Thank you so much for sharing your video. I lost one of my garage remote controller and got a new one an Amazon for only about $21. It wasn’t the original. By following your steps to program the 2 new remote controller worked right away. Your video teaching was a blessing in the sky. Keep up the good work and thank you RUclips for giving others the opportunity to share and others to follow. By the anyone out there, if you are replacing a remote controller don’t buy the original, too expensive. I got it on Amazon for only about $21 and worked… Thank You…
Thanks! I was getting ready to replace my 7 year old Liftmaster 8500 when I found your video. Turns out my 888LM was faulty so I replaced with the new 889LM… bingo. Thanks again.
The instructions are pretty clear and easy. I installed mine, but the red+yellow won't stop blinking, and it's also accompanied by a beeping noise. Could the backup battery be at fault?
Good Job!!! I've been trying to program a third controller and ended up "Un-programming" my other two... Don't ask how. But I had the instruction from the garage door operator. did it several times per the letter.... nothing! just watch yours and thought I would give it a try. when I first went to my wall mount controller the red light wouldn't even come on... I thought I may have something more then just programming issue..... so I cycled the door one time from the wall mount and tried the learn button again....this time it came on and stayed on... got my other controllers and had all three done in about one minute.... thanks!
the wall controller supplied with older 8500 op have 2 caps inside that were suppose to be over 100,000 cycle caps , but failed after just a few years ....that's why they honor the warranty and send a 889 lm as a replacement.....good company
nice video. I have the same issue with my smart panel. The light is flashing orange and it doesn't respond to any of the button i pressed whether its lock or learn. Does it need to be replaced?
Beautiful Mercedes…my wall control is flashing and not working, I can open and close the garage door with the remote n my car, I cut the power off and nothing…what do you recon?
If a red light above my learn button is blinking red intermittently on my wall mounted door control and making some intermittent buzz noises, what does that mean? I can detach the door control from the wall and disconnect the wires. I can touch and hold the wires together and the door operates. So despite the obvious solution of replacing my door control, is it possible to rule out if the wires were just not wrapped around the screws well or sufficiently? I'm trying to rule out correcting the problem within the door control before just buying a new one for $45.00. Is there a button to hold to clear out memory or commands given?
Yes i changed both capacitors and its working. I see as soon as i open it that one capacitor is bulging. So i order amazon 5pc with 15 $ which is. A rip off and i change them both
... holding the learn button for 10 seconds resets the wall controller. You need to push the learn button twice to get to the learn mode. ( no need to hold for 3 seconds)
@@LabelSeven I just wanted to put it up there for others to see. I was trying to program my GFs Genie remote to learn my Liftmaster, but it wouldn't take (or vice versa either). I ended up resetting mine, cause I didn't look at my instructions. Typical guy move !
When you hold the "learn" button for a few seconds you actually just erased all old remotes. This is good if you lost a remote or acquired a new property with an 8500. To program remote only just press the learn do not hold it down unless you want to re program all remotes!
Question: if someone were to break into your vehicles, could they just press those buttons and gain access into your garage? And how many ppl actually keep the interior door which leads from their garage into their home, Locked? Now the Bad Guys have entered your house.🤷🏻♂️😳
My garage isn’t connect - but we have key pads regardless. Yes though if they got into your car they could do that. Adopt a German shepherd, I have a video for that too -you’ll sleep better at night 😆. If you don’t want to do any of that and you’re scared of your shadow - take the extra 4 seconds to lock the interior door
I know this video is a couple years old, but I thought I’d add this in case someone else had this question. I have the same Liftmaster wall switch, and one of the buttons on the switch is LOCK. If you push this button, all remotes are locked out until the LOCK button is pushed again and the LOCK light goes out. I hope this helps.
my wall mount panel isn't working but everything else is still working. my app says to call a garage door opener company over 30 minutes away. looks like I'll be reaching out to the manufacturer.

Don’t forget to call manufacturer too- they’ve been pretty good about it- even years in!

Very helpful and clear video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Nice info .. what a PITA especially if the openers are built into your cars. Never mind the deleting and redoing your apps.

EXACT SAME ISSUE HAVE YOU FIXED THE ISSUE AND IF SO HOW

Maybe bad control? Did you give it enough time to reset ? It should program and stop blinking!
@@LabelSeven Both of my car controllers continued working, I replaced the wall switch and now everything works. Bad wall switch.

Yes I would get a new control. By connecting wires your overriding button, telling me that’s your issue.
My issue is that my wall pad started blinking both lights and beeping. remotes don't work, keypad doesn't work. Do I need to replace my wall pad?

Thank you! It was doing both when I tried ( as you can see in video) I saw both sets of instructions on that when doing my research

I have the exact same problem with the exact same unit I purchased in 2015. Can you tell me who you contacted to get a replacement part
I honestly just called the 1800 # for them…. With enough research you’ll get your answer!
12:06 Nov 7, 2024. Ours is beeping. Can’t find info in that. It’s electric
Thank You sharing your knowledge I needed it.
My garage door goes down as programmed, but the second it makes contact with the ground it goes back up. How do I correct this problem?
I have the same issue. Any fixes??
Is anything on the ground? Even a wire could throw it off. Piece of mulch? Anything? If not let me know and I’ll dig into it because I’m curious!
You need to reset your travel limit manually so it knows when it is closed fully and open to the right height.
My liftmaster wall pad keeps beeping nonstop. How did you contact them? Hoping mine is still under warranty
So you had a bad wall mount controller? Did they send it at no charge?
Yes they did. Sent me 2 actually!
@@LabelSeven my 8500 just stopped working. I have the 888 from 3/15 did you just email liftmaster?

Liftmaster has a recall on the older units, just called them after my device failed and they will be sending me a new on for free!
They’re pretty good about warrantying the pieces- probably because they’re all junk now!
My wall unit control still flashing and do not respond, what can cause this?
Try disconnecting power, if it doesn’t work then replace it
Great video but what if the control panel lights continue to blink???
You have a programming issue. Keep trying, adjust hold down times and go from there. If that doesn’t work make sure you bought compatible parts?
