@@DeuceandMo they're dooming Huerter to fail. Guy had a down year, an injury, and his confidence has been shook since the 3pt contest/playoffs. Needs to build himself backup, but throwing him to the wolves(metaphorically & literally) is going to hurt him if he doesn't produce. Keon should be the starting 2 and Huerter should come in for Derozan but they can't even do that now 🤔 they're in a tough spot as far as that 2 spot goes and Fox & Derozan need to play off eachother more in the 4th.
y'all are not cringe at all. I'm a warriors fan and I love you guys, we have nothing this good. You have a great energy and good takes and should be really proud of this show.
As a Wolves fan, I've become a Kings fan from your playoff coverage last season. Kings looked good through most of the game, except down the stretch they seemed to have trouble finding reliable things to go to down the stretch. Kings look like what the Wolves are trying to do at the same time, still figuring out the pecking order late in games. How to acclimate to the play of a new stud on the team.
One of the vets needs to get in Keon's ear and tell him to stop being so passive on offense. Yes, he is probably the 4th or 5th option most times when he is on the floor, but he can't take one shot and be ignored by the opposing team's defense. Also I agree that there was way too much iso ball in the 4th quarter. The iso play should come from movement and forcing switches to get the 1 on 1 matchups where Demar and Fox have the advantage. It should not be the way we initiate the offense.
My big concern is , the Thunder look so good. Our title window will never open with OKC running the West for half a decade. Once we get that long power forward, and move DRoz to the 2, and Keegan to the 3 (in the off-season or deadline), we are going to need a 2nd thing, an OKC injury in 25-26/26-27. *Unless Devin is him.. but wil still need a long 4
I feel confident in this team especially after practice yesterday Malik was saying we will be alright. I remember the playoff birth season he was telling us we are right there when we struggled a little bit and everything ended up being ok
NBA season is back! D&M postgame livestreams are back! But damn! I was really hopeful for a Kings win to start off the 24-25 season. I'll try not to jump to conclusions based on one game (though i can see the proverbial ledge in the distance ;)), but some things that stand out just from tonite - Minutes allocation crazy (yes, Brown postgame acknowledged, makes sense that some experimentation is going to be required) - Reasonable to think both Huerter and Lyles will need some time to get fully engaged and comfortable - Demar's game is what it is, he's a smart player, I hesitate to say it but I will anyway, its sort of ISO oriented and seems at times to interrupt pace and flow - Collectively, the offense and defense looked disjointed at times - 3 players with 20+ pts, 21 total assists, 9 TO's and we still lose the game. On to game 2, Beat LA!
Felt good to be back!! Also, assist numbers a little lower because of the free throw attempts. Gotta remember that! Going to be interesting to see how it comes together
I saw some things tonight that we have all seen before, there was a sequence in the 4th where Darozan took the ball in solo 4 times in a row and came away empty, while the rest of the Kings stood around watching, hoping this "star watching" changes with time, Fox appeared to be favoring his right hand again, rubbing it more then once like it bothered him, also Fox appeared to disappear late game, cant help but wonder if he wasnt 100%, we have seen this before,, Sabonis again was a different player second half then he was first half, there were other things but these few have been past issues as well. Not for nothing, but Sabonis and Monk missing those two FT's in the end kinda stung when you see the final score difference by 2 points...(yeah it aint that simple, but still hurts) There were things to like as well, but I will save those for when we win! Good to see you Deuce and Mo , back in the saddle again! Light the Beam! (Eventually) "Let's Frigging go!" (But I didnt say Frigging)....
People might be wondering why shots were falling short in the 4th, well I'll say what no one wants to say, 43+ mins for DeRozan ( older player) is the cause of this and i realize people think we got pieces back so bench is ok ? No our bench is thin in terms of talent hence the kings looking like if Thibbs is coaching us. Kings have an identity crisis and have to find and stick with it, yes getting to the line a ton of times is great but it also slows down the game the moment and teams can capitalize on each free throw break.
Totally agree about the minutes, but its not a personnel problem. Keon is first team all defense caliber while shooting 40% from 3. Malik deserved 6th man of the year last year. Len is solid. Lyles is solid. Maclaughlin is solid. I. Jones and Crawford are young but have the length and athleticism the Kings really needed yesterday. This is the makings of a good bench in 2024, especially when you have 4 dynamic players you can stagger throughout the game. Mike Brown admitted it. He has to be better with his rotations.
@@DeuceandMo anytime! As a wolves fan I look forward to playing y’all again and stopping by (not that I won’t poke my head in in between). If you’re looking for a fellow RUclipsr to collab with when the kings play the wolves Dane Moore is top tier. A bit dryer than y’all but he knows his stuff and itd make my day lol
Yeah, there are certainly things to fix, but they are things that are just going to take time to develop. For this particular game, Kings management overthought themselves out of an opening night win not sticking with the preseason lineup and allowing Heurter to grow back into the rotation at his own pace. Predictably, Kevin not sharp after being off so long. Keon’s D could have been more valuable for this one. Just one or two defensive plays could have done it.
Sacramento Kings “Numbers Don’t Lie!” T-Wolves took 50 three pointers! King took 29 three pointer! In the todays NBA, you have to take 3s! SMH the Kings biggest weapon is the 3 ball!!! Demar & Keegan played 43 minutes? Malik played 26 minutes! Malik has to play over 30 minutes a game. Malik should be starting!!! But, if he doesn’t start he has to play over 30 minutes. The Kings owner should make this point clear to Monte and Mike!!! Malik is still the most important player on this team. “Last night in the 4th quarter the ball should have been in Fox and Malik hands on every position!!!” Demar took 18 shots! Not good! The guy shooting 2s does not need to lead team in shot taken. SMH! Teams will let Demar shoot away! Boston took 61 three pointers vs the Knicks!!! Yes the Celtics are the Champs. To win in this NBA u have to take 3s! Observation, the 2nd unit should be Fox, Malik, Keegan, Trey, and Alex!!! Let this squad play some minutes together MIKE! This allows Keegan to play the 3 spot, and Alex gives the team RIM PROTECTION!!! “The owner of the Kings need to take Monte and Mike to get Eye Exams! The NBA is about big TEAMS!! Last night, when the T Wolves went Big, they dominated the KINGS! Yes! the T-Wolves played both of their Centers together! T Wolves especially Ant knew, with Sabonis playing center, he could attack the Rim any time he wanted to. Sabonis is not a RIM PROTECTOR! This is not news, everyone in the NBA knows this! End of Game Execution! Lets put the Ball in Fox and Malik hands!!! Demar forcing up shots is not going to work, and plus he is taking tough 2s! Not smart. Fox and Malik are the best closer on the Kings, because they can pass and shoot the 3 ball. Closing time last night was a train wreck, the Kings don’t need to watch Demar take tough 2 pointers. I repeat the Celtics took 61 three pointers!!! If game 2 features Demar leading the team in shots and Malik playing less than 30 minutes the Kings will probably lose again!!! SMH
Why do I picture you aggressively typing this on a keyboard? Like super loud. Yeah, we definitely hit on this during the pod. Lets see how they look in LA
Fox should have taken the 165 million. He is good but not 30ppg guy. Thats what they need and the one year he did that, they made the playoffs. Huerter has taken over HB’s role as cardio role model.
I just think obviously you knew the wolves were going to bounce back after they lost in the second half overall as a whole especially on defense it was one game not going to panic to much in the game but they have to excute down the stretch in the second half especially on defense for them to win games and the attention of detail for 48 minutes but they definitely will learn from.🏀💯
I think it’s a good thing if Sabonis is gonna have less assists than usual. A lot of the time our momentum gets killed when he tries make difficult passes. I think we were in this game because he didn’t try and do to much
I'm not mad at all with keegs shooting the last shot. If he read the double right away quick pass to Sabonis! He was butt naked in the paint. Literally Sabonis had the whole paint to himself. Easy layup if you freeze it at 2.3 seconds enough time. Again not mad it's a quick bang bang play. Looking at the schedule next 5 games very capable going 5n0 being objective I can see 4n1. So 5n1 or 4n2 should be our record.
Ehh i dont know how easy that would've been. There was like 1.5 when Ant came flying to him. I dont want him passing up looks. Anyway, lets bounce back
@@DeuceandMo Freeze it at 2.3 sabonis wide open at the basket. Ant fully committed. Keegan had to pump fake Reid then double clutch for Ant. Was a very difficult shot.
