If you ask why the jury gave them 2nd place, it is because technically the other group performed relatively better. Well, that's how they explained it. But I can confidently say that one of the three jury members gave them first place, since the jury said that they could not determine the order of the top three. In any case, more than half of the audience gave alyona alyona & Jerry Heil 1st place. All other participants were voted for by those who remained.
Our jury was reculant to praise this song as it has a religious vibe and lines. According to them, it can lead to false belief that Ukrainians are only Christians. We have many religions to choose from. Usually, we do it freely, and it is also ok to follow none of them. I voted for this song cos Alyona's lyrics were about women's struggles and strengths, and honestly, it is the best part of the performance. The rest is nice, but it is for hype only.
I have a feeling they voted for act with least traditional elements and that is not what Eurovision is about, diversity, uniqeness etc. I am just saying they missed the point or just wanted for show to be more exciting.

As a Ukrainian, I’m not quite happy with the choice, but not much we can do now, as the majority voted for them. The song isn’t bad, but I don’t think it’s a winner material. Honestly, I don’t believe that a lot of Ukrainians want them to win either, especially after the backlash from 2022, so any outcome would be fine really 😁 My personal favourites were Yagody, Nahaba and Nazva (but again, they weren’t well received by the general public or jury, so just sharing my opinion)

This wasn't a great performance, decent but not great. It did the job, though, and they've got a few months to sort it. It wasn't my favourite in the selection, it didn't move me at all in the way it has to others. I also didn't like the imagery there - keeping away from religious imagery is probably a better idea. But they're gonna do well. I don't feel like it's a winner worthy song in it's current form, but I also wouldn't be surprised if it did.
