the first year of the 3 divisions. Unfortunately, no wild card because of no playoffs at all.
Felix Fermin and Reggie Jefferson for Omar Vizquel. What the hell was Seattle thinking?
2:38:24 for the walk-off
Let's Go! #Cleveland Guardians 💙❤️
Boooooo
very good channel more indians games please 1994 if you can
Thanks a lot. I will look . I hope to have it
Herb Score on Jason Grimsley "the difference with him now is that he has confidence". Haha....STERIODS!!
This is 4 years before he was on the juice. Geez...
Herb, as usual, was right - - he was pitching well, clean and with confidence.

I’m a tigers fan but man what kid didn’t love Albert belle? Dude was a stud and I loved his stance
great ending!

94' World Series😔
Montréal vs Cleveland
I disagree, White Sox would have won the division and beat Cleveland in a playoff series.
Yeah Cleveland was really bad that year vs the top teams. The Yankees, orioles, white sox And royals they were 12-24 and were 15-14 I. The second half. They were fading the Orioles would have won the wild card and the whit Sox would have won the division.

Those dugouts at Tigers Stadium looked pretty small and cramped.
ONLY, for guys like the BIG UNIT, and Tony Clark!
They were damn near 90 years old. What can you do?
It was built in 1912
Same as Fenway park opened the same day as Fenway
Do you the hear the audio of this video correctly ? It seems low to me
