It’s funny how American Psycho is supposed to be a parody of the people who act like Patrick Bateman. And yet teenage boys genuinely believe it’s agreeing with their viewpoints 💀
I have friends in Palestine. Every time we text I wonder if I'll ever be able to talk to them again because the situation there is so unstable. It's a pain that I'm sure multiplies by 100x when families are separated and parents live to see their children's deaths before their eyes. Thank you so much for talking about this, restored my faith in humanity, Cooper:) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE EDUCATE YOURSELF ABOUT EVERYTHING BEFORE PICKING A SIDEE Free Palestine
Exactly, this isn't about whose land it is anyway even tho it's the Palestinian's, just look at how 90% of isrealis are Europeans, they think Palestinians came out of thin air or something, they were always there just took different names and some of them ( the jews) left, wondered the world and then "came back "
I really do wish he'd educate himself to be more confident and speak about it more often. I know it's a big "debate" out there and you'd be scared of "backlash" or whatever, but I literally just watched Dr. Ahmed Yousaf's testimony and I can't imagine having a platform and not screaming at the top of your lungs every single god given day for the liberation of these people
I used to follow this guy on Instagram before the whole controversy happened. I always thought he was kind of aggressive but I didn't really pay too much attention to his behavior because he was educational most of the time. When I heard about his views on free Palestine and Israel I was really upset. I am Egyptian (Israel has tried taking Sinai from us multiple times and my family member have fought wars against them) and I have many close family friends who are from Palestine and though I have always understood why Jewish people would want to have their own land I always thought the Israeli government was horrible and cruel. When I learned about the ethnic cleansing my view of the Israeli government only got worse. To see a random guy on the internet who is unaffected by the whole situation act like he is so knowledgeable and so correct is infuriating. The Israeli government will not hesitate in killing children and putting illegal restrictions (according to the UN the Gaza Strip is NOT under the jurisdiction of Israel and genocide is pretty bad generally) on Palestinians all in the name of "restoring their stolen land" They've gotten they're land, why are they still doing this to Palestinians? they are just being cruel. This area is both indigenous to Israelis and Palestinians so why can't people just live together? it's not that easy of course but honestly, it's ridiculous how we're fighting like this. Clearly, this chronically online dude doesn't understand the complexity of this situation. also, You'd have to be really stupid to say free Palestine is an anti-Semitic dog whistle. of course, it could be used like that by people who just hate Jews but that is the same for every mantra so he is just being ridiculous. You can't just call everything a dog whistle. he should educate himself before speaking on such serious issues.
He IS educated, he has a MA on holocaust and genocide studies. He knows of this stuff and comments on them regularly, he is against the idea of disbanding Israel completely, but not to the idea that Israel shouldn't be an imperialist hellhole. But free Palestine can be an antisemitic dog whistle, but he doesn't advocate for hating everyone that uses that phrase, of course, he even supports it, he just call to attention that sometimes, it is used on videos by innocuous jewish creators that haven't even commented on the situation, and when it is used that way, it is a common antisemitic dog whistle, and he explains this in the part that Cooper cut out, I don't know why he did it but that's very fucking suspicous of him.
@@YolkieYolk Anti-Semitism truly permeates everywhere, I really wish people were more aware of that. I also really hope Cooper isn't an anti-Semite as cutting the man off like that was highly suspect at best. Jewish people and Israeli people should be allowed to talk about their culture or experiences in a country when they haven't taken any hard stance (which btw is very hard to do) without being bombarded with "Free Palestine" like the current situation is somehow their fault. It's fucking rancid.
@@YolkieYolk that part was not cut off, as Coop mentioned he (history wizard) has privated his accounts so all the videos he uses here are stitches, including that one
@@irtimiz then maybe he shouldn't use a video that he didn't even see. That's like seeing the first minute of this video and making a video about how Cooper hates leftists and is pro genocide. That is so stupid
10:00 as an Israeli living in Israel who takes a neutral political stand, everyone suffers and everyone is wrong, people are bad, violence is not the answer. And as for today's news of September 3rd 2023, 3 terror orgnizations are threatning to start an inhuman war with the country. We all suffer for no good reason. And whoever doesn't live here should stay out of the conversation. Thanks Film Cooper for not dwelling on the subject!!
People don't care about land back for native Americans because 1500 years ago a completely separate empire forced the great great great great great great great great great great great great grandparents of the people now living in another nation from their land my dude. The native people are STILL alive, their same tribes in many cases are STILL around, and they are STILL being screwed by the government. Thats why people talk about land back, not because literal THOUSANDS of years ago a different group of people owned the land. It doesn't matter which group had first dibs on a patch of dirt. It matters who, in LIVING MEMORY was screwed out of it for colonial reasons. Also, "It doesn't matter that Israel is commiting genocide, their indigenous to that land" is LITERALLY an argument nazis would use for germany.
He looks like those people that see ONE feminist documentary and they think they're the biggest feminist in the world, and know everything about it, while still being completely blind to their contribution to the problem.
pls lord i am begging for a chad chad and film cooper collabration where they just watch the button together and praise or insult people with the amount of amazing humour sense they have plEASE
OMG I had an interaction with this man!! It was a couple years ago and he was talking about Maori and Pacifica Poi dancing and how it was a cultural practice and all this stuff, which is awesome cause I loved seeing the representation of my culture (I am of Maori descent and have grown up with the Maori culture) and it's history, so I figured I would add a bit of information that he'd missed out, the fact that the poi were sometimes used in war time by filling them with rocks and bashing the heads of others in and he just said "Nope you're wrong, that isn't what happened" which led to an argument and him saying "Well we were taught christopher columbus discovered america which was wrong, so just cause you're taught it doesn't mean it's true ya idiot" and then he blocked me
very ironic of him to say that sometimes people get taught the wrong thing, while being taught the wrong thing & not listening when you tried to respectfully add on to what he said
He definitely just seems like someone who's really just ... Extremely online, on twitter and tiktok too much, that kinda stuff. Friendly reminder to make sure your going outside and socializing with people irl too though since that's a difficult trap to get stuck into and it's really sad to see people become so unkind because of social media. Life gets better when you leave the house.
honestly the part that drives me up a wall is that on a level he can still be correct in terms of the dog whistles but he loses it when he says "everyone who does this is a n-a-z-i" because as he has mentioned yes the whole point of a dog whistle is to add a layer of plausible deniablity, but it also ignores that those "whistles" started somewhere that wasnt from a point of malicious intent, and most people who arent constantly online would probably miss the memo that 4chan coopted pepe the frog and that pepe has still be used by people who arent bigots since then anyway its like saying if u make a shitpost about the old mcdonald's moon mascot ur a bigot cause 4chan coopted him for racist stuff for a stint before getting bored, or the circle game getting coopted but not shitty people still playing it yes the point of the dog-whistle is for plausible deniability, but its more helpful to say "unless the person has a history of being a bigot, if they post a pepe its safe to say theyre probably not a bigot because they posted the funny frog" instead of "everyone who uses the wojack memes are ALL FASCISTS"
not to mention the guy saying everyone who says free palistine is antisemetic like dude u can say that jewish people deserve to live while also saying the israeli goverment shouldnt be killing their neighbors thats like saying someone hates all chinese people cause theyre critical of the CCP
@@Pandatege That's the thing, your opinions lie with the guy on the video, the History Wizard. He does mention the part that saying Free Palestine is ok, and that it is born from legitimate good, but be aware that some people use it to be antisemitic. He has never said that everyone who does this kind of thins is a nazi, that's an awful exaggeration Cooper is making. He also cut the part where the guy explains his take on the Free Palestine video. The History wizard has nearly literally said "unless the person has a history of being a bigot, if they post a pepe its safe to say theyre probably not a bigot because they posted the funny frog", he is just not content with people saying that it is not a dog whistle because a lot of people don't use it as such, when that's the point. Here, the fault is not from the History Wizard, but from Cooper who is pretty much taking out of context everything he has said, why do you think he didn't play any video of him whole, even when they are not longer than 3 minutes?
@@YolkieYolk I mean he literally stated the reason he didn’t play whole videos was because his TikTok got privated so he didn’t HAVE full videos. Only stitches so only had partial clips.
exactly, if everyone who used a dogwhistle was a fascist or notsee, it wouldn't be effective as a dog whistle. there HAS to be people who aren't in on the whistle for it to work properly. it's understandable to be skeptical about someone with a bateman pfp (i am myself, personally) but to just paint everyone that uses it as a misogynist is not only misunderstanding how dog whistles work, but is intentionally seeing the world in such an antagonistic way that they will always find something to dislike about that person. After seeing the bateman pfp, they've made up their mind. They have already stamped that person as a notsee or a misogynist or whatever sort of bigoted belief they associate with that dogwhistle. And that's not how you approach it, because part of understanding dogwhistles, is understanding the fact that not everyone is in on it.
As a Jewish person whose father is an Israeli immigrant, I think I can talk a little bit about the Free Palestine thing. Free Palestine is a good movement that can be used by bad people to justify bad opinions. Every good movement is like that. If I hear someone saying free Palestine, my first assumption is that they have a good opinion. They support a good movement, and we agree on the reasons why. Of course, some people will support the movement for the wrong reasons. If someone is regularly extremely anti-semitic and then they say free Palestine, I know that they probably support it because they hate Jews and not because they genuinely care about the Palestinian people. A broken clock is right twice a day, and their bigotry has accidentally led them to support a valid movement. That is obviously not most people who say free Palestine.
and i feel like there is a bigger portion of antisemitic people who like the idea of israel for the wrong reasons. like "oh jewish people living in their own place, away from me, and killing arabic people? sign me up." all that to say, there can be bad people on either side of an argument
I’m trans. He was talking about anti trans legislation and the definition of genocide. He brought up the “technical” definitions and questioned whether a group that isn’t an ethnic group technically falls under that definition. I busted into his comments to point out that arguments like this aren’t interesting philosophical musings, even if he says he supports trans rights, especially coming right after C-PAC and the whole “trans people aren’t an ontological category” bs. I pointed out that arguing over whether or not we count as a people group who can be murdered in mass lends credibility to the rights attempts to dehumanize us and that maybe the middle of the active fire isn’t the time to debate whether it’s arson. He blocked me.
when a man who is trying to be educational starts debating whether trans people can be victims of genocide and then blocks a trans person who says we are actively victims of genocide. how can you ever debate whether transgender people are victims of genocide based on the fact that “trans” isn’t an ethnicity??? how does this dude think he did something?????
i’m trans. trans people are not undergoing a genocide, end of story, so i don’t even know why it’s worth people’s time to debate whether or not trans people CAN undergo a genocide, i think it’s completely stupid. it’s akin to people arguing, and then more people arguing about what a person who’s arguings’ role in that argument is
@starmangriff the whole " geonocide" isn't really genocide, it's talking about the high suicide rates, and how trans people who aren't accepted are 50% more likely to commit themselves and 82% of trans teens have considered suicide

Yeah like I assumed it was ethical? I’m actually in an evil gay throuple. And just a little rant for taste, it kind of bothers me how people, mostly cishet men talk about polyamory. It’s not always a cishet but a lot of it is. They always have to clarify that it’s not for them and yeah, I assumed because you’re not polyamorous. You don’t have to make a big deal about it. Every time he says pansexual in this video he doesn’t say “oh that’s not for me I don’t get it, could not see myself dating a man or falling in love with people and not gender, the no preference isn’t for me.” it’s like yeah. Yeah, we get it because you’re not pansexual and it’s perfectly fine to have said opinion but you need to say it every time you talk about something you aren’t a part. Polyamory is a part of the lgbtq+ community because it *isn’t* the traditional relationship nowadays so you don’t need to act like someone thinks that you are polyamorous and it’s just kind of disheartening to hear every time someone talks about the way that I love people they feel like they have to say “I don’t get it and I do not want to do it and it’s not for me no no no siree bob! I do *not* get it. I do not get your sexuality.” I understand your preferences and what not but every time I talk about a straight person I’m not like “oh you’re straight? Yeah I mean that’s fine and all *but* I could NEVER do that. You *just* like the opposite gender?? Okay well that’s not me! I am not straight! You are but I am NOT.” Do you know what I mean? Just a super long comment but idk it’s just kind of a pet peeve of mine. I saw someone’s comment about how they tried polyamory and it wasn’t for them and that makes sense to me! Like you’re talking about your relationship, it’s relevant, it makes sense and it’s in context. Like even my parents have to tell me every time I remind them that I’m polyam that that would not work for them and that they would be too jealous like mom, no one is accusing you of being in the lgbtq+ we get it. Okay rant over I was just feeling a little goofy and wee bit silly-core 🤪✌️
I’ve heard it used when talking to monogamous people. Weirdly. Like- one of the meetups in my closest big city talks to other people referencing ENM but never those who actively practice polyamory to others who also practice polyamory. 🤷🏻♀️ It could also be my location though, as we are in the Bible Belt.
Zionism in and of itself isn't bad it's just the desire for a Jewish homeland free from anti-Semitism Like free Palestine people can use it negatively with hidden hate but most people don't hate
That whole “nonbinary partner” bit feels like a bait post taken dead seriously. I can’t stand people who use serious topics and education as an excuse to act like they’re above everyone else. The way he talks to his followers, the condescension, the immaturity… eugh.
It's honestly like hearing someone respond to a comment like "that's why women belong in the kitchen" by saying "well, I can't cook and also I'm homeless. Ha!"

I'm horrified that I briefly dated a guy JUST like him. He genuinely believed that if you weren't super left, you were a bad person and "deserved to be punched in the face in public to humiliate them into being better." He also manipulated me into poly relationship and every time I talked about how things weren't working and we should break up, he would tell me I was selfish, controling and a biggot. He was so incredibly fucked in the head and I'm so happy that I only wasted 6 months on him.
oh wow im glad youre out of that and i hope youre doing better. stuff like that is not a poly relationship, the only way for those to work if is everyone is happy and 100% consenting, what he did is disgusting

The Patrick Bateman-pansexual woman pipeline is very real. Coming from someone who is a pansexual woman, I can confirm. My last relationship was polyamorous and it did not go well at all. I fully support people who have those kinds of relationships. It’s just not for me. Anyway, every time Cooper releases a video, he mentions something that feels like a subliminal hint of him being in love with me. In this essay, I will-
As a bi/pan person who has polyamorous desires, thank you for not shitting on us even if you don’t understand. I know that’s the bare minimum but it feels so hard to get the bare minimum these days

@@harrehloueh4539 Oh, no problem at all! Non-binary is both a gender identity and an umbrella term, same with trans. Pronouns don’t really correlate with gender if you don’t want them to, as well. Some nonbinary people don’t like they them at all, it just depends on that person. I don’t use they bc it feels like it has been forced upon me by others, where someone at school would argue with me bc I did not want to be called they (this person wanted to be “inclusive” by calling everyone they, they’ve also apologized) it’s a lot, and sorry if it doesn’t make much sense lol

"I don't know how you think this is an insult in any form" gives real "A bitch is a dog, dogs bark, bark is part of a tree, trees are in nature and nature is beautiful, so you just called me beautiful" vibes
im poly and so i feel like i am allowed to speak on this more freely but like. there's a difference between being a cuck, and being poly. calling someone a cuck is basically like saying "your partner is cheating on you", and cheating can very well still exist in polyamorous relationships.
No, it means someone is banging your partner and you are ok with it, it also extents to you raising the children of other people. Say whatever you want, a man marrying a woman with two children from different fathers is simply laughable.
@@project_letters Its really all just based on if you are lying about who you are dating or not. So if you were dating two people, and went and slept with a different person without the other two's knowledge, then it would be cheating. Poly relationships are still "closed" in a sense, so if you want another person to join that poly relationship, everyone who is apart of that relationship needs to be on board with it.
Question! Let’s say there are three people in a relationship, do all three of them have to like each other? Or is that not necessary to be considered poly relationship?
I remember when I met him while performing at the same Renaissance faire years ago. Seeing a commentary video on him is wild. Edit: I just got to the Palestine/Isreal content and jfc. Not supporting the genocide of the palestinian people ≠ anti-semitism. And John has a masters in genocide studies. He should know better.
@@turqussy he is a seriously talented acrobat and dancer. He was really soft spoken and sweet to me since I was a guest on his cast. So watching his online presence switch to the History Wizard is wild.
Look, I'm not defending this particular shmuck or anything and I'm certainly coming at this with a healthy bias as a Jew and Israeli with decades of horrible internet experience, but in much the same way "Zionist" can instead be used as a different way to say "I hate Arabs", "pro Palestinian" can be used as a different way to say "I hate Jews". That's not unique to our lovely side of the world and our issues either- plenty love to make excuses to hate people. It's universal. I'm sure I'll get flamed for this as per usual but charitably I've certainly gotten some people describe themselves as "anti-zionist" which to them means "I want you, your family and infant daughter to die because you have no right to live"- and on the flip side, I have had the misfortune of finding insane 'tourists' (mostly American) who show up and are personally offended that, like, they run into Arab police officers or pharmacists or something, because they wanted to come here because they believed it to be "Arab-rein" or some other horribleness. So charitably, he could be talking about all that. But he's about as deep as a paper plate, so who knows.
Proud to say I got blocked by this dude a few years back before he really blew up. He has always been this condescending and never liked getting called out or being proven wrong.
Same. I always get super scared when the topic comes up because my first introduction to it was people using it as an excuse for antisemitism. So being able to see people talk about it with the nuance that it deserves is super nice! I’m very glad that people are willing to say their thoughts and opinions here
When talking to most Palestinians about the issue, you will find that we wholly do not support the antisemitic side of the movement. As a person who has had family members murdered by the idf, I hold no contempt towards Jewish people, only zionists. All we want is to be free to live our lives how we did before the occupation. The noisy minority of terrible antisemitic people in the movement bring us a lot of shame.
I agree!!!! My husband and I have caught so much hell over our marriage because I’m Jewish and he’s Syrian….yeah you get it. But hey they can hate all they want were 20 years in this year🥰
as a palestinian, whose own grandmother fled gaza, free palestine is almost never used as an anti semetic dog whistle. all of my (large) palestinian family, as well as myself have ZERO problem with jewish people or isreali people. Zionists are a different issue. in my opinion, it is a little like christian people using that as a reason to hate lgbt people. you cannot hate all christian people for that group of people, but you sure can hate the homophobic ones. :)
Yes. The key is Zionism and people typically end up on either side of: “You’re just antisemitic!” or “Screw all Jewish people!” And with that, no one will have a reasonable discussion about it.
As a Palestinian with a grandmother who fled Acre, I agree and say the same thing. The phrase "free Palestine is/can be an antisemitic dog whistle" sounds like the people saying "black lives matter means white lives don't"
For real. Most often than not, it’s (non-jewish) zionists the ones who are antisemitic. The thing is zionists like to conflate antisemitism and anti-zionism so that they can shield away from criticism and ignore the fact that that they support genocide and settler colonialism.
Lol as a polyamorous person (who has hung out with my partner’s partner and their partner’s partner’s partner) that response was so cringey and is an embarrassing way to talk about polyamory, especially in a response to a joke. It almost makes me embarrassed to be polyam myself. It reminds me of the polyam people I hate, the ones who think they’re better or more enlightened because they’re polyamorous. Like Cooper said, it’s not for everyone and you’re not better or worse because you are or aren’t polyamorous. I promise, most of us are not like that.
"don't listen to me, i'm the milf manor guy" is the funniest out of context quote, especially considering you're making good points. it feels to me like he learned that people with privilege should use their platforms to make people more aware of societal problems, but took to it with too much self-righteous white knight energy. while i appreciate anyone trying to use their platform to bring awareness, please don't try to act as an authority on something you have never experienced, my guy (aimed at the tiktok man, not cooper). it's not that hard to be considerate of the fact that people do not want or need some random ass man to be their savior also the tone he's using to describe the orientations of his partner....... i don't want to hear this man talk about nonbinary identities with the same vocal tone he uses when talking about dogwhistles
Hey Cooper, I’m an Israeli, raging leftist, and big fan (bit of a simp as well). The history wizard situation has put me and others alike in an extremely uncomfortable position. Jews are indigenous to the land of Israel, but that doesn’t mean Palestinians aren’t. Free Palestine is used to propel antisemitism sometimes, though that is far from the intention. It’s just a tricky line to tow because both of us deserve the land and both of us are so scared of losing that piece of history. The truth always lies in the middle
Thank you for saying what I was going to say. As soon as I saw that clip I stopped watching because I knew where he was going with it and it is exhausting hearing leftists talk about something they are just not informed about. And I too, say this as a raging leftist. The guy sucks, but he also never said that what the Israeli government is doing is okay. In fact, he said the opposite. But as soon as Jews try to add a nuanced opinion to the situation, we become colonizers who support ethnic cleansing. I'm exhausted.
Another leftist Israeli here, and I really like the way you described the situation. Both sides want the land, both sides have done wrong things, and you can't point out who's the bad guy since there is no bad guy. I also don't like the way people describe the occupation as ethnic cleansing, since there is a difference between kicking people out of their homes and murdering them (neither is good, but one is worse). A lot of uneducated people try to voice their opinion on the subject only hearing one side of the story (on both sides), and it really is exhausting.
i’m so glad you brought this up. people always take such a black and white stance without knowing the true nuances. as a jew, i feel awkward and unwanted in leftist spaces. i support palestine while also believing that jews have a right to be there too. i feel often, people group all jews with the israeli government which can make phrases like “free palestine” become something of an antisemitic dog whistle even if that wasn’t the original intention. the history wizard is still weird tho lmao
Shout out to all us leftist Jews who don't feel comfortable anywhere because we aren't allowed to have a nuanced opinion without being told we support ethnic genocide ❤ I hope comments like this will help people understand that the situation is a whole lot more complex than they think. And just to clarify, no, I do not think what the Israeli government is doing is okay and no, I do not support ethnic cleansing.
Hey, as a jewish guy, free palestine is typically used as a dog whistle. it's absolutely the right opinion, but it depends on the context; for example, commenting it on a video of palestinians talking about the conflict is completely normal and fine, but commenting it on an unrelated video of a jewish person just existing is not. this especially affects jewish people who do not live in israel, because they are dragged into and blamed for a conflict they have no control over. also, please be cautious as to how you handle conversations of dog whistles; a lot of the time they DO sound ridiculous and like they could not possibly mean anything, but as a non-jewish person you have the privilege of not needing to know that. because nobody is going to comment "6mwe" or "millions wear the hats" or "let's go gnome hunting" on a video you make, so you don't have to look up what that means. you have the benefit of not needing to memorize dog whistles. and while they can look completely random and arbitrary from the outside, i promise you that there are people who do know what they mean, and who are hurt by them. brushing things off and perceiving it as "oh, they think everything is a dog whistle" just causes more harm and allows antisemites to have more of a platform. if everyone believes that jewish people are exaggerating about the struggles they face, nothing is going to get better for us any time soon. i hope this doesn't come off as rude, i just know that a lot of people are very uneducated on this topic. also, to clarify, i am by no means a zionist. i support palestine completely and i do not condone the actions of the israeli government.
I used to follow him on TikTok. One time he made a video about the Dakota 38 (38 Dakota prisoners of war that were executed by the US government). There’s also 2 more prisoners from the same war that were executed at a later date. Altogether, they are commonly referred to as the Dakota 38+2. Anyway, he made a video about the Dakota 38, and I commented something like “isn’t it 38+2?” And he was like “it’s different dates so history counts them separately.” And it’s like… I know? That’s why they’re the Dakota 38+2 and not the Dakota 40. That “+2” is an important part of the story though. The thing with the History Wizard is this: According to him, he can never be even a little bit wrong, and everything he says will always be correct forever. Edit: “Does your wife’s boyfriend enjoy these videos?” First of all, awesome comment. Second of all, if he were to reply to that comment with a simple “Yes” that would’ve been such a power move.
This guy reminds me of when I posted fanart for this webcomic, which takes place in the Victorian era and my fanart featured two characters who canonically dislike each other very much. For context, one of them is black and the other one is white, with the second one being generally a "little shit", "cackles maniacally" kind of character who in the drawing was annoying the other one so he got called a "little rat" by him. I thought it was perfectly innocent and funny but then I got a comment by someone (albeit genuinely concerned and polite) that "rat" is a slur against Asian people and I shouldn't be using it. This was in the middle of 2020 and I understood their concerns but... In no way could my silly drawing of an annoying white guy being called a rat be mistaken for racism towards people from Asia??
Think people tend to not understand context behind why certain phrases are bad. Like I had a bf who called me "yellow" sometimes because I constantly wore a bright yellow rain jacket. I told my friend about this and he accused my ex of racism,,,despite the fact that I'm white, my friend is white, and my ex is asian. My friend proceeded to not back down when I said the accusation of racism didn't make sense. Idk I think people are so worried ab saying the right thing they kinda overcorrect
theres a documentary called 'feels good man' that's about the alt-right's use of pepe as a hate symbol and how it impacted pepe's creator who created pepe out of love. i've seen people purposefully try to reclaim pepe as a wholesome character. it's a really interesting watch i'd highly reccommend.
shalom! free palestine, fuck bibi and his lackeys, and i hope you have a lovely day on your side of the border! someday the bullets and bombs will stop and we can all share some good food and rebuild bridges.
@@erikasmith8894 if you just remove judaism from the picture it does everyone a huge service in this conversation. why is the sweeping generalization of jewish people necessary to your point? stop making this a jewish issue and treat it as a colonialism issue which it is. there is an entire movement of anti zionist orthodox rabbis that is literally one cursory google search away that could have saved you from making yourself look borderline antisemite jus now.
16:33 ....every time someone likes this comment, i will come back to it and be reminded that SOMEHOW. COOPER KNOWS THAT I AM A FUCKING PANSEXUAL WOMAN IN ECUADOR. I- HOW DOES HE KNOW
@@nunyabusiness7984 I don't know if you still need this information, but I'm just gonna put this out there anyway. Basically a dog whistle is some kind of thing like a meme or phrase that a certain group uses to communicate that they hold some opinions. But the purpose is that most people don't know that this group uses the dog whistle, so they can deny actually holding these opinions. So nazis would use pepe the frog images to signal that they are a nazi. But of course you can't call someone a nazi for using a pepe the frog image, because that in itself isn't a nazi symbol.
Also something that the history wizard seems fully unaware of (which, embarrassing when you boast about knowing history): memes have veeeeery different meanings in different cultures. I'm french and french internet and meme culture is widely different from the english one, because of how few of us speak english. pepe the frog is a completely different kind of meme, more of a meme used for bragging or like... 'captain obvious' shit? i've noticed this a lot as i moved into english internet culture, but images transfer without their meaning quite often. to decide that everyone who's ever reblogged a pepe meme is using it as a dog whistle when they might not even know any of the english internet culture around it is INSANE and exactly the kind of narrow-minded, dumb and shallow perception of history this kind of guy would have.
It's also fucked up bc the Nazis taking Pepe basically destroyed the artist that created him, and his original intention was wholesome, it's a very cute comic.
This guy has definitely helped me learn to recognize dog whistles and research things i find suspicious, but the things he says are so wildly black and white in terms of morality. The thing about dogwhistles is being intentionally discreet, so no, not everyone who uses them is automatically a nazi. it's very often typos, people thinking they're harmless slang, etc. critical thinking is so so important.
No yeah I definitely think it’s not as back and white and the people who think it is are scary. I once got accused of being a nazi over my shoe laces. One year I got nightmare before Christmas shoes and they came with plain black and red and black checkered laces, which I didn’t use for the shoes and just saved them. Later on my Doc Martin shoes laces died and I found the red checkered ones and so I used them. Not much later I was hanging out with friends, I was basically dressed like a fairy. Floral dress, white corset, doc martins, white fishnets, very gay looking. I had a friend who I had known for YEARS LITERAL YEARS look at my shoe laces and tell me “hey red laces mean you’re a Nazi” I was really really confused and I was like wtf? This person who I knew for years proceeded to genuinely question if I was a nazi. Just because I wore old red laces because I didn’t wanna buy new ones. They hated me for years after that interaction. I was ignored and treated like I was a nazi. I can’t believe SHOE LACES changed someone entire perspective of me after knowing me for years. It made me feel like a horrible person and I was made to feel like a n a z i Just because I didn’t wanna buy new laces. It made me cry and people who are actively looking for these signs I don’t think go outside.
OH MY GOD kbehfhfh you ARE right. Oh my god they'd be suchh good friends constantly trying to um actually each other. My money is on jory though because hes a legend
As a Palestinian, I appreciate what you said about Palestine belonging to Palestinians because it’s not a conflict of religion, it’s a conflict of ethnicity. Most Israeli zionists are European repeating the European history of colonization with the excuse of it being their homeland when what they’re doing to Palestinians is exactly what was done to them by the n a z i s, who were literally also ethnically cleansing them. Does that give them the right to inflict this same torture on someone else? No. And to prove that it is not a matter of religion, just look at how rabbis stand with Palestinians. This whole antisemitism twist is absolute propaganda, Jews are not the problem, extremist Zionists who (TRIGGER WARNING) set babies on fire and dance around them are the problem. And honestly it’s getting so tiring trying to explain this to people who are so easily influenced by the media and don’t do the slightest bit of research to try to understand then act like they’re saving humanity by supporting genocide. And if you’ve made it this far into the comment, I truly appreciate it.
hi :) i agree this is horrible, but i'd like to point out something. zionism just means you believe jewish people have the right to self-determine in their homeland, INCLUDING PALESTINIAN PEOPLE, in my views at least. what you're trying to present as 'zionism' is actualy Kahanism. both peoples have a right to the land. secondly, saying that a lot of israeli jews are white/european is incorrect! that's ashkenazi jews, who were sent to russia, ukraine, and northern europe during the diaspora. sephardic jews, on the other hand, were sent to spain and throughout the middle east. i've been to israel twice and a lot of israelis are brown and middle-eastern. third, the 'set babies on fire and dance around them' is... blatantly untrue? that's what's known as blood libel, and as someone with ISRAELI RELATIVES WHO HAS BEEN THERE, no, it doesn't happen.
@@squishycatfish2577 they would have been welcome if they simply moved there. the land has always been palestine, but it was home to jews as well and still is because there are palestinian jews too, hence why this is again not a war of religions. but for israelis to take over and ethnically cleanse palestinians with some claim over the land is beyond unethical and cruel and literally goes against international law. there’s no justification for it. this whole colonization attempt and partial success was instigated by england to push white jews away, which is wrong in the first place because hello just let them live but then to also back them up to attack an innocent third party? also, the setting babies on fire, that is not libel, that is simply what is constantly being kept out of the media. search up ali dawabsheh. i have family and friends in palestine too, and i know just how much they’re suffering. and i am palestinian and i have never once set foot in palestine, and neither have my parents because my grandmother (who is older than the state of israel, keep in mind) was forced out of her home when she was a child. i’m sorry but you cannot ever justify that.
I think every boy that agrees with the behavior of Patrick Bateman hasn't read the book like it's genuinely disturbing. Also, the book was written by a gay man making a parody of this behavior, the movie was directed by a woman and Christian Bale is the opposite of the character. Like they missed the whole point by 20 miles...
Cooper talking about how even though he doesn’t have a desire for polyamory, he respects it and then when he said about his subscribers and followers and how there’s very likely some who are polyamorous, when he said “I love you” and “You’re doing great” it almost made me cry. I’ve only ever been in one relationship before and knowing what I want is difficult for me as I would lie to myself about wanting what other people want so I would be normal, that caused me to struggle knowing when something I want is actually something I want. I don’t know if I would ever be in a polyamorous relationship, but knowing Cooper would respect it either way makes me happy.
As an ambiamorous person (someone who is comfortable with both mono and poly relationships) I do kinda get why he reacted the way he did to the 'cuck' comment. It's an attack (unintentional or not) on your relationship, which you already get discriminated for, so you naturally want to defend your relationship and educate them on why it isn't a bad thing. However, his tone and the way he describes it completely ruins any point he might have. He says it like it's a gotcha moment, completely disregarding the fact that the comment wasn't meant as an attack on poly relationships. He also speaks as if being polyamorous makes him morally superior somehow. The lack of awareness is very hard to watch and only gave more power to the original comment.
Dude totally. There was nothing inherently wrong with the cuck video, apart from the general condescending vibe he always has, but it was just kind of stupid. It was obviously just a silly hate comment and in what fucking world would "actually i'm in a queer polyamorous relationship idiot" be a gotcha moment? did he expect the commenter to shake in their boots and realize their mistake? 😭
Yeah but the thing is he should have just ignored the comment. Someone making a Cuck Comment isn’t going to be like “oh I got the pronouns of the people involved, my apologies.” This guy is approaching it like he’s being called a virgin or incel. If he were being called a virgin or an incel, if phrased better (like; I’m literally in a polycule, I have MULTIPLE partners, I’m not a virgin.) it might actually be a good comeback (it would require him to explain it in a way that isn’t super cringey and a little confusing tho)
From what I recall about the Pepe the Frog situation: It was co-opted by the n-a-z-i-s against the will of the original artist, who I think went on to sue some people over it as well, or at the very least put out a cease and desist. So the original artist took it back, and other people with that knowledge went on to reclaim it to be just a meme. It has a history of being co-opted by the goose-steppers, but that wasn't the intention of the artist, and there's a lot of other ways it's been applied to other memes, so just the singular use of a single Pepe does not a n-a-z-i make. It *is* way more complicated now because so many people have taken it back and used it for actual memes, and not, you know, bigotry. It's not the same as the Obvious Hate Symbol, because while that has been used for other purposes before the Mustache Man, there's really no one else who uses it now as it is, not even the religion it came from. If I recall correctly, Buddhists have changed the symbol or refuse to use it because of the association. It's similar to nordic runes in that sense, as those have been stolen by the n-a-z-i-s to somehow symbolize their "heritage" or something (which is gross, because they like to just mush all the "acceptable whites" into a big, historically inaccurate slurry), but you always gotta look at the context for how they're used. Sure, some of them are Absolute No-Gos, but a lot of them aren't, and just assuming n-a-z-i until proven innocent isn't fair to the people who are just practicing their religion whose symbols were stolen from them.
4chan first adopted pepe in many boards, the main reason its seen as alt-right is because 4chan didn't want pepe to be mainstream hence they made it seem as if only alt alright boards used him as a dog whistle to white nationalism when it was just used on 4chan as a whole on all boards as well as trading cards

Cooper fact-checking dog whistles with an actual dog is an eccentric solution, but definetely an interesting one. Just found out about your channel today, and you surely do not dissapoint.
In the full video of the history wizard going over the whole "free Palestine" dog whistle, he clarifies that it's only antisemetic when placed under a Jewish person's video, or someone who looks Jewish to the alt right, when the video itself has nothing to do with politics. Not the best take, but still full context is best to know when you're assessing a situation
I mean, it is a good take, as he is right. I would be wary if someone commented free palestine on the video of a jewish creator. Cooper just deliberately left out that part

You missed on this one dude. I don’t think you understand what most of his content covers and although he has a know-it-all tone, he actually has good information about things. As somebody who is pro-Palestine, I still understand when it can be a dog whistle to say “Free Palestine.” I will see random videos of Jewish content creators or maybe like a video of Orthodox Jews in New York, and like 50 comments will be like “Free Palestine.” The videos will have nothing to do with Israel at all, but the neo-Nazis in the comments will say “Free Palestine” or like if the Jewish person is happy, they’ll say something like “Israeli soldiers celebrating after killing a Palestinian child.” It’s blatant antisemitism, and if you don’t know about that part of the internet, you’re out of your depth talking about this guy.
I honestly don’t know how to properly phrase this but there are some videos where it’ll just be a Jewish person and all the comments are about Palestine, regardless of if they’re Israeli or not. I think sometimes it is just used to stir things in Jewish spaces but that could just be my opinion

I'm a Jewish person who lives in israel. This video was quite hard for me to watch because I don't like people talking casually about a subject that is very traumatising for me and many others, but I would still like to share my opinion. First of all, I'm a part of the free Palestine movement. However, when I hear someone say "free Palestine" online it makes me automatically feel a bit unsafe, because I got a lot of hate comments from people who believe they can harass every Jewish/ Israeli person because of the actions of our shitty government. Generally I would recommend not talking lightly about this subject if you're not affected by it, especially because every single day we hear news about another person dying, no Matter from which side. I'm always open for a respectful conversation, but I feel like this is not a subject that should be talked about lightly in a commentary video, especially from someone who hasn't done the proper research. Anyway, love your content ❤
A dog whistle is a 'sign' that group of people use to communicate with each other or indicate that they're a part of that group without making it obvious for people that aren't concerned. It's a dog whistle because a whistle 'call'/attract attention towards you from people that hear it, however dog whistles have usually a sound so high that dogs can hear but not human. In this context, the dogs are the other members of the group and the humans are the unawares. It's used a lot by group that need to not be noticed by the rest of people because what they're doing is either a crime, absolutely hated or they simply don't want to debate what they're doing/thinking.
dude this guy called me a self hating jew bc I'm anti-zionist and then blocked me when my response video got more engagement/views. he's not jewish and intentionally phrases things in a way to make it sound like he is and then weaponize that marginalization against people.
I mean,,, the dude has some bad takes but this does feel a bit much. Am I missing something? Does he have worse videos that are more racist or something? If not, this feels like just bullying someone bc you don't agree with everything they say and personality think they're annoying...
I am thinking the same.. I haven't seen he's videos but cmon there are people saying the most bizarre s_xist and racbist sh1t yet people are out here dunking on him..
I’m poly (admittedly closed relationship group polyamorous) but I want to throw something at the people that think they’re socially superior because they’re poly. Where are they coming from all of a sudden?
Not a wizard guy stan or whatever but wanted to add some context. I understand your take but I think you and most people are missing some context (which definitely wasn't helped by him going private). Like the bit about "free palestine as an antisemitic dogwhistle." In the original (which I understand most people no longer have access to), he explains that something can be a dog whistle sometimes and not one other times becuase of context and that it is only a potential dog whistle because many neo nazis have co opted the "free palestine" movement to push antisemitism (which he makes clear is not the intentions of the actual Free Palestine movement which is, in his words: "a human rights campaign to end the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people"). I'm not a zionist but as a Jewish person, I can confidentely say that many leftist spaces push or at least tolerate antisemitic rhetoric, especially in Israel-Palestine discussions ie calling Israelis "colonizers" and thus ignoring the long history of the colonization of jewish people. Both Palestinians and Jews (or at the very least the specific subset of jewish people descended directly from the Hebrews) are indigenous to that land. The atrocities committed by the Israeli government should not and cannot be ignored and while I do not agree with the wizard's zionism, I think (despite obvious tone problems) he has been pretty consistent in opposing the Israeli governments actions against Palestinians (he literally calls it an ethnic cleansing, which is an accurate term but is more than I've seen any other zionist do, low bar yes but still) without pushing antisemitic rhetoric. And in providing the nuance that something can be a dog whistle without always being one (but that nuance seems to be later in the video which is lost because he went private). I completely understand what message you may have recieved from what is now available but I do think you have missed some important parts of the conversation. I originally followed him for the dog whistle content as many such dog whistles I was entirely unfamiliar with (despite usually being their target) and when I found his zionist content, I unfollowed but then later refollowed so I could hear the arguments of a perspective I disagree with from someone who wasn't just spewing racist shit instead of antisemitic shit (like he is a zionist but he doesn't call all Palestinian resistance terrorism which such an abusurdly low standard but he is prehaps the only zionist I can stomach listening to to gain that perspective and information). I don't think he's an incredible content creator and definitely agree with a number of your criticisms (ehm anti-zionism) and have my own (about his weird polyamory and veganism takes to name a few). Honestly, I don't even think he's a good educator, his tone and defensive behavior undoubtedly alienates many and he is clearly not receptive to feedback. I do, however, think there is, and should be, a bit more nuance in this discussion (and the larger free palestine movement). I really don't want to think that you are purposely misleading or ommitting evidence because that doesn't seem like the kind of person you are and am really hoping this is just a case of building an opinion without access to the complete context but in some parts it felt like you were purposely being misleading by painting it as wizard man saying everything is black and white, dog whistle or not, when he even gives that nuance in some of the clips he showed. This comment section is filled with people agreeing with you because "he makes things too black and white" but that isn't really true and this video seems to be spreading this misinformation. His agressive tone and demeanor are offputting and I would totally understand if this video was uncharitable due to the limited, negative clips and a sense of superiority (from the wizard man) but really hope that you might reconsider this stance given more context.
THIS ^^ it’s so important to aknowledge how nuanced the situation is and to note that the full clip was not put into the video! It cuts off important context
LOL this hurt my eyes so much to read bc there was so much text and youtube has so little linespacing... I am a supporter of the Free Palestine movement but I agree that people are very misinformed about the situation. That being said, Cooper screwed up here TBH. Maybe he should just stick to being the MILF manor guy because when it comes to discussion of something as serious as an ethnic cleansing, you can't afford to just spread blatant misinformation! It really is not that hard to find a full clip of the original TikTok and understand that while the History Wizard is pretty odd, he's NOT condemning the use of "Free Palestine".
I agree. I’ve been enjoying Cooper’s videos recently but this one was a bit concerning for me. I know he’s probably joking around, but in the History Wizard’s video he says distinctly says “things I don’t think are dog whistles but are probably red flags: Patrick Bateman profile pics” and then Cooper goes on to say that history wizard thinks all Patrick Bateman profile pics are dog whistles and people who use them are evil. Like that’s a very obvious misrepresentation of what he said. Then with the Zionism, I’m sure there is a LOT to critique about his views and the way he presents them, but saying Jewish people are Indigenous to the land doesn’t mean he said Palestinians aren’t. Copper used the term “exclusive” despite history wizard never saying that. Also he’s missing the context for the whole “free Palestine can be an antisemitic dog whistle” thing which is fair since he only has access to certain clips, but like… this is a LOT of misinformation and mischaracterization. I think Cooper is a nice guy and I don’t think he was intentionally trying to twist things, but he may have gotten carried away with his critiques to the point that they didn’t really reflect reality and were really just targeting a strawman. I don’t even think I can get through the full video lol. Time to move onto something lighter so I can keep enjoying Cooper’s videos without feeling weird about it. This one was a strange one.
@@elizabethgrey6040 this is off topic, but an issue i personally had with this video is that though cooper is right in terms of the wizard’s way of speaking on things or presenting/tackling issues can be be off putting bc it comes off as self righteous and thus counterproductive, I can’t help but feel it’s a little unfair to say that. In that, Cooper seems to imply in his criticism that the people shouldn’t come across like that or should try not to come across like that, but I can’t help but feel that take comes exclusively from a very “unwilling to shake the status quo or upset anyone” kind of mindset, and/or from the stance of someone who has never had to go through frustrating discrimination (tho im not gonna speak on the wizard’s behalf and say that he has cuz idk his situation). As someone who has been in situations where an assertive or even angry response is justified over and over again, it’s a little disheartening to hear that being said bc it feels like being told that i should just be nice and bear people who say ignorant shit to me and don’t even think twice about and I have to be the one that caters to them and i have no right to have a human response. I’m not saying that’s what cooper is saying exactly, but that’s what it comes across as. And im not saying cooper is doing it intentionally maliciously. (I also wanna make clear im not saying this in regards to any of the wizard’s views or takes on the palestine israeli conflict because Im not informed enough to).
I think the main 'trap' is well explained here - it's not because something is/was used as a dog whistle, it's not because it CAN be that it IS. An example in a totally other context: if I say "every person that drink this beer is gay", I would be wrong. What if they didn't see the ad (didn't learn about how it's used as a dog whistle) ? What if they just like the beer anyways (use for example a meme because it's funny but not as a dog whistle)? What if someone gave them a beer and they just accepted it (received a meme and liked it, or see a picture of x and find it cool)? Caution here: I precised the context is different because they don't mean the same consequences obviously, but it's the same case of this thing = x without exception in some people minds. You can say you think this refer to this thing. You can say " hey, I think this thing refer to x most of the time." But you can't say 'this thing refer to x absolutely all the time no exception never "
Yeah, this is what the History Wizard is constantly explaining on his page, but Cooper left out from most of his tiktoks in this video. He mentions exactly that in the Free Palestine video (is a dog whistle just when used in an innocous video with jewish people on it, not on a video about the conflict)

Okay, Cooper, yes this guy is being smug and self righteous about it, as he is a lot of things, but I don't really believe he's wrong or deserves the hate that hes getting. He calls himself the History Wizard, so I don't think him saying "no matter what Pepe's/Patrick Bateman/laser eyes orgins are, they were co-opted by the alt right as a dogwhistle, and used by them extremely often, to the point where they gained legitimate meme status. If you use them innocently and without knowing about the dogwhistle thing though, you can't really get mad at someone who does know about it thinking you might be a part of one of those groups who use those memes to identify each other and make the people those groups dislike feel unsafe. Onto the Israeli/Palestine conflict issue, the facts are: 1.Judaism *IS* a religion, but also an ethnicity that is indigenous to the area of Israel that *has* been living in diaspora for thousands of years. 2. The Israeli government is performing human rights violations with the goal of an ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people who are also indigenous to the same area, which is wrong. 3. Anti-semitism is a massive problem all around the world, and the Jewish people deserve to have a place they can't be kicked out of like they have been many many many countries over thousands of years. 4. Palestinians deserve to not be kicked out of their homes, not live in a war zone, and not be occupied by people who want to wipe them out too (like Jewish people as an ethnic group has been victim to over hundreds of years). 5. Anti-semites have used Free Palestine and the existence of Israel as a talking point to prove their point that "Jews are bad", just like Zionists have used the historical Anti-semitic atrocities, like the holocaust, etc, as a defense for the current atrocities against the Palestinian people being perpetrated by the Israeli government and military, All these facts can and do co exist at once, and it's a complicated, tricky, gray area situation that I do not have the answer to, and any answer will likely not come easily to anyone, including the people who know more about the situation and what they're talking about than anyone here in the comments of a RUclips video or on tiktok. If there was an easy solution to the issue, it would have been figured out years ago. This is one of the rare issues where both sides have equally legitimate reasons to be upset at the other, and it's very much a situation where fence sitting is extremely difficult but entirely necessary to come up with a solution to the issue. Because fence sitting is hard, people usually fall on one side or the other, and forget the valid reasons the other side has to be upset, which encourages justified anger.
From the river to the sea Palestine will be free. Muslims, Christens and Jews coexisted in Palestine before the existence of the "Zionist state". The unfair treatment of Jews in Europe does not justify Palestinians and Arabs paying for your ancestors crimes. Before the displacement (Nakba) of more than 800,000 Palestinians , Arab Jews were always part of Arab society. In fact they were the safest around Arabs and Muslims. But after the Nakba they were also forced out if their countries, which is very wrong but it is their reaction to the "Zionist state" actions. The "Zionist state" is settler colonization in modern day. Its existence is more than violence. Jews can be native to Palestine if they are Palestinian. Others are setters from the west, eastern Europe, east Africa, morocco or even Iraq. In fact Palestinians, Syrians or Lebanese are ethnically closer to the Semites that were there long before. or literally any Arab is more Semitic than some polish or Ukrainian that believe they are native to a land in ME. Just because some anti-semites feel like Jews are proving their point in " Jew bad" with their actions towards Palestinians, that doesn't not delegitimize the wanting of Palestinians liberation. Honestly why should what anti-simits say matter when the phase in question is regarding the liberation of a long oppressed nation and not some silly chant. saying that ethnic cleansing and settler colonization has both side, and that both have a valid reason to upset the other is extremely disgusting and honestly scarily. how many of the historical atrocities that have absolutely had only one side ( holocausts, Iraq war, the creation of the US...etc.) would you be sympathetic to if they happen in your time? or do you need all Palestinians to be wiped out to understand that Jews could have lived if Palestine without wiping out the natives? I can see that you aren't like the rest of the Zionist ( you might not even identify as one but you are) you are a bit sympathetic but the slight misinformation you have makes you seem like a genocide apologizer. There is no both sides when one is backed with more than 3 billion $ from the US and the other has rocks and fireworks. maybe this will irritate you but your both sides centric take is irritating.
@ً have you considered he maybe misspoke and meant the Celtic cross, the iron cross, the blood drop cross, or maybe was referring to how the Russian orthodox church has been quickly growing among far right Americans, especially after the invasion of Ukraine?
this guy sees everything so black and white. just because some antisemites will say “free palestine” out of antisemitism doesn’t mean that saying “free palestine” is an antisemitic dogwhistle. by his logic, if an antisemite said “nice weather we’re having” then talking about the weather would be an antisemitic dogwhistle. being anti-israel is not being anti-jewish and you can criticize the israeli government for its deplorable actions without it having anything at all to do with judaism. blows my mind that some people just can’t seem to comprehend nuance like, at all.
The first time i saw this guy it was a post of him saying that it wasn’t ok to take away pedophile’s and sex offenders rights because you can’t “arbitrarily take away people’s rights because they don’t like the things that they do” and then shows a clip of him saying Racists and Homophobes shouldn’t legally be allowed to vote
Can we talk about how in his bio he says "unfortunately not Jewish," like fucking bruh, imagine him being like, unfortunately not trans, unfortunately not black. Like am i reading too much into it or is it really tone-deaf? Cause theres nothing actually wrong with being any of those, but society definitely says there is and people face actual violence and hate for these things and it just seems like out of touch to say 'unfortunately' like being jewish is such a fucking awesome thing to exist as in a world that literally tries to kill them off. Jews are cool, their culture is cool, but it just feels like, coming from a creator constantly talking about antisemitism, it just sounds like such a privileged thing to say. Like saying this misfortune is his for not being Jewish? When its unfortunate that actually Jewish people get killed and hated just for existing, but you know, so sad for him he doesnt get to experience that first hand(?!?!) Please tell me if im being unreasonable or tone deaf myself, its just as a queer person, who has felt irked when cishet people are like, "i wish i was gay, itd be so much easier, yadda yadda yadda blahblahbleh," it just doesn't sit right with me. I get the intent isnt to undermine Jewish peoples experience, but as an "education content creator" where most of his content is calling out dog whistles and antisemitism, youd think someone so educated would understand the implications. Idk yall, am i tripping or reaching?
Because polyamorous relationships are valid, and nonbinary people deserve to who they are validated. They where showing it to show that it is normal and nothing wrong with it.
From my experiance, i cant trust people who just say that the want to free palestine, because i dont know if its from a place of love for the palestiniane people or hate to jews.
this exactly, helping palestinian people is incredibly important but too much discourse online cycles back to antisemitism, instead of a critique of the government it becomes as "critique" of jewish people as a whole which isn't ok
@@emilyglonek7417 exactly, i agree that the israel government is fucked (i was born and raised in israel and my parent and family tell me all the shit thats happening), but that should not encorage anti-semitism. please correct me if i'm wrong (i'm just trying to learn!) but i thought being polyamorous meant that all people involved were all attracted to one another and were all in one relationship. but the guy cooper is talking about said that he was just friends with his spouse's partner. is that the same as polyamoury?
I also really hope Cooper isn't an anti-Semite as cutting the man off like that was highly suspect at best. honestly the part that drives me up a wall is that on a level he can still be correct in terms of the dog whistles but he loses it when he says "everyone who does this is a n-a-z-i" because as he has mentioned
yes the whole point of a dog whistle is to add a layer of plausible deniablity, but it also ignores that those "whistles" started somewhere that wasnt from a point of malicious intent, and most people who arent constantly online would probably miss the memo that 4chan coopted pepe the frog and that pepe has still be used by people who arent bigots since then anyway
its like saying if u make a shitpost about the old mcdonald's moon mascot ur a bigot cause 4chan coopted him for racist stuff for a stint before getting bored, or the circle game getting coopted but not shitty people still playing it
yes the point of the dog-whistle is for plausible deniability, but its more helpful to say "unless the person has a history of being a bigot, if they post a pepe its safe to say theyre probably not a bigot because they posted the funny frog" instead of "everyone who uses the wojack memes are ALL FASCISTS"
not to mention the guy saying everyone who says free palistine is antisemetic like

What is a dog whistle

I pointed out that arguing over whether or not we count as a people group who can be murdered in mass lends credibility to the rights attempts to dehumanize us and that maybe the middle of the active fire isn’t the time to debate whether it’s arson. i’m trans. trans people are not undergoing a genocide, end of story, so i don’t even know why it’s worth people’s time to debate whether or not trans people CAN undergo a genocide, i think it’s completely stupid. it’s akin to people arguing, and then more people arguing about what a person who’s arguings’ role in that argument is

No, it means someone is banging your partner and you are ok with it, it also extents to you raising the children of other people. Say whatever you want, a man marrying a woman with two children from different fathers is simply laughable.
How does that work? /Genq

As a Jewish person, it makes me feel really safe in this community to see people willing to talk openly about Palstine/Israel without being attacked
I don't have to attack Jews if God will smite them for me.
it's also a topic that americans think they know a lot about when we really don't.
Yes. The key is Zionism and people typically end up on either side of:
“You’re just antisemitic!”
or
“Screw all Jewish people!”
And with that, no one will have a reasonable discussion about it.
It’s Extremism.
As a Palestinian with a grandmother who fled Acre, I agree and say the same thing. The phrase "free Palestine is/can be an antisemitic dog whistle" sounds like the people saying "black lives matter means white lives don't"
@@shiruki8974 exactly!!
Why are you that
"don't listen to me, i'm the milf manor guy" is the funniest out of context quote, especially considering you're making good points. it feels to me like he learned that people with privilege should use their platforms to make people more aware of societal problems, but took to it with too much self-righteous white knight energy. while i appreciate anyone trying to use their platform to bring awareness, please don't try to act as an authority on something you have never experienced, my guy (aimed at the tiktok man, not cooper). it's not that hard to be considerate of the fact that people do not want or need some random ass man to be their savior
also the tone he's using to describe the orientations of his partner....... i don't want to hear this man talk about nonbinary identities with the same vocal tone he uses when talking about dogwhistles
@splinter תודה 💞
Anyway, he made a video about the Dakota 38, and I commented something like “isn’t it 38+2?” And he was like “it’s different dates so history counts them separately.”
And it’s like… I know? That’s why they’re the Dakota 38+2 and not the Dakota 40. That “+2” is an important part of the story though.
The thing with the History Wizard is this: According to him, he can never be even a little bit wrong, and everything he says will always be correct forever.

I've heard of a rat being an insult for someone shady or who turns on their own friends or organization, a lot. Never heard of it being racial.

dog whistles mean nazis in this right?? also, would you happen to know what peppe the frog has to do anything?

Sending love im so sorry all this shit is happening ❤️❤️
Not religious but pray that you are protected and stay safe. A lot of people feel for the Palestinians and wish this wasn’t going on x
hi :) i agree this is horrible, but i'd like to point out something. zionism just means you believe jewish people have the right to self-determine in their homeland, INCLUDING PALESTINIAN PEOPLE, in my views at least. what you're trying to present as 'zionism' is actualy Kahanism. both peoples have a right to the land. secondly, saying that a lot of israeli jews are white/european is incorrect! that's ashkenazi jews, who were sent to russia, ukraine, and northern europe during the diaspora. sephardic jews, on the other hand, were sent to spain and throughout the middle east. i've been to israel twice and a lot of israelis are brown and middle-eastern. third, the 'set babies on fire and dance around them' is... blatantly untrue? that's what's known as blood libel, and as someone with ISRAELI RELATIVES WHO HAS BEEN THERE, no, it doesn't happen.

Someone making a Cuck Comment isn’t going to be like “oh I got the pronouns of the people involved, my apologies.”
This guy is approaching it like he’s being called a virgin or incel.

I'm not being judgemental or anything but heeereeee meeeee outtttt

"What about the lesbians in Bolivia?" is a question we should ask ourselves more often. Yes. What about the lesbians in Bolivia?
I honestly don’t know how to properly phrase this but there are some videos where it’ll just be a Jewish person and all the comments are about Palestine, regardless of if they’re Israeli or not. I think sometimes it is just used to stir things in Jewish spaces but that could just be my opinion

Yes "Free Palestine" is a weapon used against Jewish people for existing.
I'm so confused whats a dog whistle I thought it was the actual object we were talking about in the beginning but now I'm confused

I’m poly (admittedly closed relationship group polyamorous) but I want to throw something at the people that think they’re socially superior because they’re poly. Where are they coming from all of a sudden?
Why tho
It really is not that hard to find a full clip of the original TikTok and understand that while the History Wizard is pretty odd, he's NOT condemning the use of "Free Palestine".
this
He mentions exactly that in the Free Palestine video (is a dog whistle just when used in an innocous video with jewish people on it, not on a video about the conflict)
what does dog whistle mean tho?

This guy is the personification of “well actually…☝️🤓”
The free Palestine “dog whistle” is only a dog whistle in 1 very specific context: under a Jewish person’s video/post where they aren’t talking about Israel/palestine in said video/post. The other 99.99% of the time, it’s solidarity with Palestinian people
Okay, Cooper, yes this guy is being smug and self righteous about it, as he is a lot of things, but I don't really believe he's wrong or deserves the hate that hes getting.
5. Anti-semites have used Free Palestine and the existence of Israel as a talking point to prove their point that "Jews are bad", just like Zionists have used the historical Anti-semitic atrocities, like the holocaust, etc, as a defense for the current atrocities against the Palestinian people being perpetrated by the Israeli government and military,
All these facts can and do co exist at once, and it's a complicated, tricky, gray area situation that I do not have the answer to, and any answer will likely not come easily to anyone, including the people who know more about the situation and what they're talking about than anyone here in the comments of a RUclips video or on tiktok.

When its unfortunate that actually Jewish people get killed and hated just for existing, but you know, so sad for him he doesnt get to experience that first hand(?!?!)
