Although Louisiana is prone to flooding from weather, "never been flooded" might refer to the engine flooding with fuel. It's a common rotary problem which makes them hard/impossible to hot restart. Usually happens when you shut them down before fully warming up.... It's often a sign of a tired engine, injectors or seals.
I remember back when I was looking into first cars, I wanted a cool tuner, but my mom shot down all the cars I wanted to buy. Finally, I showed her an RX-8 and she loved it, but it was the only car my car enthusiast dad forbade me from driving. In retrospect, i thank him for not letting me get a rotary. He lived next to a rotary mechanic in the 80s, and the memories still haunt him to this day.
You guys need to start a hall of shame for listings and have that RX7 as the First and WORST one and see if you can find a another one even worse then that one.😂 it literally was the worst listing I’ve ever had the displeasure of seeing in my life good god!
I once saw a Greek add for a E46 that claimed it was an M3, guy was asking something in the ~30 Grand EUR range for it. Very adamant that all the modifications he put into it were worth it, lots of "track use"(in quotations per the ad), pictures of the engine....the 4 cylinder engine...probably diesel too.
I think this one would actually be a good car for a restoration project or a base build for someone who knows Rx-7s because it is mostly intact and not hacked up. Not for 10k though. I cringe because I remember when you could buy running cars for 3k, but 2500 to 3k is a more realistic price.

I bought an N/A convertible S5. From what I see everyone hates them, but I have a vision. Plus, I got it for a steal. Specially now in 2024, I only paid 3k for mine running and everything. I’m doing a full restoration, big turbo, body kit (slim body), and getting a nice roll cage done so that it can look neat when I drop the top.
If they gave a shit about that Turbo 2 they would have taken care of it. The appeal of an old one owner car is that the original owner cared for it. No one cares how many names are on the title if its still a shitbox.

I had an 89, it was fun until it reached 120k miles and the apex seals gave out. If the car set for longer than day or so, I'd have to prime the engine with a small amount of oil(remove upper spark plugs and add there). It would be 100% fine as long as I started it once a day. Really loved that car. I made a lot of friends because of it. Wish I still had it.

Only one completely unfucked with for learning purposes to rebuild would still cost you $5,000 at minimum by the time you got it running. Don't people realize you don't recuperate your investment on aftermarket parts even if you are selling a running finished product. Only buy a project car if you understand you can never sell it for anything close to what you have in it.
