I was there. first time I saw Buddy live, wow.
So was I in the Chase Hotel.
@@MrPatdeeee I was there I don't know about you
@@jimstahlhut1917 I said, "So was i, in the Chase Hotel" in '77. Also, Buddy Emmons on that stage (creating that album) introduced the E-Bow on two of the songs on the album:
1. "Mansion on the Hill."
2. "Once Upon a Time In the West".
And I had the honor to be with Buddy when he bought two "E-Bows" in the Spring of '77 in a NAMM musical convention in Atlanta. He was a dear friend.
And as soon as he bought them; he opened the package; and threw the owner's manual on the floor. And he began testing it out on his guitar. As I was reading the manual; he stopped and said, "Hoss, is there any thing anything I should know about this thing?
I looked at him and said, "NOT one single thing!". For he had already mastered it; and drove me crazy; listening to music from Heaven I do say. It blew me away.
I shall never forget that scenario. May Jesus rest his precious Soul.
When I was younger, it used to drive me buggy that Randy didn't play a fat and sassy B3, but that Rhodes has grown on me and is genius (and that goes double for Help Me Make it Through the Night)
yes the Rhodes ruled the roost in '77 and was probably Buddy's choice. Randy is just so damn good on this set
