It’s not corny. I listen to Christian rap every day. But y’all in the comments are hypocrites. Y’all will sit there and listen to mumble rap and people talking about killing each other and selling drugs all day long. Y’all sound very hypocritical 🤡🤦🏽♂️

@@damianmorris6700 I honestly just don't like the message. I don't really like the idea of Christianity to begin with, so hearing a rap based on Christian values makes me cringe. To each their own obviously. I grew up Mormon (of course there is quite the debate on whether or not they are true Christians) but did a lot of research on various sects of Christianity on my path to becoming agnostic. I do believe there is something greater than us, but the way Christianity defines or describes God I feel is spitting in the face of what a god is actually capable of. The concept of God and creation is way too complicated for us to understand, and the way Christianity defines it I feel is rather disrespectful in a way. So hearing "god loves you" and "Jesus will save you" in the form of rap just doesn't do it for me. No amount of good lyricism or beats will hide the fact that the song is a promotion for Christianity.
Christian rap is bad in general because it focuses on being Christian rather focusing on the music itself. Kanye for example, is the only rapper so far that has managed to make it interesting. Simply because he focused on music first. The problem with hip hop is that people forget that having introspective lyrics doesn’t mean that you can automatically rap.
I would rather listen to something that glorifies God than listening to something that glorifies sin.
