It's like if you buy a pure white dress for your wedding... you decide you wanted some color, so you spill fruit punch on it. Although the whole point is the wedding itself,commitment, and vows, something about the dress...the church....the ring...the Bible is still worthy of being treated with respect in the context of the event (or Wisdom within its pages). A wedding dress is just a wedding dress,sure, but most people would still take care of it and keep it for years (as well as the ring) because of what it represents.

I've been reading a study bible and every time these so-called bible scholars are quoted, I‘m met with words and phrases like- "They doubt.", "uncertain", "skeptical", "unsure". 😂 they seem to believe with their heads and not their heart. I was shocked at their lack of faith and unbelief.
That is characteristic of study bibles since the 1960s and their descendants, when Catholic scholars were somewhat captivated by skeptically inclined historical-critical methods. While many Catholic scholars still practice those former methods, there are many (including several people involved in this project) who have gotten out of that rut. They still engage the historical details while fully believing that God is active in history and that Scripture is His Word.

Our actions show whether or not we believe. Work doesn't save us. Thats what Ephesians 2:8&9 literally says. Those are different words in the Greek. Ephesians is talking about a literal payment being made hence work like pay for. James is talking about a proof.

In Acts when they replace Judas with Matthias Peter quotes a Psalm that says "let another one take his office." So if Judas has an ongoing office, why wouldn't Peter?
