I really appreciate your teaching skills and your attitude. You don't intimidate or discourage hints and tips from your followers. You make us feel like friends.
You are great at explaining every step. A beginner could easily start quilting by following your precise tutorials. As an advanced quilter, I have even learned some helpful tips from you. So, thank you.
No problem. Since this quilt along is for beginners I am taking it one step at a time. Next time we'll be planning, measuring, calculating, cutting and sewing on the sashing strips. Thanks for following along.
Just a suggestion....next time starch your blocks really well before you do any trimming. This is a tip I learned from a June Tailor video and it makes trimming them SO much easier and much more accurate.
The video is fantastic, with no problems with streaming of video. I love your selection of fabrics, making for really gorgeous blocks. Thank you for your efforts! May you be blessed with peace, happiness, prosperity, good health, and wonderful quilts.
I never cease to be amazed at your skills and talents. I liked this video because I wasn't sure how to square my quilt, thank you again for this video. I wish you lived closer to Wisconsin:-)
Thank you so much for your videos on quilting...I am a beginning quilter and was ready to just give up until I saw this video on how to square up blocks..halfway thru my queen size quilt top I realized it was not square no matter how I tried to correct it..I now know how thanks to your video..also gonna get the rotating block ruler!
I had a block that I took the whole thing apart, squared up the squares/hst, then resewed it, and it worked! When I'd looked at it, I was ashamed at how crappy it looked and knew I could do much better! Looked great when I finally got done with it.
I was hoping you were going to add the stips in between the blocks. I have started another qult using some of your blocks and some I made up. THanks Vanessa.
Te agradezco mucho por mostrar estos videos que hacen ver mas fácil este tipo de labor. Si te es posible quisiera alguna descripción en español pues parecen muy importantes este paso y los siguientes ya que con las imágenes no logro comprender, gracias.
I have a question, I am making a quilt, and some of my blocks I have embroidered on, and a couple of the embroidered blocks, are smaller than the others. How can I make each block the same size? perhaps adding some of the fabric to the embroidered blocks, do you have a video on that?
Hi there...thank you for this very helpful tutorial. At about the 7:13 mark there is a striped pink/yellow block with a square block insert. Can you tell me how to make this block?
I could... but that is too much work for me. I rather re-do it and make sure it comes out perfectly and just use that one in another project-- like a pillow cover or something. That's just me. But there are a few things you could do to save it, say, you were using a specific fabric collection and didn't have any more, etc.
How does one square up a quilt block in which cutting edges to square it would cut away important parts of the block. I'm making Granny squares and they are not consistent sizes. But if I cut them to all be the same it will cut parts of the squares within the blocks. Is it more important to keep the design intact or to have them be consistent in size when joined into rows?
Hi I do not live in the USA and we do not have rotary mats and cutters available here. Can you suggest a good long lasting brand (size 24 x 36) so that I can order for shipping. I was looking at Fiskars brand.
I found this to be confusing to follow mainly because it did not have actual instructions to make sure I was centering the block so I would be cutting each side correctly.
Frustrated with this. Every 3 to 7 seconds it kept cutting out on me. Has anyone else had this problem or is it my computer. Will try again another time to watch this video

Thank you, young lady for your video. This helps me in quilting.
Still one of the best videos ever on squaring blocks. I watched it years ago. Rediscovered! This time I subscribed ;) Thank you!

Loved the black , white and red quilt you held up while explaining sashing. Beautiful colors

I am from Trinidad and Tobago and I am currently working on my final year design project. I will be doing a large quilt size 7ft x 8ft
I was hoping you were going to add the stips in between the blocks. I have started another qult using some of your blocks and some I made up. THanks Vanessa.
I love your stuff! Thanks you!

Thanks for the video. It is very helpful. Can't wait to hear about sashing.
youre an awesome teacher thanks for sharing your knowledge
according to sharon schamber network you can use starch for resizing larging and make it smaller!!! i tried it and it works!!
I really enjoyed this video. Looking forward to the next one.
The black/white/red quilt you showed at the end is GORGEOUS. I love your designs. Do you have patterns available?
I don't care much about quilting but I watched this anyway because I like listening to your voice. (I mean this is a non-creepy way.)
Very useful - thank you!
great tip! Thanks!
That was wonderful! Thank you for the tutorial!
Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :o)
I also enjoyed your video. Thank you

Great instruction!
Your blocks are very interesting and eye catching. Will be watching for more of your video’s.

Thanks much! U r the BEST!
Thanks!
No problem! Glad to hear it! :o)
Any tutes on tied quilts?
What if your quilt blocks are bigger than 12 inch but all same size…. Will the blocks look right if they are bigger
Thanks so much! Glad to hear it. :o)
Thanks! :o)
How did you end up doing the blocks you redid differently?
I could... but that is too much work for me. I rather re-do it and make sure it comes out perfectly and just use that one in another project-- like a pillow cover or something. That's just me. But there are a few things you could do to save it, say, you were using a specific fabric collection and didn't have any more, etc.
great job

What happens if the block is too small or the blocks are different sizes on the top and the bottom
Couldn't you take apart your pinwheel block and trim the interior seams to make it smaller?

hello I'm making a quilt , that is all 9" what ruler should I use to square up .
Not sure if anyone answered you, but you can use a square that his larger and put glo tape at 9" or purchase a 9" square ruler.
I found it in your other video, half square triangle.
I found this to be confusing to follow mainly because it did not have actual instructions to make sure I was centering the block so I would be cutting each side correctly.

You are a very beautiful lady. Very pleasant to watch your videos.
Se puede traducir al español ?
You look so cute
It's the pink and white block that shows at the 1:25 minute mark.
por favor en español que tu lo hablas perfectamente
Thanks... O Te ves am
Thanks.... Te ves delgada!!!! ;-)
Please get a new sharper rotary blade. Watching you cut with that rotary cutter is making me cringe.
I have never seen anyone "saw" their cuts like that, very bad habit! There are much better videos on RUclips for squaring up blocks.
Charlotte I think her blade needed changing.
