Your old man seems to know a fair bit across a number of different trades. Ever thought about doing a vid on him? I'd be interested to know a bit more.
Noticed a great deal of comments about your Dad. Can you guys please do an intro video with him too. He must be a busy man but alot of us want to know more about him too. Other than that another great guys. Hats off to you both. God bless you all.
Good video blokes, And would definitely like to have a video with you guys talking with your old man he seems like a really genuine good bloke who definitely raised his kids right. You blokes are living the dream spot Dan always wanting to hang out at your shed now haha. I would love to put a hoist in on my property would definitely make the Cummins conversion a lot easier 👍👍👍
You know you've got a nice shed when you can back a full size concrete truck into it. 👌 I bet that hoist keeps you boys around home for a while to come, Your dad is a smart bloke 👍
It looks like your Dad does this every day. Concrete was so smooth. 😮 Edit: The patrol needs some sliders. Luckily mechanic Dan can help. 😀 Definitely the ultimate shed mod.
LOL. A lot of guys telling you how to do it, and meanwhile, you already done it. I have a lot of admiration for you lads. You get shit done, and do it right, and great to see your success paying off. Keep up the great content, and all the best to you. Thanks.
Can't wait to get my shed built and hoist installed. You young fellas got it good! It's taken me 54 years of working on my back to finally get a hoist and my old bones can't wait! lol. Great vid as usual. Cheers, Andy.
You guys are incredible, you’ve encouraged me and so many others to learn so much about our own cars and build on basic skills. But… having practical dad there and the ability to build out from the family garage with an insane set of tools and knowledge takes it away for me. I feel petty saying it, you guys are brilliant - I’d do exactly what you are in the same situation
Great work looks excellent, you have probably fixed the hoist already but on the video the arms aren’t balanced, you can tell when you lift the vehicle one pin clunks before the other so when you lift the car you hear clunk clunk, the adjustment is on the cable and when you either lengthen or shorten the cable adjustment. When it’s schmick as you lift the car you will have a synchronised single clunk. You probably have done it already but on this video it stands out. Always lower the car onto the stops / pins
Blooming hell Lads, Your old man definitely did you proud on that one, would be good to get a bit of background on his trade and a bit of an intro, Good luck with the hoist, and congrats!
Epic job guys, love your can do attitude. This is going to make the work you do on your cars so much easier. Is this the beginning of 'built by Aussie Arvo's" :-)
Well done boys. I set bolts for a living. big ones. Like bridges or dams or huge buildings Getting the exact is critical. Nice work on the mud too. New sub
Well done boy's. You need it will easy to work on vehicles specifically 4wd , but you need to support the end like a long stand ,so when take off some weight from front and rear is heavy that what we do at our workshop. Take Care boy's, and to watch you videos.
I had the same issue with my Hilux LSD. Was advised by Toyota dealership that the the Toyota LSD’s need to have BOTH wheels rolling in order for it to engage. As opposed to the Nissan LSD which as you found out engages straight away. So for the Toyota, you need to have some forward movement for it to engage when one wheel loses traction. The simple test was to raise one wheel off the ground and place a block under the axle, then try to drive off. The Nissan will do this, but the Toyota won’t. I now have front & rear ARB lockers instead. Another great video and am very jealous of the ‘man shed’, well done guys. 😊👍🏼
Nice one! A pit coupled with a Portable Vehicle Hoist is a (distant) second best option at around 20% of the cost. I've got a hook eye installed in the roof of my 4x4 (supported by external frame to the rails) so I can use a sky hook wherever I need the vehicle lifted. I mean, what if you need to change the clutch somewhere between here and dingo piss creek? In all seriousness, a hoist is perhaps the most labour saving device one can get for a workshop. Also, take Home Brew's comment about Dad too - if he is interested ofcourse.
Oh you went all out with the brand spanking Molnar they are a really nice unit. I have a 2.5t screw hoist and it sucks it will only lift a 4x4 without an engine.
do you still have the paj, if so could you do like a rundown on the ownership of one regarding servicing running costs and what to look out for when getting one. it would also be awesome to see it up on the hoist!
Hey guys, great job. A ramp is worth its weight in gold. I recently installed one in my shed. Great job on the foundation . Just one thing to note, it sound like the left and right locks are engaging at different times when you raise the ramp. That is normally a sign that the cables need adjusting/fine tuning. Also pull the arms together in the middle of the two posts and make sure they are at the same height. Well done guys, from all the way at Stonehenge England
I have owned both so i can say pootrol should go on first since that be its home 😋 na really good fellas im sure the cruiser be on it just as much another good vid boys now watch how popular u become with ya mates😁
Grab some 3” or 4” extenders for the lift pads, will give you more height 👍🏼 Also keen to see a vid on that log splitter, are you doing mods to that? 😎
LOCKING PINS : I think best practice is not to have the hoist resting solely on hydraulic pressure. When the height is reached, it's best to release it down a fraction until it rests on the nearest locking pin
Sending 4bys up u wanna get the arms as far forwards and as far back as u can lifts them better and a lot more stable, and I could be wrong but from what I know from work when your sending the hoist up and u hear the clicks there ment to be same time if the clicks are too far apart the hoist arms are arnt all adjusted to the same height 👍
That clicking noise is the lock tab running up its rack when it's engaged, you get you the height you need & lower it onto the lock rather than leave the weight on the ram. my MOLNAR only has it on the operator side. To lower it, raise the hoist slightly, release the lock & pull the down lever. The new MOLNAR's look like they may be a little different with more electronic controls. MOLNAR was bought out by another mob a while ago & their range has changed a little bit.
It also means the carriages and arms are at different heights left to right. One side is hitting the safety lock before the other. Thus the cables need to be adjusted. To correct this.
@@markwilmot6575 I checked the MOLNAR website parts diagram & that SM245 hoist does have electronically controlled safety ratchets on both posts & yes you are correct about the carriage adjustment ideally needs to be the same for the safety latches to work. If the lifting cable failed they would still both catch & lock in.The lifting cable will stretch a little from new so carriage adjustment may have to take place several times over the next year, it's something that a hoist tech would check & set but they may service it themselves, not that hard if you know what to do & how to do it.
the concrete wasnt strong enough u thought but u had a concrete truck on it that weighed heaps more the the hoist could handle just sayin lol good video but
Your old man seems to know a fair bit across a number of different trades. Ever thought about doing a vid on him? I'd be interested to know a bit more.
DaddyArvo's
I'd watch that
second this
Dads the unsung hero behind all the lads mechanical videos… awesome to see them learning 1st hand and doing the work themselves
Yeah I’m keen on that video as well
Noticed a great deal of comments about your Dad. Can you guys please do an intro video with him too. He must be a busy man but alot of us want to know more about him too.

And I drive a concrete truck...10 wheeler agi, 32 tonne when fully loaded with 32 mPa.
Good job guys, I tell you what you’ve got a great Dad👍🏻
Cheers Pat
It looks like your Dad does this every day.
Concrete was so smooth. 😮

Definitely the ultimate shed mod.
For a bit more stability on the 80, lift it under the control arm brackets. That's where I lift my 105.
That idea to lift the slabs out is genius!
Wish my old man could of taught me stuff like that
great score lads..no stopping the mods and repairs now..i think i might keep in dads good books for a long time after this addition
So young, so good ! These boys are beli beli gud !
Great stuff fellas! Your old mans a great bloke! I always learn something when I work with him👍🏼 say g’day for me😉 loving your stuff fellas
You guys have a bloody awesome dad and very talented at that should definitely do a special on him maybe for father’s day
Awesome video guys! Thank you

That whole shed is perfect
Now the 80 can get some more mods going on!! Lift
as your dad would have said "thats not going anywhere" great job gents.. Well done dad

Great job guys! Gonna be fighting over the hoist now 🤣
awesome work guys
It's so good to see y'all coming along nicely, keep up the good work, and i'm keen to see where y'all end up.
I've got the exact same hoist, very happy with it hasn't skipped a beat

Now this is a game changer
Not an easy task. Well done boys 👍

You blokes better get your Dad an awesome Fathers Day Pressy this year. No socks and undies for him this year..
Casting the bolts in was a legendary idea !!
Hoist is mad but I couldn't help but notice the 8 or 9 point stag head in the background! That's hectic, gotta go down to vic for some stags for sure!
Nice, keep up the good work!
Nice work

This gets the nod of approval
You guys are so lucky looks like your old man is a real smart bloke 👏
Cool vid keep up the good content coming loving it
You boys will have your mates' cars lined up on the driveway now 😂
Lol on the LSD test, you're moving up now! Cheers to more upgrades🍻
I have a mix between envy and happiness for you guys 😍🚜
Love the way your dad thinks.
For work experience I worked at toyota as a mechanic and they let 15 year old me set up and use the hoist to lift cars/vans, was pretty cool.
Boys and their toy's
Keep up the good work
How cool is dad. Original slab looked primo.
Use the pad spacers on 4wds makes it alot easier to line them up.
Nice work boys! Your dad is a bloody legend. Where's the big fella?
I am glad that you are still producing great videos with good content in the current lock down.
If only my shed was high enough☹️. Lucky blokes
Great build guys. I would like to see the arms further apart than you have them. .Good luck.
Thats one thing I would love. Life would be so much easier. That Landcruiser will spend plenty of time on there.
Good lads love the Sunday vids
Hi, what size reo bar did you use to key it back in with m12 or m16 . Awesome job well done 💪💪👍👍.
Good work guys 👍
I'm so jealous, my sheds roof is too low for a hoist, got a pit in mine.
So much more fun than working on or under ground.
Oh you went all out with the brand spanking Molnar they are a really nice unit. I have a 2.5t screw hoist and it sucks it will only lift a 4x4 without an engine.

they are some great recycled pavers you made !

The boys are on
Awesome vid fellas! That hoist looks awesome👍
I want to know more about the red deer and sambar head above the door!
Potential 4x4 hunting trip?
Your Dad is very wise to do everything right 😊👍
Nice job on the slab.

Mate don’t lie ya gonna need a light nice sunny days are rare here
Thats expensive, but lit. Cheers boys

The hoist comes with them check 11:27 the silver things
on the left side of the screen*
True. Well spotted
Thanks daddy hahahaha
Sick video though
LOCKING PINS : I think best practice is not to have the hoist resting solely on hydraulic pressure. When the height is reached, it's best to release it down a fraction until it rests on the nearest locking pin
When i need to do more work to the chopped 80 its coming here hahaha
You lucky buggers!
Oh man so jealous of you guys right now.
@12:18 I think I just (ahem) peaked - noice.
need to adjust the locks they should click/clunk together indicating both arms are the same height.
should put a charge on the hoist, 1 slab for each time one of ya mate wants to use it
Why did you make your dad dig the foundation? Thats a kids job :)
4 post heaps better no crawling around on the floor .But $$$ decides the hoist.

What no Aussie Arvos tag on the concrete or sticker on the hoist.
What made you guys choose the Molnar ? Was it because its AUS made or is it safer the other brands ?
Both of those factors! (technically they aren't made in AUS anymore, but still good safety are reputation , spare parts are still made in AUS)
yo what's that backround song?
I love the video's
Sick as👌
Is there a reason you chose that brand of hoist?
Get a special eppsoide going for dad !!!! 🤟🤟🤟
Very jealous .... Great job fellas!
What did the Molnar cost guys?
the concrete wasnt strong enough u thought but u had a concrete truck on it that weighed heaps more the the hoist could handle just sayin lol good video but
Order a spare contactor. 👍
Great Video. How's the red 80 series going? Love to see more vids on that 😊
I need one
what was the price range for this hoist? maximum height of the actual hoist (how tall)?
Go to the STENHOJ or MOLNAR website, it has the specs there.
Invest in some extension feet especially for 4wds
I think I see some extensions on the bottom of the posts.
you can see the adaptors on the side of the hoist
Ahh no worries, interesting as to why they didn't use them
@@XxTheloveDUBSTEPxX probably didnt realise due to the excitement of a new hoist
