I still think that the typical rendering engines are superior in output quality. But idk if it should be compare to real-time engines are they are a different category of software. For a reference, each one of these images shown in the video took around 2 minutes to render in 4k. And that wouldn’t be the case in Corona or Vray. More quality and slower renderings VS slightly lower quality but super fast renderings
@@ricbattaglia6976 I've got an RTX 4070ti. I posted a Shorts with all of the specs here: ruclips.net/user/shorts44uh2S-Rlp8?si=vvfWTFrZhFYfISz_ Usually, all real-time renderers rely on the GPU power. And I know that a typical render engine that uses CPU would've taken hours to render the same scene. Sure with some extra quality in the process, but also requiring much more tinkering on the settings to achieve the desired result. It's about seeing what makes more sense for your specific workflow as there are no wrong or right choices here.

@@LearnUpstairs thanks for the reply, the D5 studio presets works on the pro version.and it can not save presets from your own project on the free version.
@@shynnsup8383 Well, all major engines are able to achieve high quality results! In will depend on your preference I guess. But in my opinion, there’s a clear difference between how light and shadow are produced in D5 and Enscape. Even though both a real time engines, D5 looks more real. And then of course if you count the scatter, then the competition is not fair 😂
@@LearnUpstairs I haven't noticed any big different in terms of light and shadows. The sky model is practically the same. With D5 making really unrealistic pixelated clouds that like like brushstrokes... not sure what is up with that. There is also not option for water displacement either while Enscape has a nice water preset. I don't think D5 is a proper real time engine. All they have done is automatized the export function. You gotta export your scene every time into D5 and it takes ages. Every single change you make in your scene, you gotta click 'synchronize live updates' otherwise it does not update. With big models it actually can take minutes to update the scene. Under the hood they are re-exporting the entire scene all over again. The integration with Rhino is also terrible. For instance the render window does not stay on top of your Rhino window. Also, all rhino objects get grouped into a single one inside D5 unless you have previously assigned individual materials to each, basically forcing you to assign materials twice: once inside Rhino and the other inside D5. I can actually use Grasshopper to scatter Enscape trees and lights, so it is really not a big deal either.
That's exactly my thoughts! I always had my eyes on D5, but was waiting until it actually checked all the boxes I needed in terms of quality and features. Oh and also I needed a better computer to work with real-time renders, so I just upgraded my setup to be able to handle D5 haha
@@LearnUpstairs I remember like 3 years ago when I saw for the first time, the quality looked ok but it lacked something but now it looks like its quality has improved a lot. I already ditched lumion for TM but I'll keep an eye on D5 👀
Actually there is limitation in free version: you can save render only in .png format no .jpg or other formats. For me is .png in most cases unnecessarily large.
I didn’t know that! On the website it lists only that Pro version allows you to save .tga .tif and .exr which are not as used for simple things. But if the free version saves only .png a quick run through photoshop should take care of this pretty easily. Or even Gimp as a free option. Nonetheless, thanks for bringing this to my attention!
Everything is ok except crash shotdowns... In recent UPD guys fixed it but it still remained. RTX technology is best part of last contribution of NVidia!

D5 had perceptual license before, right? now I checked and its subsription, its really a shame D5 also try to be like subscription based companies after first getting attention by perceptual license... So thats one of the reasons I wont prefer it. The people who bought it before perceptual license is gone, are lucky really. So, its really sad that they dont give users a option to choose perceptual license with limited 1-2 year update while also allowing for subcription models as well so people can decide which one to use, its not that hard to make perceptual licenses to have limited update years then making people pay less amount to update after 1-2 year, that should be a nice way, thats why I ll prefer epic games all the way because they are not like other companies who seem money-focused by subscription model. Actually it doesnt make difference, Its simple, if they sell monthly, its total price for 2 year update is similar to other softwares perceptual price, so its equal profit to 2 year subscription, and probably people will wanna upgrade it later by paying again with half amount to not miss new features or they can choose to stick with old feature if they are in a unstable condition to renew license to upgrade. So it wouldnt be a big profit issue if they put limit to upgrades but it just make user feel like he didnt lend the software and gives more motivation. So its really sad to see that D5 didnt turn out different.
No offense, but when oliver did a video about lumion being able to render in isometric views i just couldn't understand, even at the time. It's been years now and d5 render and twinmotion literally killed lumion. Whoever it's still using that shit is simply behind in the industry innovations. For oliver, better late than ever. And i still think twinmotion and unreal will be the kings of archviz in 5-10 years, even d5 will become more niched. As for the casual architect, sketchup + free render engine + enhancer AI will do the job for little to no price and much less time consuming (both learning and doing)
No offense taken! It’s all part of the game. You know… Sometimes I need to look at a software update and compare it only to its previous version. This is so I can speak to that specific audience that is going to keep using the same software and is not necessarily looking for the best and greatest engine available. That specific video about isometric in Lumion that you’re mentioning was my first video of Lumion. I had to start somewhere, right? Introducing a new program (new to me at that time) isn’t that easy. Everyone has different opinions as you can see in this comment section and on other videos as well. So it’s not up to me to impose and dictate what is the best solution for all architects around the world. But I do appreciate a strong opinion like yours! It takes the discussion to another path.
@@LearnUpstairs yeah, I'm very happy to know you understand that. Me being this kind of person, not always proud about it… it just sucks when a creator can't let some aspects of my hard comments go and take for him what matters. Im very glad to see you aren't one of those cases. Having your opinion validated and also getting an respectful critic is what makes me want to improve the most. Keep up the great work as always and thanks a lot!
would have been interesting if it was PBR and not some realtime bs, for photorealism this is useless. sure, it looks "fine" on first impact but if you were to make the same scene on let's say, vray, the difference would be night and day.
i don't know how people can say that renders made with d5, lumion or twinmotion are looking good. On the first look the pictures look so unreal that this can't be the approach of somebodys visualization.
That's an interesting and new point of view to me. I have honestly seen a lot of progress in all major rendering engines in the market. If you take an image produced 5-10 years ago they look a lot different. The stylistic choices I made with these images obviously have an impact on the outcome... but I'd say that part from that they mimic light, shadow, reflections, and materiality in a realistic way. But I'm curious to know what type of images you would consider a good alternative to an architecture project. Is there a specific software you're referring to?
Yep! But the free version can’t be used for comercial things. So you can use as much as you need, and when commissions start coming in and you get paid, you can switch to the pro version and get all the features. You may want to check D5s website to see all of the differences between the free and pro version

For a reference, each one of these images shown in the video took around 2 minutes to render in 4k. And that wouldn’t be the case in Corona or Vray.
More quality and slower renderings VS slightly lower quality but super fast renderings
@@LearnUpstairs Which harware for 2minutes? rtx4090? Do uou use only gpu, right? how much slower qualityThanks
@@ricbattaglia6976 I've got an RTX 4070ti. I posted a Shorts with all of the specs here: ruclips.net/user/shorts44uh2S-Rlp8?si=vvfWTFrZhFYfISz_
Usually, all real-time renderers rely on the GPU power. And I know that a typical render engine that uses CPU would've taken hours to render the same scene. Sure with some extra quality in the process, but also requiring much more tinkering on the settings to achieve the desired result.
It's about seeing what makes more sense for your specific workflow as there are no wrong or right choices here.
@@LearnUpstairs Do you teach D5? I know vray quality with gpu, (the same of cpu but faster i think), how mich lower is D5 quality? Speed expecially in realtime is better, of cours; with your gpu how many FPS do you have in realtime?
Nice..I used Lumion but planning to move to D5..need to get a new good laptop...lol..
does it have smthng for anti tiling?
Is it possible with Mac?
How this soft is compered to keyshot ? Does some one has an opinion ? Kinda curious if it's also used for product rendering
This software is insane😮, the interior render is 10 time more better than twinmotion😊
It's amazing
lol don't make me laugh
in the same weight class perhaps.
Though to call it ten times better than a software that has few competitors just sounds either ignorant or having ulterior motive.
@@aylalubben8536 i don't know what's wrong with you, i don't care by the way, but i have tested all best realtime render software, UE 5, Lumion, twinmotion, Blender, D5, and it comes that D5 gives me 10 better performances for real time interior design than twinmotion, i don't care if you're not agree, it's the truth and that's all
Can you upload this project on D5 render scene? Thanks
Unfortunately I can’t. The project isn’t mine to share like this. There authors are the architecture firm I mentioned (Vaga Arquitetura).
For a next video on D5 I’ll make sure to create something unique that can be shared!
how does it compare to lumion?
Great question! Maybe I should do a video comparing them. Like doing the same image with both software to see how it comes out.
@@LearnUpstairs that sounds like a great video idea
D5 is better than lumion
Hi, friend. Can you give me a rendering tutorial with real photos vs D5 render software because I am currently using the pro version of D5 render. Thank You
D5 or Twinmotion?
it insane but it need high graphics but its good for me it is the best rendering software I ever see
dose D5 studio work on pro version?it is not working on the free one.
It's a new feature so I don't if it's included in the free version. But it's working fine on the Pro version. We should reach out to D5 support to know more about this.
@@LearnUpstairs thanks for the reply, the D5 studio presets works on the pro version.and it can not save presets from your own project on the free version.

is the software standalone or web based
Standalone! Check the first lin in the description to check more on their website.
I updated my d5 and it got super laggy u__u
Unreal engine 5 is the best of rendering for sure
I see no advantage to use D5 over Enscape honestly. Except the scatter tool, which I don't use as often.
Damn, it's quality has improve a lot!, since the first time i saw it. I'll stick to Twinmotion BUT that Live sync with blender is tempting haha
Png is what you want. Png is lossless so that's normal. Convert is super easy
Everything is ok except crash shotdowns... In recent UPD guys fixed it but it still remained. RTX technology is best part of last contribution of NVidia!
renders look like they are upahead than unreal
So its really sad to see that D5 didnt turn out different.
yes, i like to buy also. not rent.
@@izoyt yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
the quality would never be accepted with my clients thats for sure.
Is there a specific software you're referring to?
you shoukd give examples of a good render, cuz for me at least this is way way above the average quality of a normal render
Vantage is better
all are good except it looks too sharp and fake.
is it really free?
Yep! But the free version can’t be used for comercial things. So you can use as much as you need, and when commissions start coming in and you get paid, you can switch to the pro version and get all the features.
You may want to check D5s website to see all of the differences between the free and pro version
