I can’t agree more! I excel at being mediocre at best hahaha and I am very aware of my weaknesses. Whenever i release something i doubt myself a lot if it is even good enough to share it with people. But i am trying to learn with every project and push myself a little bit more every time. At least that way i force myself to try to do better. This selfdoubt has stopped me from releasing my stuff for over 30 years of playing... just too emberassed to have people hear my stuff. And i never really progressed either because of that i think. During the lockdown and when discovering the cool online music community, i just decided to care a little bit less and just share it for the fun of it. It is a balancing act at being super self crititical and hating my own stuff, and just saying ‘it is what it is’ and enjoy the fun of sharing with people and learn from each other. This way i think i have advanced more in about almost 2 years than the previous 30 years of hiding under a rock.
Btw, made it to the end, and it is not rambling. I actually really appreciate every word you said and it is very inspiring and motivating to hear you talk about this stuff. New subscriber thanks to Jade Star me tio ing your channel. Glad i checked it out my friend! 👍👍👍
