As @bobbiejay2085 observes, these are the original colours. The interior of the chateau is fully heritage listed. While we are not forced to slavishly observe the original colour scheme, we aim to execute a true restoration that captures the original spirit of the chateau. And importantly, we like the black skirting boards!

I used to help an uncle in my younger years with his tenement houses restoring apartments that were lathe and horse hair plaster and it was quite the task and mess. Nothing on the scale of what you are doing but it gave me an appreciation for this type of work and the skills I acquired on the way. Repointing and glazing windows, rehanging doors after squaring frames, electrical and plumbing sweating pipe. Everything is plastic now you can hardly find anyone to do these things. Skills I have passed on to my children so they don’t have to call a guy. Such a project as this would be too much for me now physically but I really enjoy watching these videos. Takes me back some 40 yrs
"To drill down through multiple floors and entresols" That's what I call getting your hands dirty! Amazing commitment and patience to make sure everything is done right.
You may consider placing a glass cover over the wallpaper behind the sink to prevent splash & cleaning solvents from discoloring and/or damaging it. This turned out absolutely BEAUTIMOUS. ❤️🙏
Agree those high set faucets have a propensity to splash badly.
I just had the most interesting thought when I watched you sit down on that lovely chair you placed in the corner …how you sat was so fun to watch ..because you were so comfortable and at peace and at home and you didn’t feel the need to be ladylike and prim and proper in your beautiful château, and I thought of the contrast from the original ladies… I would love to sit down and have tea with all the original ladies of the château and see their reactions to watching you be such a wonder, woman bad ass! They would look at you with three heads like, “But you’re the lady of the house. Why are you doing the labor????? lol. 😂 well done it’s magnificent.

I get goosebumps when I see these befores and afters, and hearing the glee in your voice brings it all together! I'm so happy for you!
The paint colors and color pallet are so beautiful and unique. You really don’t see it everywhere today and it makes it so special. I’ve seen in places of this time period the black skirting board and it’s exciting for some reason for me to see it incorporated in this room, too. A confirmation to me of the commonality of it during the time, perhaps. And our modern perceptions of a BLACK skirting board. Something we don’t usually think of as a good or smart idea. Talk about leading lines that, though they’re a very pronounced black, don’t draw your eye to, but simply defines the size and space and complements everything above and around it. Crazy it all took two years. And, indeed, the challenges, no doubt, had so much to do with it. Almost like the blueprint for the entire chateau with the rewiring and plumbing requirements to make this place functionable. Can’t wait to see the completed shower.
Seeing you sitting on that beautiful blue chair, gazing at what you have achieved, must have been a very satisfying experience…..and so well deserved. Even your dog seemed to agree. Congratulations!

The work you put in is amazing! Here in Sweden we always use period correct pants in these kinds of restorations. Linseed oil paint on wood and mostly distemper in ceilings for example. Works very well and looks beautiful. And good for the environment!

I LOVE the Sator square! As a craftsperson that takes a great deal of pride in her work, I love that you are saving this chateau. In an age of mass manufacturing, 3d printing, CNC machines, etc, Purnon stands as a monument to what can be accomplished by human hands using the most basic of tools and a dedication to excellence. One interpretation of the meaning of the Sator Square is, “The Creator preserves his work.” I believe that the craftsman inscribed it on the wall as a blessing/talisman to preserve the chateau. Apparently it worked because she has found new guardians that are working hard to ensure her survival.

It's a stunning room and a stunning renovation. But my practical side wondered how you would manage to use the sink. Even if you are extra careful, water splashes and that beautiful wallpaper gets wet and doesn't last long. Some kind of transparent protection is probably needed. But other than that, it is stunning and I admire your determination so much. Greetings from Austria

Regarding the chimneys, we're a little puzzled - there are ten large chimney stacks across the roofline of the chateau. They are fairly evenly distributed so as to maintain the harmony and symmetry of the chateau,
I forgot how BIG that house is! I’m looking at 16:30, as the drone moves up and away. It’s the END, not one of the faces! 🤦♂️ My bad. But that roof is BEEoootiful!
