Cold, alone in a void Blind but my eyes are open Nothing felt, nothing heard Rotting Decayed Broken Nausea Drown in waters filled with silence buy it if u like it
Fuck, this is the first time I've checked this band out. I've long been a fan of ambient black metal, but I've been out of the loop lately. This shit gets a big thumbs up from me.
First time i heard this song was on death.fm. I still remember it perfectly... First they played some fast napalm death then this slow deep DSBM Song came on, It gave me the greatest shivers on earth
Worldin Pains Oh boy... save your words. What a waste of time in such a comment of yours. I´m talking about the issue regarding the importance of diminishing the intervention of mastering\mixing features in the recording process, and the great oportunity "lo-fi" recording offers to appreciate such rawness... Therefore, the result of the stupid file compression actually means that 144 is the total destruction of such experience. Of course, you can listen 8-bit metal midi if you want; not my business at all... But was not my damn point.
Opinion is opinion. Agreed. Now, if you are not addressing the problematic I was talking about, that's not even an opinion about what matters TO the thread. That might be an opinion about flies, birds, my mom's butt, or another portion of the thread... but not about what I was talking; which leads me to think, regardless of opinion, shouldn't we get concern with the relevance of such opinion? I think we do. Again, you're talking about if some bands can live with or w/o mixing/mastering studio process. I was talking about digital quality and the impoverishment it poses on general qty. for any kind of recording (with a little example of how it won't even help to those "poorly" recorded ones.) . You see, you gotta read more man...
I was sent a copy of the album this is from to review almost 20 years ago. Every now and then this song pops in my head all these years later. Hauntingly beautiful.
from all doom and dsbm songs and bands i ever heard, i would say this one is in top 5 of heaviest, depressing and emotional song, that perfection between melancholic melody and painful vocals
@VoidBeyondTheRift Saw Gojira a couple years back when they played with Behemoth, great performance. Very fun show. Granted they were playing with Job for a Cowfag, but it was worth it.
@hollyfilth The best pure examples of Funeral Doom in my opinion are Skepticism,Esoteric, and Comatose Vigil. They all take a different approach to Funeral Doom but are all firmly within the genre.
One of the best Suicidal Black Metal bands iv come across..Wouldn't call it Funeral Doom but I can see were it some what sounds like it could be..Thy Light and Forgotten Tomb are also very good Suicidal Black Metal bands if anyone is interested
Yeah same with me I like almost every genre of metal out there and I really don't care what people say to me for what I like.. I like Dying fetus, job for a cowboy, suicide silence, necropahgist, avenged sevenfold, misery index, slipknot, disturbed, austere, at the gates, amon amarth, cryptopsy, decapitated, machine head, lamb of god, bullet for my valentine, slayer, and many many more bands :) Be yourself!! :)
Totally agree bro..the biggest distinguishing differance is the vocals SDBM has that cold grim sounding vocals as of Funeral Doom has the more deep downtempo death metal vocals.
@VoidBeyondTheRift Fair enough, if the chance arises and they are playing with a band that I would like to see, I'll keep that in mind. If Dying Fetus and Goatwhore played a show together. I would pay for that. That would be a Death Metal extravaganza. haha
@hatecorpse given there is a fine line between the two. There are bands that encompass both genres. Nortt is the best example I can think of. I would say this band probably blends the two.
@ferdin12 Dude, I know that. But, for better or worse, it's still here, and it's still metal, just like traditional doom, death metal, grindcore, deathcore, black metal, sludge, etc. You can't just ignore all of these subgenres that are awesome (well, maybe not deathcore).
yeah, your mentioning a interesting question: where does sdbm come from? i think the greater influence is burzurmish (excuse my bad english)atmospheric black metal. doom, and with that funeral doom is closer to death metal i think, you cant find desperate sceams, bm-typical doublebass nor the satanistic/paganist themes.
Wow I haven’t heard this song in years and it just randomly popped up on my feed again. What a classic
absolutely
Fuck, this is the first time I've checked this band out. I've long been a fan of ambient black metal, but I've been out of the loop lately. This shit gets a big thumbs up from me.

First time i heard this song was on death.fm. I still remember it perfectly... First they played some fast napalm death then this slow deep DSBM Song came on, It gave me the greatest shivers on earth
144p is the best way to listen to this dark gem. \m/
Not agreed... lo-fi is the best when listened in the best possible conditions. Why? Because lo fi often means organic quality,
Bastian Ullr choose what ever you like. If it is true metal, you will still hear it. Remember us tapetrading bastards!
Worldin Pains Oh boy... save your words. What a waste of time in such a comment of yours. So why waste it on me, opinion is opinion. Some sound great without the mastering/mixing, but some can´t do without. The way it is..
Opinion is opinion. Agreed. Now, if you are not addressing the problematic I was talking about, that's not even an opinion about what matters TO the thread. AYYYYE I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE!
Totally amazing and great band .Hail darkness & death
I think people are starting to come onto doom metal, as it is.
Im pretty sure this is dsbm
@@redchalice It has more elements of dark ambient/doom/atmospheric rather than DSBM, there are elements of that as well, though.
Blackened Ambiant Funeral Doom ?

Thy Light & Funeral Mourning Rules
The song of my funeral!!
I was a monster with anger, words, actions....but I loved her...there was no understanding.
slow and melancholic black metal highlight
cool.. So it's like the difference between death and black metal then. (screams vs growl)
Tnx tokkai for the clear and easy explanaiton
