    On the first sight, the price almost choked me. But from all I've seen about its capability... Yeah. Worth it. That thing's insane. Would've buy if I could.
    Just discovered your videos, by the way. Your channel is bloody impressive when you see the quality of your first video. That's a high level catch. Wow, lad. And you know what's cute with RUclips ? It's hitting everyone everywhere. Salutes from France !

      +Kiro Terashii thanks again for checking this all out Kirk. I really appreciate all the kind words. I am working a lot right now on keeping the quality very high on my videos. More are coming soon too.
      Thanks again.
      Salute!

    First off, awesome videos, especially for your first few! I had to do a double take when I saw you only had 3k subscribers.
    The charger however, is absolutely not worth it from my perspective, and I'll explain why.
    First you mention overcharge protection and temperature control, both features are extremely common in most batteries. All laptop batteries have both features built in. You can buy an overcharge and temperature control circuit board for under 5 dollars.
    The battery has a 20,400 mAh battery inside (we're supposed to assume 5 volts and later they claim 70 watt hours on their amazon page). For a package that small, a 60-70 watt hour battery seems very impressive... in fact it seems improbable.
    On that same amazon page they mention it can charge a macbook pro 13" up to 70%. I don't know which model they are referring to, but the current mac pro 13" has a 54.5 watt hour battery.
    70% of that is around 38 watt hours. But we should give some of it back, because this omni is using a built-in inverter for the outlet, and small inverters are rather inefficient at converting dc to ac, so we'll be generous and give back like 10-20%. That leaves us with a 45-ish watt hour battery that needs to fit in there. If we convert that back to mAh at 5V, it would be 9,000 mAh. To reach 45 watts, you'd need 4 lithium Ion 16850 batteries that are rated for 3000 mAh at 3.7v. I don't even think they make 18650's with that capacity yet. The highest (legitimate) capacity I've seen is 2500 mAh, and you can buy 4 for about 25 bucks, but we'll need 5 and hope that we can fit all of 'em in that box. (When googling to verify these claims, I want you to remember that mAh is a useless unit of measurement unless voltage is also specified.)
    Then I just found a 100w inverter (for a car) that comes with an outlet and 2 usb ports, for legit $9.99 on amazon. Add a 12V linear voltage regulator for $1.65 and that'll give you a 12v dc output (aka dc jack) as well.
    so far, that's 45 dollars in parts, but let's say $60 for anything extra that we want to add, like a small voltage and amp display. You could duct tape that together, add some wires and have a "functionally" similar product. Obviously you won't have that nice little display (which the only neat info on it is the wattage output), but you'll have over and under charge protection, it will charge just as fast as omni, and you will have spent only a 5th of the price of omni while buying parts at consumer rates while they have wholesale discounts.
    Maybe for someone with more money than time, this thing could certainly be worth it. But it is just so easy to make something functionally similar as part of a hobby project, that I can't help but wince at these products.

    Hope you grow fast! High quality video! Just if you make long talk with sunglasses if you can make the voice a little bit clear... im not english and don't understand all with that voice.

      Thanks for taking the time to watch the video Alessandro. I will be keeping that in mind for future videos. I will try to make the voice clearer and possibly add captioning as well so you can at least read some of the dialogue.
      Cheers!

    Does the lack of USB-C really matter with USB-A to USB-C cables being so common? I've got 4 USB-C/Thunderbolt3 devices (2 phones, a tablet and a laptop) and not one would benefit from C-C cables (requiring C on the brick). Maybe those A-C don't handle as much wattage as C-C? Not arguing, asking sincerely :)
    Liking the videos man. Your aren't in Phoenix metro area are you?

    • @Infosmercial
      @Infosmercial  7 лет назад +1

      +Michael Richardson yeah the USB-a spec can't supply the same level of power. I believe it's capped at 15w whereas USB-c is capped at 100w of power. What's great about it is that you can power your laptop or your phone or whatever from just one cable.
      The company Omnicharge actually just announced an indiegogo campaign for a USB C version of this charger.
      Btw, no I am in Las Vegas. I'm a close neighbor at least! 😆

    • @JuliusBurton
      @JuliusBurton 7 лет назад +3

      Michael Richardson also one of the big reasons for pushing USB-C is for everything to use USB-C. So in the future everything can work using just loads of USB-C to USB-C cables.
      No matter if you want to plug a hard drive in to a laptop or charge your drone using your phone.
      So the more USB-C the better in my opinion.

    • @Infosmercial
      @Infosmercial  7 лет назад +2

      +Julius Burton BOOM. You nailed it. If more devices support USB-c, more devices will support USB-c lol. Silly sounding, but true. Adoption just needs to pick up and reach critical mass.
      Lo and behold, the company omnicharge that made this battery pack is launching a USB-c version on august 1st through indiegogo.
      Looks like they listen to their consumers.....bravo.

    absolute nonsense break it open and divide the number of cell to the total cost and get the price pre cell. Then ask is it worth it when you can take the same money buy 200 cell and an energy meter and build you own energy storage device. Yet another garbage device designed to waste peoples time and money to distract from real product that would actually improve peoples lives for a reason price.
