I saw these guys in concert, July 4th, 1979 in Pecatonica, IL, when I was in the Navy. Wow, what a show, and SO hot that day. A concert I'll never forget. Glad to see the younger folks appreciating our music so much.

He used to turn up to band practice straight from school. Angus and Mal's older brother, George was a founding member of another great Aussie band, The Easybeats. This is awesome, but if you watch them do this "Live at River Plate" it will blow you away. The crowd is HUGE and they're all going crazy. It's super hype! Check it out or check out ANY live video from the "River Plate" show. It's quite amazing!

The noise level at the River Plate concert was so strong it actually damaged the facade on the neighboring buildings. That’s why there is now an ordinance prohibiting concerts at that stadium anymore. Over a three night concert series they had almost 200,000 people come out to enjoy the music.

Here's what you need to know brother. When this came out AC/DC had been in the game for 15 years. Music industry critics had basically written them off. Their style of music was DEAD, they hadn't changed at all during the life of the band, music was changing ... they were done. This song was a big F-U to all the critics. Look at the lyrics "yeah, it's alright, yeah, we're doing fine" etc. Song was a MASSIVE hit, right in the middle of grunge, hip-hop, all of it. They decided fuck it, we're not changing for anything. The rest is history.
I mean, the next thing to check out is BACK IN BLACK ... without question. Do it, Do it now and report back :)
Great reaction, enjoy your take on the state of music. you are correct. We were spoiled and didn't even know it.

I grew up in the 80's, so bands like AC/DC, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Guns 'n Roses, Iron Maiden, & Poison, among others, were bands I listened to, and had posters of them all over my bedroom walls.
I was never into all that pop music, instead loved rock music. Still do..
During the 90's, I discovered bands like Nirvana, Metallica, Green Day and Marilyn Manson. Still love these bands today. Oh, also love Linkin Park.
But although I have always loved these bands, I also grew up, from a very young age, listening to the likes of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, and of course, apparently, from what my mom has told me, from the age of two, I was a huge Elvis Presley fan, apparently standing in front of the hifi stereo system and asking for Elvis to be played. I was exactly 17 months old when Elvis passed away, but as far back as I can remember, I have loved Elvis Presley.
You talk about lyrics quite often during your reactions, and I love that, because I think lyrics are so important in music.
The first time I realized how important lyrics were, was when I was around 12 years old. I remember coming home from school and both my parents were at work and my brother was at rugby practice, so I was home alone.
I grabbed an Elvis record (yes, there were no CD's in 1988), put that beautiful vinyl onto the turn table and sat cross-legged in front of the stereo system. I was holding his record in my hands and listening to his beautiful voice, and the song Are You Lonesome Tonight started playing, and although I had heard that song hundreds of times, it was the first time I actually really listened to the lyrics, and the next thing I knew, I had tears streaming down my face. Since then, I have taken note of lyrics, and I feel that lyrics which come from a place of pain and suffering seem to have the most impact on me.
I have never cried listening to any other performers music, more than I have listening to Elvis Presley sing. A combination of the lyrics and his beautiful voice get me every time.
Thanks for the great reaction. ❤
Oh, my favorite AC/DC album is Razors Edge. Every song from start to finish is 🔥

Welcome to AC/DC, the greatest pure rock and roll band of all time. They are truly legendary, and are the epitome of rock gods.
As far as song recommendations... Every single AC/DC song is worth listening to, but my personal favorites are- Shoot To Thrill, High Voltage, The Jack, Hell's Bells, Rock and Roll Train (ah hell, honestly, I love every single song)
I'd also recommend every single live song from BOTH their Donington and their River Plate concert videos. They're younger and probably musically sharper, if I'm being honest, in the Donington videos, but the audience is off the hook insane in the River Plate videos and it does raise AC/DC's game. Plus it's amazing to watch 50 and 60 year olds dominate a stage like they're in their 30's like they do at River Plate. You need to check both out.

I'm a an early GenXer, and I grew up in the 70s, and I KNOW how lucky I am to have been alive during this period. The 80s also produced a ton of great music, but it's been a slow decline since into the cesspool we now have. All you have to do is scan the top 100 lists from that era and search YT and you will have content until you have grey hair.

My favorite ACDC song, "It's A Long Way To The Top" is from the Bon Scott days, the bands second lead who was singer when they went big in 75 and 76. Brian johnson, the current singer for the band doesn't perform this song out of respect for Bon Scott who died too soon.

I can make a lot of suggestions if you would like cuz I grew up listening to you know all that music but my favorite genres are Rock, rap, dance or club and bass for when you're booming down the road at over 100 decibels so just let me know if you like to hear any of my favorites. They're a bunch more songs out there that were very popular that I didn't care for. All the songs I would recommend would be ones that I really liked growing up. Have a good day!

From what I heard from several different genres, I can't tell you how many songs each more than 20 each genre. I find that music nowadays in my opinion to be a weak whiny watered down version of what it used to be. I don't believe that it has any heart or soul anymore like the late '60s '70s and the '80s and the '90s and a few songs here and there throughout 2000 till 2010

You need to do some System of a Down (if you think you're ready for it); Toxicity is a good one to start with.

Thunderstruck is not even one of the better songs. Esp. the older ones are SO much better.
But with Brian, you need to listen to the whole "Back-in-Black"-album... or Razor Edge...
