- The Midway American Patriot Award honors extraordinary individuals who exemplify the finest of American ideals, recognizing individual acts as well as cumulative lifetime achievement.
The USS Midway Museum was honored to present the 2015 Midway American Patriot Award to Naval Aviator Vietnam Prisoners of War. The award was accepted by 4 Midway Volunteers and Prisoners of War (POWs) during Vietnam: Wilfred K. Abbott, COL, USAF (Ret.), John C. "Jack" Ensch, CAPT, USN (Ret.), C. Everett Southwick, CAPT, USN (Ret.), William R. Stark, CAPT, USN (Ret.)
We are incredibly thankful for their service, the hours they dedicate onboard the USS Midway today, and their courage to tell their stories to all of us. Thank you, gentleman!

I took a guided tour in San Diego and it was a former sailor on the USS Midway. It was an incredible experience and highly recommended. Thanks former servicemen and woman that continue to serve at the museum.
