Although being a Springsteen fan from my teenager years on I went to my first live concert a few weeks ago in Düsseldorf, Germany. It was great. Especially this song I had totally forgotten and I couldn't get it out of my head after the gig. Thanks for your links! I remember listening to the tune several times in a row in my car on my cassette-player after the release of _Born in the USA_ . But 15 years later I loved even more the slow and melancholic version on the 5-album (3-CD) collection _Bruce Springsteen 1977-1987_ , very close to your first link.
And thirty more years later, I can say that though my face did grow old, it didn't grow sad and my heart burns brighter every day. Praise the Lord for this new birth that banned insecurity and despair from my life and changed everything... forever. Still love those old tunes anyway.

I still have to work on your tutorials for Queen's _I want to break free_ and _Radio Ga ga_ but _No surrender_ comes very close to the top of the list of songs to learn. I'd love a lesson of yours on _Reason to believe_ and/or _Racing in the streets_ (though the ending piano part is essential in the spirit of the song), as the chords seem easy to play but I don't like the way I sound on my own...
