Arguably the best opening to a TV show in the history of American television, and that’s saying something. Iconic. The ultimate 1970s American sound. That solo alto sax sound just screams “mean streets.”
Karl Malden long time Great American! actor and well-known commercial spokesman for (American Express credit card) and Michael Douglas became an Internationally known personality as Well!... Those were "Good Ole Days!" 🕵♂️ 👨🌾
Every time I play this it reminds me of watching this as a kid on TV in England with my wonderful Mom and Dad who are both with the angels now and it makes me feel happy but sad sometimes I think it was aired on a Saturday night and the series was so iconic back then Great entertainment
@joanne26, same here but with my late grandmother. Also, when I went to California in 1989, I actually had the opportunity to visit San Francisco, and I had a blast, including experiencing an earthquake in 1989 (Oct 17th)
With this version, as you enjoy the infectious groove, if you want you can add your own voice-over to see how close you can get to the dude who did it on the show. Only thing missing is...tonight's episode........Something Something.
I went there once as a harpist in a disco owned by one Sam Plank. When I went home I realised I'd forgotten the instrument. Yes - I left my harp, in Sam Plank's disco.

I like this version
So cool, so funky
This is probably the best musical use of 1:24 I've ever heard!
My Mom loved this show too and every detective show on the planet possible and I'm a fan too
Inspectors 81 to headquarters, Buddy boy, Mike!, Steve!
Lieutenant Mike Stone looks like Dick Tracy. Good show though. I love it.
Right "Buddy Boy?"
You have a crusty old detective lieutenant, Mike Stone and an up and coming pretty boy inspector, Steve Keller.
Tonight’s Episode
A TROUT IN THE MILK
Police Squad in color 😂

Awesome theme
My favorite part is seeing the American Motors Javelin with the AMX stripes!
Say brown chicken brown cow really quickly & you have this theme.
*JAZZ FUNK!!!*
Ah the days when Quinn Martin did everything
And all we get is Taggart...
It's No Mean City and there's been a murrderr - nobody move
american express, never leave home without it
I've always felt the opening theme to Streets of San Francisco was heavily influenced by Issac Haye's sensational, Oscar-winning Shaft theme song.
Série excelente anos 70👏👏👏👏👏👏👍🇺🇸.

When San Francisco was a cool place and not full of entitled jokesters
before the .coms killed everyrhing in san fran
