      You cannot really compare.
      Pool is a much harder game because tiny mistake can loose you the match. In snooker there are less game in ones
      Snooker is more difficult potting. Because table size. But because of that there are much less shot deviations. Less combinations. Less bank-shots done etc. In snooker side spin is used less then in pool because potting is already hard.
      If sub top snooker players would be so much better then top pool players they would all switch to pool to earn their money instead of hardly make money because they cannot make the top 100 in snooker consistently.

      @@JohnJohnson-zq9rg You cannot be serious? Pool much harder than Snooker? As OP said, Ronnie could jump on a pool table with any player on earth and easily hold his own. The top pool players would not win a frame against him if he was actually trying. There is a reason for this. Yes, the pockets may be bigger, but so is the table. The shots can be much longer, making them more difficult. I could go on and on. Nothing against pool but snooker is much, much more difficult. Im also not sure what you mean about side not being put on shots; virtually every shot you see at pro level has back, top or side on it rarely are they hit full face. You are trying to control a white ball and move it around a larger space, of course spin is used? The point about earnings is also ridiculous, Ronnie O Sullivan has made over £30m playing snooker. Show me one pool player that has earnt that much from winning tournaments.

    • @eldritchsheep6801
      @eldritchsheep6801 3 года назад +22

      well 8 ball is a very simple game, since pro snooker player already have the very basic skills of hit ball in a hole it transfers perfectly over to 8 ball but because snooker is played over one, a much larger table, two, a completely different and almost complex set of rules, and three, different equipment, for snooker players it's like going down a level because everything is just smaller and simpler but for an 8 ball player it's like going up a level in complexity

Then the finale, a nice game of 9-ball where everything is set up for you. Snooker just has too many rules and nuances for someone to just come in and win. This is the dumbest game ever and O'Sullivan still couldn't take it. I guess he's too used to red ball, black ball, muscle memory to play anything else.

      Spoken like a true amateur .. snooker may have longer shots and longer positional play with safety but with Pool you can be out by 1 millimeter and lose the game. Its more about being gentle with you're positional play in Pool. most of the time in snooker it is simply red colour red and the gaps between the balls are usually larger which gives you the opertunity to play in an area. Pool you cannot really do that because the balls are close together.. Snooker fans are very very arrogant about discrediting Pool but you don't see the professional players saying this only amateur players. We had some snooker players who where county level come play me and my pal and we smashed them 8-2 and even after thar they had the arrogance to go on about how their sport is so much harder.. Traditional pool is an entirely different game than snooker, for the same reasons and problems people have that play on a regulation table and then play on a bar table. In snooker the table is bigger, the balls are smaller as well as the pockets and they aren't cut to benefit the shot. It's much more of a precision game. I play on a regulation table and consider myself average at best, yet get me on a vending machine table and I look like a 2 day old rookie. You put Strickland on a snooker table and Ronnie has his way with him like a cheap date. Just like Reyes always did!

    • @BiggyJimbo

      Correct. In comparison with pool, Snooker forces players to be more precise with their angles, their pace, and their cue control. These refined skills obviously directly translate to pool, but not necessarily vice versa. Technique-wise, you can get away with more at the pool table - it's more forgiving.

      Relatively speaking, the size of snooker balls compared to pro-tournament snooker pockets is about the same as the size of pool balls compared to pro-tournament pool pockets. So yes, while snooker pockets are smaller, so are the balls, making the "precision" inconsequential compared to pool if you're only considering clean pots. The reason snooker is difficult for pool players has more to do with a much bigger table and curved jaws. Conversely, the reason pool can be challenging for a lot of snooker players is the size/weight of pool balls and the thickness of pool shafts/tips can be a difficult adjustment due to significantly more throw and deflection. This is why even in this video, Ronnie was hitting high up the rail on some corner-pocket shots instead of going in clean like he would on a snooker table because the behavior of the balls simply isn't the same.

And so that’s the difference between Ronnie and earl. Ronnie looks at the people he plays against as normal people like he does himself, so earl thinks he’s one of the greatest players to play too so he will often think he may be playing against someone who is or can become greater.

  • @lemonite2-xh6wc
    @lemonite2-xh6wc 2 месяца назад

    Yes, snooker in general, is harder than pool but, as Ronnie O said himself,"pool has its challenges that dont exist in snooker." In watching pro snooker and pro pool most of my life I can say this is the case.
    Snooker is harder than pool 1. The table is bigger. 2. The pockets are smaller. 3. The pocket cut is rounded. 4. There's no big break to open the rack and scatter the balls, leaving plenty of open shots. 5. The nap of the cloth is slower than 860 Simonis. 6. The balls are smaller making for a smaller contact point. 7. The general rules, dimensions of Snooker leaves for little luck. In games like 9Ball, the game can be won easily and luckily with very little skill. Snooker, you really hafta earn it. To play Snooker fairly, a knowledgeable ref is required.
    Pool is harder than Snooker 1. In Snooker, because of the dimensions and conditions, you actually are not going for shots in Snooker that are routine in pool. A) Rail shots B) Bank shots C) Carom shots D) Kick shots E) Combination shots. 2. Cue ball in pool is bigger and heavier making it harder to control, especially draw. 3. Modern contemporary pool table pockets are shrinking while not shrinking the ball size. 4. Pool balls are bigger. Snooker balls being smaller and lighter have a wider range of pocket speed. 5. Position play. In games like 9 Ball, players often are forced to play the cue ball with lots a spin to a multitude of rails. In Snooker, these shots would be suicidal. That being said, pool generally requires a broader range of knowledge of table angles similar to 3 Cushion Billiards. 6. Safety play. No rule on driving an object ball to a cushion in Snooker. To get out of safety play in pool, a knowledge of kicking angles is a must. 7. Break shot. In games like 9 Ball, 8 Ball, 10Ball-a good break is required. This is where a good 9 Ball player will beat a Snooker player in pool games. 8. Clusters. Because the table is smaller and the balls are bigger in pool, the balls have less an area to go without bunching up.
