As a manager for the team from 1977 through 1979, i do not remember missing any practice days on the field in Memorial Stadium because of rain or snow. I do remember many a cold dark afternoon assisting Coach Novak. Very happy that the new athletes have such a nice facility in which to spend their time as an Illini.

I think I have seen all of the college football facilities that this channel has done. From top to bottom this has been been my favorite one. The players lounge was sweet and I love the brick weight room.

You know, for the folks complaining about facilities for athletes, mainly football. For a lot of schools, football pays for all the other sports including women's sports. TV dollars bring in money for the programs AND for the school (library upgrades, money for general scholarship funds, etc). More exposure brings donors for not just sports programs but other facilities. Honestly dont get the hate.

This damn school better start winning championships in both basketball and football to justify the cost of these facilities. It's absurd that IL being the premier collegiate sports institution in the state doesn't have multiple national championships in both basketball and football given its proximity to the Chicagoland area with all the great athletes coming out of that area. No more losing our best athletes to out of state schools. Capiche?
