- Thank you so much for joining me for another day in my classroom! Setup is almost complete, just in time for our teacher workdays to begin.
I didn't address it in the video, but the breaking glass was a graduated cylinder. Luckily, I got it cleaned up!

Been enjoying your videos. 😊 Just sharing a word of caution about the cell phone hanger...a couple of teachers at my school had theirs fall with phones in them, even with similar command strips. 😳 and parents weren’t happy about it. ☹️ Honestly, cell phone addiction w high schoolers is sooo frustrating!!!
Thank you for your cautionary advice. I have had the calculators in there for over a week so I'm hoping they will hold. I don't expect it to be full as it's optional, but perhaps I'll store my floor pillows under it. :P
Los Angeles USD is that strict too. No fridge or microwave in rooms. Only exception is for science chemicals. However we have "Breakfast in the Classroom" which brings pests to the room. Electricity loads are the issue with appliances. I wish we were not allowed to eat in the rooms.
My school doesn’t let us have microwaves or mini-fridges either. ☹️
It's such a bummer!
Where did you get the women in stem posters? So amazing!

I just found your channel! Love this. 💕I'm a high school teacher in the UK and I just uploaded my CLASSROOM SETUP vlog. Let me know what you think, I'd really appreciate it! ☺️ X
Why put no charge on the outlets?
TheMeghan99 students are not permitted to charge their phones around the room because they’re not allowed to have their phones out.
At least you still have access to the mini fridge. That is really frustrating. I haven’t heard of a district being that strict.
The Hall Pass you are absolutely right! The reason I brought the fridge in the first place is because I’m not close to the workroom that has a fridge at this school. It has definitely been frustrating, though.
Wait is it normal for teachers to eat in their classrooms there?? I'm a secondary teacher in Ireland and there is no eating in the classrooms allowed. If you have work to do over lunch you eat first and go back to the room after.
maddowney yes, it is common. Sometimes we will eat in one of our rooms with our colleagues. Other times, which is why I do, I have students eat in my room during lunch with me. My door is always open to anyone who needs a safe space. Unfortunately, we are not being allowed to have them in our rooms because we are in a swing space at a brand new school that is ultimately not ours. It’s frustrated only because we were never told about these restrictions until we got in there and had already been working.
Wall to Wall two years ago, we were told to remove electric appliances. Told it was a fire code issue, though our principal complained all the previous year about personal fridges costing the school money.
