@@cherylween4973You don’t realize that when they move you to apps like Google Chat, WhatsApp etc, they literally wake up in the morning and copy and paste the same exact “good morning babe” etc to hundreds of women . They like to keep all their victims in one spot, so they can easily copy and paste to many at the same time. You clearly must not know much about how scammers work lol.
Leah's first husband died by suicide. Her second was killed by the police. The 3rd cheated. It sounds like Leah has a lot of unrecognized grief. She really could use professional counseling.
👍💯for real, but it’s when she said “oh,why am I so unlovable “that’s what had me bawling 😭 too because that’s how I felt sometimes and I’m black and 62 years old…🤷♀️😏 I’m rooting for her 👍👍👍👍👍👍🙏
This lady has to stay strong, pray a lot, and in time, things will get easier to deal with. Some losses you can't get over you just learn to live with it. ❤My 1st fiance died in a car crash, my husband died when he was misdiagnosed with mild dehydration, and my third husband died in a car crash, and all three of my children. I've gotten help, and time helps, but I still struggle, especially for birthdays and holidays. I have a support system but they don't truly understand because none of them has lost any of their children or husbands. Like anything else, they're around at first and only for a little while because they have their own lives to tend to. I had decided to try to foster/ adopt, and a scammer got me. It's been almost three years, and after contacting over a hundred people for help, I'm still at the starting point. The DA said that I slipped through the cracks, apologized, and still wouldn't prosecute or make them return anything. With all of my proof, the laws are in favor of the criminals, not the victim. If I see them again, I may end up in prison because I've already lost everything. I'm going to keep fighting because I deserve to be a mom, and there's a child somewhere who needs me just like I need them.
Common sense is no longer common. I have a had a Facebook friend for three years, never have either of us asked for money. He's never called me queen or asked me about eating. We talk sports, movies..... Oh and he has never been stranded, held hostage or worked on an oil rig 😊😊 Edit. I had to come back and add, He actually was in the military for 25 years. I know he was stationed in Hawaii and never once was he stranded, hungry or homeless.
Everyone needs a friend like Art/Vlad! Just the way that whole team physically surrounded Leah and lent her their strength- it was so heartwarming to see. You guys are awesome.
My heart broke while I watched this. I cried along with you. When you said, “why am I so unlovable?”, it tore my heart out. I’ve felt the same way. I’m just a simple widow woman from Oklahoma but I would be proud to be your friend.
@Bunny-ur8fd Have you ever been so depressed, so desperate for affection, that you didn't see the signs? Ever been drawn in by a Casanova who tells you everything you ever wanted to hear? And then once you're entangled, turn up the charm even higher to convince you to give up EVERYTHING? No? Then don't judge
@@gretchen8100 I’ve never been in a situation where I would believe this nonsense. Being depressed and lonely wanting a companion very badly or suffering with grief and pain does not make a person stupid. Of course it can make a person very vulnerable and lower cognitive functioning as far as decision making and making bad decisions, but none of that makes a person so stupid they would really fall for this crap and give away money to a Nigerian voice or a picture of a person they know darn well IS NOT someone that would give them a second look or thought. Most…not all…of these people should know better. It’s becomes a level of stupidity and then making a choice to continue to believe. And to answer your question, I have felt that down but never would believe this nonsense. I’m not dumb enough to go online to look for a date and I certainly do not respond to the many “friend” requests I do not know on face book. Common sense…..

@@affectivity1 his real name is Art Kulik, he's Russian. Vlad is short for Vladimir, which is one of the most popular names used in Russia, so he uses that name in how he introduces himself to scammers to conceal his identity.
You can't love someone you have never met, my dear lady. If they haven't met you face to face and yet say they love you, it means they're after your money.
I love how Vlad treats the victims like he's their big brother lol. He does not play!! It was truly heartbreaking seeing what this scammer put her through. I really hope she had/has the strength to let him go for good. She seems like a lovely woman and deserves so much better!!
Definitely heartbreaking but in my opinion it just seems like empty threats idk how many times he said he was gonna end the call or break his neck if he didn’t show his face to the point you know it’s empty threats….
My 82 year old FIL did. He saw their pictures so they HAD to be real (in his mind). Walmart quit letting him use Western Union or Money gramma services. It didn't help cuz they started asking for gift cards. When he died, we found HUNDREDS of gift cards with the codes exposed. He had re re mortgaged the house & got behind. My husband would not inherit the house. When my husband lost his job a few months later, he took his life. I've started dating again after 3 years, but it's a guy I physically met lRL. I don't trust on-line "Hey babes" messages. Instant block!! I'm gonna be ok no matter what. To hell with these scam spam eggs & ham guys trying to play women! 🔥
Thank you guys for helping this woman. This guy is a professional scammer. He knows exactly how to rope these women in. Thank you guys for helping her. ❤
@@someguyinthe540you realize that she didn’t even know what the money was and she didn’t know that it was stolen at all! She is a victim of that lowlife scumbag waste of skin loser and his lies, thievery, and manipulation just like the people who have lost their money and she lost something that is worth more than any amount of money she lost her trust in humanity and the trust in herself and so much more that no amount of money can bring back. The people who lost their money she’s gonna help them get it back by showing all of the transactions and helping with the investigation so they are all going to be able to move on and get everything back but she won’t be able to do the same because there’s no way for her to get back what was stolen from her and only a lowlife loser like the scammer would try to say that she’s guilty like the scammer is. Good thing you don’t have a picture because then people around you would know that you are a loser if they seen this ignorant comment that you posted.
How lucky that there are people like them helping... in Portugal there are so many frauds and no one does anything... me and 2 colleagues discovered people, reported them and still the police do nothing.
What a beautiful soul Leah is. Kudos to her for calling him out and saying "this isn't about what YOU want. It's about what I want". She will heal from this and find happiness. She is much stronger than she realizes. You guys are awesome.

She is one of the few that didn’t come off completely stupid but the only one to keep repeating that she is. She was manipulated and in love. These scammers are such psychopaths
She came off Hella dumb what you talkn bout. She saw all the red flags and ignored them. She dint even care about all the money she lost, she just wanted to see his face! Even after knowing it was all fake and a scam
"Why am I so unlovable?" That breaks my heart to hear that said by any woman who doesn't realize their worth. Leah is such a gem who deserves the world, but no man in her life YET can handle her shine. I just want to give Leah a hug...
@ErinRogoff No man can "handle" her shine? What non sense are you talking about? You ppl live in a fantasy world. She keeps picking the wrong ppl, she needs to take accountability for that. She said it herself, she wants it all, she wants a perfect man, yet shes way off from being perfect herself. She wants the perfect man while not doing any work, shes overweight and working at 711 or whatever she said overnight, at her age. Come on.... The delusion is crazy. Her life will get better when her ego comes back down to earth and realize shes never going to find a perfect man. No one is perfect, man or woman. Ppl who say crap like what you said are the kind of friends who will keep their friends single forever.
Getting educated in manipulative techniques, narcissistic abuse and coercive control is absolutely crucial! Red flags, gaslighting, future faking, emotional and magical thinking, discarding and hoovering... this stuff needs to be taught and understood in school already. You are an amazing team of predator busting heroes!
All of a sudden everybody is an expert on narcissistic personality disorder. Like it’s a fad. It’s a serious clinical condition that shouldn’t be ascribed to every jerk. Sometimes assholes are just assholes and has nothing to do with NPD. It sounds nice and fancy to type definitions and words that you googled but as someone who has studied NPD its annoying to see everyone calling every person with bad behaviour a “narcissist”, with no clinical assessment of these people.
For people to manipulate someone like this is dangerous. Emotions are a powerful thing, and to weaponize them is probably the lowest of the low. The depression from this could make someone end their life. I'm so glad you helped this lady. Everyone needs and is deserving of love and for her to say, "Why am I so unlovable?" was heartbreaking 💔 😢
It's not tht your "unlovable " it's tht you BELIEVE YOUR UNLOVABLE you married way way to early I did too I married a west african who lied to and abused me for 16+yrs I accepted it because of childhood trauma like wht she talked about and worse I was a nurse I told ppl not to accept D.V and were the shelter was by day but went home to D.V and severe verbal abuse every day I lived 2 lives but it let me "see" the west african world these scammers come from I listened to conversations were we getting our pay back etc they were getting repaid for slavery they say they feel bad they go to church ask for forgiveness then they are back at it the next day
The way Vlad was just caring for Leah was so sweet oh my gosh. My heart goes out to the crew for helping Leah and Leah for setting her emotions and priorities first and ending this! God bless ❤️
I love the collab of Social Catfish and Trilogy Media. They're both professional and also very caring. (Btw, It was so sweet of them to pick small pieces of tissues off her face. ) I'm heartbroken for this victim. She's a beautiful soul. Best wishes
Most of the scammed people that I see on this show are really unlikeable - but Leah seems like a truly good person with a shitload of trauma who was sold on a dream, or on the idea of one. I hope that she gets some good therapy and can find a genuinely happy relationship.
It’s even worse when you know that cascade locks burnt to the ground a couple years ago and everyone who lived there had to leave for awhile and rebuild. They don’t mention it here so idk if this was actually put together before the fires or after, either way she’s been through losing everything to that fire if she was there through that too and sounds like she’s lived there for years so this woman has been through so much loss and grief and loss of belongings to have someone do this too. I just can’t imagine how awful she must feel having fallen for a scammers bs like this. I hope she can heal from everything and is surrounded by people who actually care and don’t hurt her further. Just a sad situation.
SHOUTOUT to Leah for setting aside her own feelings and becoming an example to prevent others from going through the same. It's never too late to get out.
Nah. All she need is some one to message and act like they care for her and she gonna fall in love. She got herself in this situation cus she couldn't go with out having a bf. She saw all the red flags, just ignored them all. Even when she found out he was a scammed she was still calling him honey and baby and shii. She wanted to see his face so bad, dint even matter bout the money she lost
Art handled the situation like a pro. When you have such strength, empathy and confidence like Art, and use those powers for the purpose of good, then you are not only a hero. Art is a superhero. Great collaboration with the other heroes, too.
Vlad represents the epitome of platonic guy friend “big bear” energy and I love it so much! “ do you know what we do in Russia when you hurt our friends”!!!!!!!!!!! I want to buy him a bottle of vodka and give him a hug!
She's still the problem somehow, as she never allowed herself to fully heal from her past before entering a new relationship. It's why she's attracting these kind of men. There should still be accountability.
I believe evil purposely goes after good people to try and destroy them. It's how they get their ya ya's out. It's his job to woo and get women to fall in love with him to get his paycheck from her! They're demonic. @@krazon5270
The scammer was just trying to get her to forgive him so he can do part II of the scam. Part II is the scammer pretending to love her as himself to siphon more $ from her.
Yep, he immediately started saying, “Okay, so help me get to America so I can be a real provider” but we all know he ain’t coming to America, no matter how much money she sends.
He would get to America and ghost her, then he would start scamming American women, it’s easier for them to scam in U.S, I really pitied those women taking African boys to U.S

I’m so glad I found this channel. I can get educated on this. I’m so sorry for this woman. Literally this can happen to anybody, you can tell she had the best of intentions and deeply loved this person. He is disgusting, despicable, and evil.
Imagine getting so many red flags in a 'relationship' and still going through with it because you are in such deep need of just being unconditionally loved like you are deserving of. My heart goes out for her I wish I could give her a hug.
@@sylviemorgan9770 You're right. Feeling vulnerable just after the death of a spouse. Widows and widowers are pursued relentlessly because they are incredibly vulnerable. Children have left home now, that is a particularly vulnerable time, feeling alone. Just divorced, that is a prime time for these criminals to get their claws in. The psychological aspect of this particular crime is very apparent and is why it often works so well. A colleagues friend's mother was caught up in this type of scam, it bankrupted her and then broke her heart. They used a Military identity as a lure. The mother committed suicide.😥
Leah is the kind of isolated and vulnerable person scammers target. She didn't question his strong Nigerian accent. Her loneliness and need for love were manipulated by the scammer. My heart goes out to Leah and the others who lose themselves with scammers like this.
Even when people are surrounded by friends and family they can still fall victim. As soon as loved ones ask the real questions, the victim goes into protective mode because they don't want to believe they're being lied to. I watched the same group help a woman who was married and had drained everything she and her husband had because the scammer told her she was pretty. Remarkably the husband was happy to forgive her, he said well it's only money. But it wasn't just money, it was the horrible deceit and her creeping around undoing all their finances to keep the scammer satisfied so the wife could get her daily hit of Mr Wonderful phoning. The scammer in that case had used a photo that looked a little bit like Brad Pitt and just started talking to her on social media, I don't think it was a dating site.
Forgot to say, I agree loneliness is usually a big factor, but in the married couple case the husband was devoted to his wife, they had no kids just cats and dogs....plus her quirks, she openly admitted to being obsessed with male genitals. She collected all kinds of things shaped like it including the pasta, which I presume they ate. The wife wasn't lonely, but when she thought a good looking hunk was interested in her, she became hooked straight away like a drug addict and the fantasy created by the scam, was the drug. It's scary how us humans can become easily trained to do crazy things. This wife wasn't physically attractive (am not being mean here, but it's a big part of how she ended up in that situation). For her being told she was pretty by some man with a handsome photo was like an immediate hit of intoxication so exquisitely sweet for her, that it kept her coming back with more and more thousands for him. But if her adoring husband had told her the same words she would've just laughed because he was attainable and married to her, not some far off mysterious hunk drawn to her beauty and captivated by her conversation....or so she thought....but seriously, I think a little part her brain knew the truth but the ego was having such a good time, so decided to keep it going knowing complete financial and marital ruin were almost inevitable. I felt so sorry for the husband, hopefully she appreciated him when she the cameras went away and she finally stopped crying. I just hope she didn't go looking for that ego hit again and find another scammer. It's a really interesting episode to watch if you can find it.
Thank you for all you do!! 14 years ago I was scammed for everything I had. I was 57 years old and have never been able to earn the money back!!! I HOPE that one day the FBI Can be involved and get rid of this despicable practice!!
Well, it has spread all over the world and seemingly there are millions of women ready to shut down their logical thinking (most of them being quite ‘naive’ to say the least) to protect the romantic love from all doubt. And as they pay their private money voluntarily, only organisations like this one, not the FBI, CIA and other state associations can go against the scammers- unless they use money mules who then can be investigated for money laundering or because they are illegal by the police.
Leah seems like such a good person. I won't be surprised if REAL people watching this would like to get to know her and connect with her in a genuine way if they had a chance. There's someone out there for you, girl. I'm so sorry.
No Leah, you aren't worthless and useless, you're a strong woman who lived and survived a lot. Yea it's though to see this and to see her going trough it. Thank you trilogy and social catfish for doing this for her. This one hit hard for me . Stay strong and you live through this.

I just noticed this video is 9 months ago. I can’t help but wonder if Leah is okay ❤I’m praying for her. But can you guys do a part two on Leah’s story? Of all the stories like Leah’s. Leah’s story hurts the most so heart touching!
Compared to the other romance scam I'm just glad that this person isn't in denial. That first video had a person who could not have their mind changed. Hope this new person gets justice.
I feel for this woman. People need to careful. If a man you met online is asking you for money, it's a red flag. Run for your life. I don't care how much love they profess to you. It's heartbreaking that some people are still falling for online love scammers despite series of awareness.
I agree with you 💯. Any man who I met on line asking me for money! From there I know it's a RED flag.. I have been on many dating sites and have encounter many scenarios. Honestly I would let the person on the other end do all the chatting. I would play with him because by all means. However I get to figured out scammers very good. Questions they asked. (What I do for a living, their camera 📸 is broken, they on a oil rig ship. They're in Afghanistan and they cannot video chat because of top secret. Well what ? Gift cards. No way in hell I blocked them... I'm very sorry for Leah. Lots of innocent people lost their life savings ! Homes business etc to scammers. They happy doing wickedness to others... I hope Karma will meet them and not their children or family...
Hi Leah I’m sorry so sorry for your pain! I understand what you are going through. I was scammed by a guy from Kenya! Watching your story brings back memories of the pain I endured after he broke my heart! 3 years he was scamming me. My son is the one that exposed him. I want to tell you give yourself as long as you want to grieve. I understand that you lost a lot that day you learned that the love of your life wasn’t the love of your life. I promise myself I would never date online again. But I did and your story made me remember the promise I made to myself ❤❤❤I know a lot of women going through this and it’s gotta stop once and for all.
Dear Leah, I've been watching a family member being scammed for years. The fact you came to the truth in only six months says a lot about you. There's a real-life waiting for a special person like you, go out and enjoy it.
I’m sure we have many Australians are done dirty too by these people but we are a small country and different law and maybe even scared people to have people like these do such a amazing job we just have fraud lines, report line, banks pay us back straightaway once they know that it’s a fraud then they chase it etc
You are not a fool. Romance scams are based on psychological manipulation and anyone can get caught. You are an amazing, brave and wonderful woman. You are enough. You are lovable and deserve to be loved. Thank you for your courage in sharing this story. I’m sending you lots of love.
My adult daughter has been caught in the same kind of scam. Posed as a recently deceased pop star. Has been threatening her. She suffered brain damage and is gullible for these predators. Sickens me to see people preyed on by criminals. Keep up the great job.
The men who allways have big problem's expecting others whom they haven't even met yet, and probably never will, have to realise when someone keeps constantly needing help from them, should be prepared to leave, this is no relationships, the lady should go out enjoy herself be happy make friend's then her loneliness will soon be over, my heart goes out to this lady x
It’s especially good to see Leah’s decision to face the truth after seeing Jodi. These women could have used the money for self care, the person they were in love with was a fantasy created the women created. The only difference is there’s a putrid man who puts repeats a few scripted lines with very little effort.
The deep fake video of him is actually horrific it’s going to only get worse from here that is so obviously fake but the elderly are at RISK of fake FAMILY members and all kinds of scams it’s terrible
Nothing wrong!?!? A dude you've never seen, sends a pic of a ring after 1 month of chatting, and this grown-ass woman decides she's engaged? How old is she, 14? How about getting her fat butt off that chair, throw the cigarrettes, quit the victimhood, get a job so you dont live of wellfare and then she won't have the time to be scammed by spending hours a day on the internet.
are you joking? how somebody can be so stupid to send so much money he or she never saw. No video chat. In this moment somebody ask for money you dont know its scam, so how somebody can be so fu stupid?
I want to give that amazing lady a huge hug and a standing ovation . she's so strong and courageous. you guys did an incredible job with this case and I hope the scammer gets what's coming to him. …. yes I cried when the lady did... twice...
OMG this episode really tugged at my heartstrings. I'm a 70-year-old computer technician who takes care of roughly 75 or 85 elderly clients with mostly simple computer stuff. One of my clients got scammed not once but twice out of a total of almost $80,000! She felt desperately alone after the loss of her husband and believed she had to have someone in her life, so much so that it blunted her intelligence and self-preservation instincts. This was a very smart woman who did very well in the real estate market, but these guys, especially the second one, were con artists of the highest order and very talented, in both cases they spent extended amounts of time, over a year the second time, gradually grooming this women until they got to the send me money part of the game. Please do not feel bad that this guy got you - they get many many people no matter how intelligent they are by sensing a weak spot and going after it with everything they have.
This one got to me. I don’t know if it’s because she had no idea why anyone would do this to her , or how strong she was in stopping “Chris”. She won’t hear from him again after this! I hope all of them leave her alone once she has a new SSN. Bless her. She’s very brave about her pain.
I remember being victim in the same exact way. But wasn't turned into cla cash mule no, my bank account was overdrawn by $12,000.00 or less and fake checks were sent to my FedEx after believing in a female companion in what I thought was legit, and am mentally impaired and can't distinguish the difference very well.. and nearly got arrested myself but the bank wanted to hear me out on my side of the story first before filing a judgement against me.. I can completely relate to this woman and I'm in Long Beach CA.. this happened to me when I used to live in Texas.. I've been victim to something completely different that's why I'm in California my mental disabilities were used against me to cash fake checks that looked real and the bank nearly had me arrested
Exactly love your comment. I’ve been scammed more than twice it is so painful. Over my laptop and phone calls from supposedly legitimate companies, but later I found out that they were not; but thank God I try my best to be careful
Ikr! But she's at an age where her vision may not be normal for seeing a phone screen clearly, without reading glasses, so it probably looked less weird to her.

You are not unlovable, Leah. You don't deserve the bad things that have happened to you. You need to recover your self-confidence and self- worth, before you start another relationship. You shouldn't rely on being in a romantic relationship with a man to make you feel worthwhile.
I feel the same but Leah if you do read this thread, compared to me atleast you have guts to go out and try, I’m 49 & I’ve been single since I was 25. I’m the coward not you, you’re beautiful and brave
You are not the sharpest knove in the drawer. Never give money to someone you don't know we. I am widowed 6 years and I would no way send a penny to anyone.
I mean if you that dumb, or you just simply make that bad of a descesion then you deserve what you get. How could she fall for this stereotypical situation where elders think they met some one online and just get scammed
I really like these style of videos where y’all interview the victim and show us the tricks (and how far they’ll go to make them convincing) that the scammers use, and how y’all and Catfish show how to counter them (via IP grabbers and reverse image searches). It’s unfortunate that Leah had to be caught up in this scam and I hope she is able to recover and find some that loves her and is real. Great Work as always!!! Trilogy and Catfish 1 - Scammers 0!!!
I am Nigerian and I lack words in expressing how disgusted and awful I feel watching this heartbreaking story💔 I mean, it is id!ots like this scammer that keep portraying hardworking Nigerians in bad light abroad. Always blaming the government for their laziness and get-rich-quick mentality. I hope he gets arrested and rots in jail. Nonsense!😡😡 I really feel sorry for Leah, and hope she heals from this🤗

They call their victims "babe" so they don't use the wrong name when they're scamming numerous people at once.
Why would they use a wrong name when the name is in front of them?
Because they got a huge list of names in front of them@@cherylween4973
Bingo.
Call them all babe. So they can't get caught.
@@cherylween4973You don’t realize that when they move you to apps like Google Chat, WhatsApp etc, they literally wake up in the morning and copy and paste the same exact “good morning babe” etc to hundreds of women .

My brother was scammed of everything he owned. Now he is homeless. Those scammers are monsters.
Leah seems like such a good person. I won't be surprised if REAL people watching this would like to get to know her and connect with her in a genuine way if they had a chance. There's someone out there for you, girl. I'm so sorry.

I felt that in my soul when she said why am I unlovable. That shattered something inside of me and I feel for her.
Na she dumb. She rather be loved my a scammed then not loved at all
No Leah, you aren't worthless and useless, you're a strong woman who lived and survived a lot. Yea it's though to see this and to see her going trough it. Thank you trilogy and social catfish for doing this for her.

Well done Vlad and team. Keep exposing them.

This channel is amazing. You guys are doing a great service for vulnerable Americans.
Not just us Americans for the world in general these filthy scammers are like a cancer
Not vulnerable. Stupid.
Helping others they are the best
I’m sure we have many Australians are done dirty too by these people but we are a small country and different law and maybe even scared people to have people like these do such a amazing job we just have fraud lines, report line, banks pay us back straightaway once they know that it’s a fraud then they chase it etc
Yeah cos Americans are soooo vulnerable😂
Dear Leah, thank you for having the courage to show us how to take our power back. You are amazing!
I see her as a Gem. She deserves so much better.
You are not a fool. Romance scams are based on psychological manipulation and anyone can get caught. You are an amazing, brave and wonderful woman. You are enough. You are lovable and deserve to be loved. Thank you for your courage in sharing this story. I’m sending you lots of love.
She does not feel like she is enough - that’s why this can happen to her and not to someone else. It’s sad, but true…
Educate. Educate. Educate. That's how we stop these life-scammers. Everyone needs to❤ 29:11 😅😂❤😮😅😊

My adult daughter has been caught in the same kind of scam. Posed as a recently deceased pop star. Has been threatening her. She suffered brain damage and is gullible for these predators. Sickens me to see people preyed on by criminals. Keep up the great job.
I can't believe these women actually fall for it
In my area there a woman also she got scammed . My mom also told her that he not real she got mad at my mom 😥 I told my mom to just leave her alone

Leah, you're not alone; I've been there too. It's not about intelligence, you were vulnerable and that's ok. You've done nothing wrong.
😢😢😢
Nothing wrong!?!? A dude you've never seen, sends a pic of a ring after 1 month of chatting, and this grown-ass woman decides she's engaged? How old is she, 14? How about getting her fat butt off that chair, throw the cigarrettes, quit the victimhood, get a job so you dont live of wellfare and then she won't have the time to be scammed by spending hours a day on the internet.
Stop making excuses because you did the same thing

Thank you for sharing this. I’ve been so critical and judgmental about especially women getting scammed. Well, I stand corrected. ❤❤❤
Thank you for helping so many people 💜 much love and respect to you.
And I'm 34
