- This is my commentated walkthrough to acquire all Alone In The Dark Trophies & Achievements in 3 except for the 8 hours playtime which you can idle for.

Thank you yet again for another brilliant walkthrough.
Also, just confirming that on the latest version of the game (patch 1.05), everything done in the video works the same. I encountered no glitches or issues. The literal only difference is the talisman location at the end of chapter 1 (9:40 in video), rather than being on the table as in the video, its on the book shelf found in the centre of the far back wall.
So is it possible to platinum with the latest version?

Man after reading all the horror stories about how buggy this game was and how the trophies were being broken in different ways with each new patch I was sweating bullets.
I am glad to say that at least on the latest patch 1.000.008 I was able to get all trophies using your guide. No crashes, I had an weird PS3-style autosave error pop up once right after using the two medallions to open the door in Ch. 2, and got stuck while shimmying to get the lagniappe at the end of Ch 2, (but I was able to back out and made it through the second time) but other than that no major bugs across the 3 playthroughs I did for the plat.

Hey i follow this first thx so much for sharing this i got all achievement except for the 8 hours playing i had one problem with the big tree to gave gim the present i have to reload couple of times to get the objective showing up behind the tree to press A(X) but it was working thx again and i appreciate it to spend time to make this happend see u on the next guide my next to follow is Alan wake 2 i had no time i had to work alot even i buy it on day one release so keep going for me you have the best guides

First of all, thank you for making this perfect guide! I’ve had some problems with the trophy teetotaller, I played it twice with Edward and Emily and never Healt but the trophy didnt pop. So what I did was, never load a file, just try to get trough the game without ever dying and kill all enemies in your way, use the short ending with Emily where you don’t have to fight the last boss so your hp should be fine throughout the game! And now I’m deleting this ***** of a game 😂
Update on the game:
It was just announced that the studio responsible for remaking (Alone in the Dark) has shutdown.....
I'm pretty sure the game won't get anymore support from now on. So let's hope it's in a good enough state for people to get the platinum in the future.
Its sad to hear, but also im not surprised as the vision for this game was way off the mark. To me it feels like PS1 gameplay, just with updated graphics. Maybe thats what they went for, if so that was the mistake. It should have been modernised more
@Optinooby I know exactly what you mean. The gameplay was way off. Also, I wish they would have stuck more with the original game. Where you stay in the house for 80% of the game and then the remaining 20% was in the dungeon under the house. That would have been a lot better, in my opinion.
I'm just getting upset with these studios/companies releasing garbage when they really don't have to. Politics have infested the gaming industry, and it's destroying it from the inside out. These studios just need to make good games with great ideas, and the rest will fall into place. Hopefully, the gaming industry will turn around before it crashes, but that's highly unlikely with the way it's going.
Heh, I've just bought the game yesterday, only to find out that you've already done a speedrun video =) Didn't watch it yet, but I appreciate your choice of games, I am definitely enjoying this one. Will get back as soon as I beat the game with both chars =)

I'm going for the platinum now, and my God this game made me feel like I was losing my mind. It was so buggy that it kept repeating objectives and dialogue throughout my first playthrough. I literally didn't know if the game was intentionally messing with me or if it was just bugged out. I've never had an experience where a game made me think I was losing my mind. I live streamed it all, so it's actually recorded history now.
RIP to the plat since “Nobody Knows What Happened” will not pop after latest patch

I tried down patching to V.1.00 but the game keeps crashing everytime I try to make that trophy pop.🤬

It depends what series or video your following, i have about 4 different platinum approaches for it. Best to ask on the vid so i know which you're talking about
I'm not getting a prompt in the walk-in closet at 1:30:02 to use the paint thinner on the portrait. In fact, there is no portrait there at all. I have the correct lagniapp set (I've been following your guide). It's possible this is also glitched as of the latest patch.

@@Optinooby The ending didn't trigger so I'm assuming it's also glitched. I played the game on the most recent patch. I also didn't get "Nobody knows what happened" even though I have the lagniapp set (again, been following your guide).
At 2:51:07 there was no prompt to give an offering to the whispering tree, meaning "One of a thousand young" trophy is also glitched (I have the full lagniappes set since I've been following you). Seems like all trophies that require you to have completed a lagniappes set as part of requirements are glitched in the most recent patch.

Beaten the game trice this weekend, 2 times for Edward, one time for Emily, second time for Edward aimed at getting alternative ending, mopping up chatterbox and getting Teetotaller, and teetotaller didn't show up, neither after joining the cult, not after beating the last boss, what a bummer. I hope they'll fix the issues soon.
Supposedly fixed, maybe worth deleting system save and then starting again

I don't know if it fix it. But, if you accidentally use your flask and take health, you immediately lose the trophy. Because, even if you load previous save, the game already know you use it. So. You need to start the game from the beginning. Unless, if it not a thing anymore.

@@Optinooby Should be. But yes. Believe me or not. I try so may play throughs speed run basically and i use both methods. Auto save and Manual save and was not working. At the end, i was always in full HP so even if you accidentally press the UP dpad you can't use it. And finally i got it with the girl. 🤦

Opti I interacted with the noose and the achievement didn't pop any clues to why not also when I'm don't with the talisman in the attic my seen just goes black stays that way ffs
It sounds like a bug mate, perhaps try doing it later as the other character. If it still dont trigger then, sounds like you may need to delete save and install game again ;(

Nearly done this game already but any advice on the teetotaller achievement. Done the game 3 seperate times without using the flask and only reloading manual saves if i take damage and its still yet to pop, only one i need
Is the game updated? If having serious problems, I would delete your whole save and then do it without ever healing
@@Optinooby yeah operating on most recent version. I dont that yesterday, and deleted all saves and done it with emily and still no luck. Becoming annoying as im done with the game as soon as it pops and can get back to the tomb raider grind ha

@@Optinooby finally got it, deleted all saves and lagniappes for the 2nd time and done an emily run and just got it 😎. Games done now thankfully, was a decent game though tbh, pretty fun
Alone in the dark just said on X, they released an update with ng+ and fixed the bugged trophy.

Bruh most of these enemies are showing up in my game and I can't shimmy through that crack in chapter 2 after the celler puzzle then I reloading cause I created a manual and now there's nothing I can do and I can't even get back to the cemetery
They seem to patch the game to fix 2 bugs and create 4 new bugs in the process
if you die and reload your save does it count against you getting the teetaller trophy
It should be ok as long as you dont heal, I had died and taken damage, just never healed

The trophy for not drinking out of a flask didn’t pop for me and I’m positive I didn’t drink out of it.
The game is a bit buggy mate, i think if you have ever drank from a flask, it can completely prevent it from every popping. You would need to delete save in the options i thinm
@@Optinoobynow the telescope in chapter 2 won’t focus. At all. I’ve reloaded saved and autosaves and nothing. This game is quite broken. Don’t know if I wanna even continue.

@@Optinooby no it’s not a new game but it’s souls like i just platinum it today but im prrety sure you’re gonna be so good and it’ll be easy for you all quests you can do in 1 hour and 15 minutes / and clean up take you like 30 minutes so you just need 1 trophy now you have to play second run beat the boss hard difficulty it called children of sissna : sorry if my english is not good enough

Trophy for interacting with the noose not popping for me. Tried it on both characters runs. I’m watching the cutscene but the trophy doesn’t pop after. Going to delete my save, reinstall the game offline and replay offline on original patch. Will report back in case others are having this issue
Hopefully that will fix it, somebody else has had it not happen. Did you try skipping the cutscene?
@@Optinooby Tried skipping it and watching it with both characters, made a save right before to test things. I think the latest patch is causing issues with this trophy. That’s what I’m hoping anyway 🤞
@@Optinooby Playing unpatched, got all the way to the attic and the game crashes whenever you try to watch or skip cutscene everytime. I hate this game!

Thing is this dev team has just let some staff go i think, so patches may become slow to release. I feel like this game has way underperformed, and its not easy to see why

Just played through this on Xbox great game some of the cheevos are glitchy keep lots of saves especially at the start of chapter 2 and 4
1:20:50 when I complete the puzzle my screen goes black anybody the same problem
apparently new patch added a few bugs
If you interacted with the rope it does if you don't interact with the rope it worked ok for me
I can't interact with the tree and I've gotten all the laginaps

I got all the trophies except the alternate ending and 8hrs or more trophy so I may have to replay the whole game again to get those 2 I don't have to worry about speedrunning it so that's good

I guess there is the unfortunate side effect of doing a guide for a game too early. The platinum is no longer attainable since the latest patch and there's been no communication from the devs 😮💨
I actually hadnt done this too early, it was a few weeks after release and there was a few glitches that had been patched by then. Didnt think they would add new glitches afterwards xD
