Forget about the DIY filter.
The tank looks awesome.
I just love hair grass in aquariums.
Adding those rocks made it so cool.
tks u so much!!!
Yeah, cause who gives a fuck about the health of the fish, or having to scrub it 24/7 for the sake of not doing some very basic additional work
Great video. I've been thinking about how I want to design a canister filter for my betta's tank, and in my head I was going to put the submersible pump inside the aquarium itself and have the canister inline with the output. I'm going to redesign that with the pump inside the canister instead, as you did. This way there's much less in the aquarium itself, and it looks cleaner.
Also, to those wondering about the power supply and voltage regulator (blue chip with the numbers), you could easily do this more simply with a 5v cellphone charger (no longer adjustable), or by using a pump with variable flow dial. They did this so they can adjust the flow rate manually by changing how much power the pump is given.
Thanks for your comment. This is the filter with small version from big filter of fish tank.Because I can't found the pump mini have the adjustment function . So, I have to use control voltage module.
Just get a sponge filter…
Wow!
Loved this, what a great hack
This was an awesome vid. There are many bones one could pick, and they are true: if this leaks, it'll siphon the tank... The silicon will crack over time, I could just buy another type of filter for cheaper, etc., But I don't think those, legitimate as they may be, were the point of the video. This diy project crosses my line of diminishing returns too, by far! I don't have the electrical items, the drill and bit, nor the knowledge OR TIME, just lying around to make this efficient for ME. Nor am I a diy fanatic. But for the masses of people who do, this sharing is a creative idea. The possibilities are limitless. Even an Applied Science teacher would love this! Regardless of purpose or choice, this was super interesting. Thank you.
PE plastic and hot glue..( not silicone..) remain flexible for decades if you keep it inside out of the sun
Additionally, most of the small/nano filters that can be commercially obtained/"PNP", do not provide the quality of filtration which can be manipulated in a DIY construction like this. In a DIY project like this, we can control the amount and type of physical media, carbon/charcoal as well as biological media as we see fit. Just the ceramic pieces he used, compared to any small Tetra, Eheim, Fluval, Aqueon (etc.) Internal or External HOB filter, will provide EXPONENTIALLY greater supporting beneficial bacteria colonies. Again, depends on your purpose, ...and if you have the resources...and necessity is the mother of ingenuity, right? And see, people are sharing links now and have offered insight beyond the education of this video. We might not have agreed with this DIY project nor been inspired to replicate it, but it has indeed triggered growth in our aquarium hobby and a dialogue. Not only is that a "win", but further evidence of a brilliant and influential video. Cheers! Now I'm gonna change water and maintain all my store bought filters haha. And maybe one day look back to this vid for inspiration. "Over and Out."
This is a good idea if you want to taylor a filter to suit your particular needs. As for those internal filters others are talking about. The ones I had were always breaking down.
If you happen to have everything on hand, this is pretty cool. If you have to buy everything, there are less expensive small cannister filters currently on the market.
Yes, I totally agree with you, But, My place is only a small town. I cant buy the little filter for my fishtank. For that reason, I have to reuse everything I can find near where I live, Sometimes DYIng something will be more expensive than what we can buy. but it really is not crucial because DIY is also my interest.
Отличная работа!
good idea! i would just tell to use propper silicon, not hot glue, it will get all white and brittle soon and leak!
Been building DIY aquarium safe filters and accessories for 38 years now. Hot Glue doesn't get brittle and if done correctly doesn't leak either. Give this guy his chops, he just built a mini canister which you can't buy in this size for less than an Azoo turtle canister. and it has adjustable speed on the motor. So show me a canister filter with a brushless DC pump motor with variable speed?
@Runer Warlock is this hot glue toxic for fishes?
These are great and plus very informative!! Keep going mate!
I'm extremely impressed by your creativity 👏. I have a pico tank reef tank and i want the smallest filter possible. I can buy one but I would love a custom one!.
Absolutely brilliant kiddo!
우와 아이디어 좋네여 외부여과기가 뚝딱ㅋ
Congratulations, very good work.
Very good, nice little project.
Wow great idea nice thanks for sharing
うまく穴をあけてますねえ。ホットボンドはお風呂で使いましたが、時間が経つとはがれてきました。
Technically beyond my skill level but great DIY!!
Ahívá la ostia Patxi que gran invento joder ya tengo filtros caseros y prácticamente a coste cero 🤣🤣🤣🤣😘😘😘😘
Beautiful and well done invention.
Świetny pomysł 👍👏
Good job on using endlers and not goldfish, many videos use goldfish or bettas in small tanks like these which I think is cruel but I think your choice of fish is AMAZING, good on you for that 👍🏾😁
Thank you so much!!!
自作オーバーフローですね。
面白い。
Thats brilliant, thankyou
Great DIY 👍👍!
Super good!!!👍👍👍
Сделано хорошо, главное идея ясна) а по желанию можно уже мудрить и красивей и практичней сделать кому надо))
Awesome, great idea , nice creation bro.
No
Brilliant idea
its so great video new subscribed stay safe have a great day
Would have used aquarium silicone or a GE #1 brand since that's safer fish!
Tks for your suggestions, when I finished it, I soaked it in water for a while, then added it to my aquarium. because I always want my fishes to be healthy
Yeah that hot glue may not hold up in the long run. If it lets loose you will have leaks.
I don't care about companies, I care about experience. I used Red Devil brand 100% silicone (just make sure it doesn't have mold and mildew inhibitors) to seal all of my tanks, and they're doing fine for a couple of years now and not killing anything to the best of my experience. Just because someone recommends something over the internet/youtube because they had good experience with it doesn't mean it's the only product that will work.
@@WhatIsMisophonia I have been doing this for like 12 or 13 years now I know what I am talking about when it comes to holding up in the long run I have and had tanks from when I was 13 or 14 years old that will still hold water to this day ahah maybe I am some stranger on RUclips giving advice but it's his opinion to take it or leave it^ I had many more experienced people teach me a trick or two its does no hurt to know...
@@JasonFolk07 Ooook... My point is, unless you've tired anything else beyond what was recommended, your experience is still limited. I've heard from people who have used other brands for many years and it worked fine for them. I'm not saying your experience is invalid; I'm asking you not to invalidate the experience of others.
Very creative 😊
Хорошая идея! Спасибо)
I pity the poor souls that will never know the joy of building something by themselves.
There's not that many people who know how to do electrical like this. Or that have the necessary tools with which to do so. I couldn't survive without my drill or glue gun nowadays though. 😁
But yes, I agree with you. The sense of accomplishment is like a drug but ten times better.
lol im just here bc it was in the up next thing lmao
love this little tank.thanks fore share
Very interesting video 👍.
They always inspire me some creative way to do things.
I dont know if that hot glue is safe for fish. But it it works it works.
Inspire = I just watch others do it xD
And get electrocuted at the same time! WOW so fun!!!!
Great design
Have a great day cool RUclipsr
terima kasih sudah berbagi ilmu.. saya dari indonesia. salam kenal
Nice👍👌
Главное что эта штука работает и поток можно регулировать) пускай и отвёрткой)))
I love this idea but not sure its economically viable I think a larger version may reap more reward I love the engineering well done
Thank for your comment
Awesome skills my friend 👍

Kreatif bangettt 👍👍👍❤️👃
That's really cool, I really like it. 😎👍
Keep up the good work. 👍
Like that idea thanks 🇦🇺👍
Building your own filter is cool and all that, but the hot glue will dissolve over time.
Definitely use aquarium safe silicone
No, it does not, I have well over 35 years working with hotglue and PE type plastics
I will make this for my mini marine tank nice idea bro !! 😊
Beautyscape ..!
I appreciate the DIY vid, thank you!!
Thanks you!
자작 여과기는 만들기 어렵던데 보고 따라하면 쉽게 만들겠네요 ㅋ
I prefer this type of external filter, it takes up less space inside the tank and doesn't make the tank's internal environment look ugly with a monstrous hideous black box.
Great idea and done well. I have a small AC pump that size, dont think i need to set the speed, should work?
Thanks
My pump has used 3-9 Voltage DC /3w.
I really do not want to use AC power to run pump.
I mean it very dangerous when the electricity is leaking.
başarılı tebrikler :)
Add in a PWM and BOOM! DIY controllable DC filter!
the voltage control on the bucking switch DC to DC voltage reducer is already making this "controllable". Yay! new technology!
Thank you for sharing this video 🙂👍
Spektakuler 👍👍👍♥️
Nice job
Very good.
Thanks you!
Nice, good job
Amazing 😉👍🙋🍃
Awesome job but very complicated work for a simple homemande aquariun system. Thank you for sending
the vídeo.
Mantap hasil karyanya
I'm watching this from South Africa in KwaZulu-Natal
Good idea 👍
That so cool
The flow must be reduced....the fish fry r finding it hard to swim.....nice effort
Маладэц - Зёма ! Лайк за старания !
Tks U!!!

Nice 👍
👍 Salute 🙋♂️
With the time and money spent on parts you should just get a normal hang-on-back filter and then buy bio-media
It's not necessarily the money it's just the joy to build your own nano filter you know. Also he may had biomedia from an existing filter and an old unused water-pump. BUMM; no cost filter, there u have it
H.o.b. are ugly and noisy
Why go to that trouble when u could buy a mini internal filter? Whats the point?
@@stevehove2648 it's about being creative. Simpleton.
That filter, if it leaks, will siphon out the tank.
Nice Job
i like So much 😍😍😍
Pretty ingenious
i just notice the band aid on your finger😂✌🏻
Nice
Super nice
Awesome
cantik banget ya..🐠🐠
Привет 👋, сделал супер 👍, молодец.
а что за сетка показана на видео #2:53
#6:07 надо делать такую штуку?
Sangat inspiratif,, thx u boss ku
Great video my friend!.Thanks !!
#FishingBDGo
That's complicated. I will just buy a mini filter lol
Same feel
There's another method of that and its easy.
Amazing
Good mr
Very very very nice video sir
Thank you so much!
❤❤❤ So good
Hi.. Very interesting idea.. Could you please give the names of the components used and their sizes and measurements?.. Would like to make such a canister filter.. Thanks in advance..👍👍👍
amazing
Like this
Thanks for this tutorial I can adjust the size and connect my 3 gallon bettas tanks to it I have aguaescape bettas tanks if it works I don’t need to be buying the sponge filters from Amazon they take to much space what is the white plumbing your using ?
Thanks for the video
not a main thing but you must be Vietnamese or at least having a Viet friend hahaha. btw, nice build!
Nice video. New subscriber
Nice and neatly DIY done for this beautiful aquarium. Can you please make this one for me please on order basis. 😬😅😂
I'm sorry, I only did it when I have free time.
@@diyformyhome2265 Its okay bro, i was just kidding!! 💐
Nice thks
good work bro
Thank you a lot!!! Good a nice day!
Lol, that is a lot of work, i'll just buy cheap filter from Lazada or Shoppee..thanks for the tip.
