What do you mean by not what you want ? if you have the 2nd pick, you can pick any player in the draft but the one already picked in number 1, that's all.
Tre Jones did do pretty well, I’ll give him that credit. However, he or himself with his brother, are nowhere near good enough to be the answer for year two of Wemby. We MUST address the PG spot early in the draft and find a guy who is a facilitator, a field general, somebody that creates plays/space without even having the ball in his hands. Wemby gets soooo much attention from defenses that we need somebody ASAP that can make his life that much easier. I know not all answers can be given in just this one off season, but the first piece that has to be tackled is getting a PG with high potential.
The trade package for any trade scenario should be around Vassel, Tre and Devonte. Not only for salary reasons, because in my opinion they are our best replaceable assets with the best value. If necessary Wesley, Bassey and Cissoko aswell but i think that other teams dont see that much value in them.
Personally, i would throw Keldon, Maliki, and 2 1st-round picks for markkitin. Only if he signs an extension. Then i would trade picks for a good pg like Garland.
The team needs perimeter scoring at the guard position. Instead of trading future assets for Garland, we could draft the kid out of Kentucky with the same skill set and have him on a rookie contract.
Keep every young player we have. Let go of the older guys like Cedi, keep developing our young guys and add another in the draft. That's the Spurs way. No big trades, no big moves, no spending a ton of assets to skip steps. We build like the Spurs do
I disagree 💯. This team was only good enough to get us the 3rd worst record in the league. We need more talent or at least players that complement Wemby better.
We need perimeter scoring, an off ball perimeter threat, and a guy that can create his own offence. Cj McCollum is a free agent this summer and he’d be perfect for our offence!
I think you're being way too optimistic about the current roster. If two players other than Victor from that top 7 list are on next year's roster I would be shocked. They will probably be sent off as part of trade packages I'm not sure if they keep Devin or Jeremy but other than those two the rest are all going to be gone. As a low-key move I would like to see them bring in Washington's tyus Jones. The guy rarely ever turns the ball over and it's just a very solid point guard. You don't get scoring out of him but you get great point guard play. I think he's perfect for a year too improvement from one Jones to a better Jones.
Best case scenario for me this offseason is if we're able to draft ALEX SARR and DALTON KNECHT in the first round (like a 1st pick and 7th pick, respectively) then somehow gets to draft ZACH EDEY and RYAN DUNN both in the 2nd round...then subsequently able to trade for either LAMELO BALL or TRAE YOUNG in the free agency!! Damn! The starting lineup would be WEMBY, SARR, SOCHAN, VASSELL and LAMELO/TRAE then 2nd unit would be EDEY, COLLINS, DUNN, KNECHT and JONES. Then finally, WEMBY gets the gold in the Olympics!! =)
Jalen Brown got 300 million dollar contract, hearing Doncic getting 400 million, So Spurs would be wise to factor in a projected Wemby contract maybe 500 million??
Dude gets cooked on defense every time. "Effort" isn't good enough. And you really want to start someone who couldn't put a ball in the basket if he were 5 inches away from it? That's just a recipe for a spacing disaster. Forget Wemby getting double-teamed this season, dude is about to get tripple teamed next season if youre running a Wesley and Sochan lineup at the same time.
San Antonio has a win-now mentality with Victor on the team and they're not going to keep a bunch of guys that would be backups on any other NBA team. You seem to really like all of these starters and I think you're pretty much alone in that. Yeah they're the home team and we root for them but this bunch of players kept Victor down and did not help him prosper. Very few of these guys if any will be on the team next year and certainly may be none of them by the year after that. It's almost a waste of time to review their numbers. We had bad guard play bad forward play and incredible center play. You talk about this team as if they were a 55 game-winning team when this group of guys couldn't play with one of the best young players in league history and get any more victories than they did.
Dillingham/Sheppard and Buzelis/Castle. Topic and Buzelis provides no spacing at all because both can't shoot. Ideally, you'd want to add an offensive threat, and a defensive threat since there are no 2 way players in this draft.
@@Nomad7222 D & S can shoot but too undersized ; Castle and Buzelis can defend as well as full-sized but can't shoot. Topic can makeplay but can't shoot. Which priorities should we pick? So dilemma!!

Cannot agree more. Trade everything and future for Trae Young is stupid. He is not the guy that will bring you championship immediately. Spurs still needs their draft asset for rebuild.
I don’t think most of these players should be part of the Spurs long term plans. They were only good enough to get us the 3rd worst record in the league.
You missed the part about contracts. Regardless of the level they need to rise to complement Victor, it's not easy to just cut everyone nor is it even wise as this is everyone's first season with Wemby. Consider his oft-injured history, that's not a bad signal.
We all know pop's also a health management master.
If he joins us next season,
he'll be monitored anytime for sure.
Trade for him with our own future 1st round pick maybe a risky investment,
so I put a proviso with lottery protected for two years.
In this case, we have to show Magic with the utmost sincerity,
same with Isaac.
Every team knows Magic's a ticking time bomb.
They have too many bigmen,
and too many rookies to extend contracts in few years.
Including Banchero's Max.
We can help them with two picks for future talents, and Malaki for backup SG with shoot.
Besides utmost sincerity for the trade,
we also have to think about SA is a small market.
No free agent cames proactively except LMA.
If we want Isaac to stay with us for a long time,
we have to show him more.
We have pop, we have Wemby.
Most importantly,
We have patience and know how to be a champion.
@@jameskou4034 i wouldn’t mind jonathan like you said he would help out so much on the defensive side but if SA can get him without trading anything expensive then it’s a W
Markkanen would be amazing with wemby, sort of like a giannis Gobert defense at its worst, something revolutionary at its best because they both have really high IQ. I dont agree about Isaac though. I like a lot of the magic players but I would way rather take a chance on a draft pick than paying a bunch to get Isaac, thats a bad trade for me and we might as well go all in for a markkanen situation.

That's for sure!!!👍
Nic Claxton will be a great free agent pick up or if Anunoby doesn't resign with the Knicks.
Neither of them is a Spurs player, and both are not on our timeline
@@blablablaa14 nic Claxton is only 24 yrs old, and anunoby is 26 yrs. old.
@@cinco4739 Yeah and our star is 20. We need to surround him with people under 25 and that have a good attitude. And OG is resigning for the Knicks so he's not a real option. Claxton has many attitude issues he wont fit (though I like him as a player)
@@blablablaa14 Yeah I know most likely OG will resign with the knicks that's why I said if he doesn't.. Claxton on the other hand, I can't find any articles that says he has any attitude problems, maybe he does but I see nothing major and I think the Spurs can handle him.. What I like about these two is their defensive prowess which the spurs lacks, they aren't ball dominant and they are still relatively young.. Would also like the spurs to try Mamu as pg. he is a decent ball handler a lot better than sochan. And he plays well with Wemby.
@@cinco4739 Yes but Clax would cost what Jacob Poeltl would have cost and we didn't keep Jacob. I would much rather if we go defensive get Johnathan Issac who would be a monster next to Wemby
Good video!
Batum announced in the french sport magazine that he retires at the end of the olympics ;)
question : if you are for ex 2nd team pick, and the 2nd draft he is not what you want can you take 3, 4 or other ? or do you have to take 2 ?
What do you mean by not what you want ? if you have the 2nd pick, you can pick any player in the draft but the one already picked in number 1, that's all.
@@paulmallet3104 thanks. I meant of course any position that hasn't been already picked.

Thank You!!!
I think a good pickup would be fultz, he would be really cheap this off-season. That’s if spurs pick a forward in the draft.
Thanks for the perspective! I appreciate your input!
The trade package for any trade scenario should be around Vassel, Tre and Devonte. Not only for salary reasons, because in my opinion they are our best replaceable assets with the best value. If necessary Wesley, Bassey and Cissoko aswell but i think that other teams dont see that much value in them.
Glad you're not GM
Thanks for the perspective! I appreciate your input!
Yeah nobody taking that garbage cmon let's be real
We need pg as the # priority
Keep every young player we have. Let go of the older guys like Cedi, keep developing our young guys and add another in the draft. That's the Spurs way. No big trades, no big moves, no spending a ton of assets to skip steps. We build like the Spurs do
💯
I disagree 💯. This team was only good enough to get us the 3rd worst record in the league. We need more talent or at least players that complement Wemby better.
Lauri Markkanen, Josh Giddy, Jonathan Issac should be our top 3 targets to trade for
Giddy ? you're serious ? he is a great passer no doubt but the rest sucks...
@@lecoolpotager6670 the guy will give you an easy 16-6-7. He’s the exact player that would compliment wemby. An will actually PASS him the ball.
@@enriquehughes171 defensively however it's a catastrophy....
Gosh!😮I’m thinking the exact same thing on these 3 players. What a coincidence man like how on earth this happens 😂
We need perimeter scoring, an off ball perimeter threat, and a guy that can create his own offence. Cj McCollum is a free agent this summer and he’d be perfect for our offence!
Champagnie is under contract for 4 years @ 3 million a year. Hes basically free. We wont unload him
WE WILL HAVE A GOOD IDEA MAY 12TH.
what do u guys think about pairing wemby with sarr
that will push sochan to SF probabbly not. but it can be done.
@@alfonstabz9741 oh i forgot about sochan. didnt think carefully
@@jonathanchan1365 your plan can actually be done. but with challenges it's possible if they get no. 1 pick again
Thanks for the perspective! I appreciate your input!
how about packaging the upcoming draft picks in a trade?
SPURS BUILD DYNASIES THE PAST 10 YEARS WITH DRAFT PICKS SPURS ARE FUCKING EXPERTS AT BUILDING DYNATIES.
who is a popovic type player
Branham has some of the worst turnovers late in games. I feel he makes stupid mistakes and sometimes forces his shot.
lamelo and trae aren't popovic type player they are too turnover prone
If you don't consistently pass the ball to wemby not knowing he's the best player on the team you need to go...
If you still think that Wemby doesn't get the ball when his usage is top 10 in the league, you either haven't been watching or aren't a Spurs fan

Batum/Anderson? Youre bugging!
Thanks for the perspective! I appreciate your input!
Jalen Brown got 300 million dollar contract, hearing Doncic getting 400 million, So Spurs would be wise to factor in a projected Wemby contract maybe 500 million??
This team has good potential. Their just too small. They don't have legit forwards. This team is mostly made up of guards
The spurs don't need a PG the spurs need either a SF or PF or C
I would like Blake Wesley to be the staring PG next season he is a bulldog on defense
Nick Batum is retiring at the end of the season
I think kj needs to get moved
get rid of blake wesley 17 per cent from 3,s --unaacceptable-- he is not a foundation player
Keldon needs to go
San Antonio has a win-now mentality with Victor on the team and they're not going to keep a bunch of guys that would be backups on any other NBA team.

1st Dammit
Player evaluation of the Spurs, Wemby and the trashcans😂😂😂
Get deni avdija
None of these players not named Wemby can play defense worth a damm,
Topic and Buzelis would be am ideal draft.
So dilemma!!

charles bassey is gone. mamu is better complement than him.
You lost me with your trade targets. Absolute trash, all those players. NO way, as in NO WAY, we want any of those players. Trae Young will take out half of our first round picks for the next 4 yrs. NO WAY. He will be a FA in 25/26, with an early termination clause. Get him then. Otherwise he could leave for LA or NY after his contract is up if you get him now. Topic will be available for the Spurs this year. Other teams are not into him, like the Spurs. As long as we are in the top 6 we should be fine.
Why do Spurs fans want to keep these bums? You think Wemby will want to stay if we take this bottom 5 team for the "long haul"?
You missed the part about contracts. Regardless of the level they need to rise to complement Victor, it's not easy to just cut everyone nor is it even wise as this is everyone's first season with Wemby.
Even All Stars often have a tough time adapting to new teams in their first season there.
This should all be obvious...
