So right about Saiki! Sometimes she seems to get over shadowed by the musical onslaught, but she is carrying the melody virtually all the time with her voice ( inflections, phrasing). Screaming as well. Saiki is way dominant in that song as well. ^^ And yeah, Endless Story is the perfect crowd sing-along song especially as the venue gets bigger and bigger.
Kairu Kafuka funny I thought screaming was an “ok” song the first time I listened. But when I saw them perform it as the closing song to their last online concert, omg that song is amazing!!
I love the use of the backing track for this song. It really adds a lot to the *sound*, though it always looks just a little weird when you hear a whole chorus doing the 'oh oh oohs' towards the end of the song. Kanami's lead parts really make this song for me. I like going through it twice (kind of) to point out things. That's cool!
I do kind of wish Miku and Kanami would add backing vocals to that part though, live, as no real crowd ever sings quite as in tune as the crowd "seems to" on this recording.
@@RevStickleback And we know from the acoustic Puzzle/Anemone that Kanami can do it quite well. I guess she doesn't feel confident with it and/or just doesn't want to.
@@williambradley6736 Some fans were turned off because it was dark and spoke out against war and environmental waste. They want the girls to just be pretty and play music and not state their views on world issues.
This was my very first ever band-maid live performance that I've watched. And I literally fell for them even more. And oh, the next song after moratorium is puzzle. Btw, have you checked dreamcatcher's halloween special? It's Boca K-Zombie Version. I think you'll love it. You should also react on that one.
I like the mix on this concert, so STRONG! The spot light solo on Kamani is on of my favorite moments in all of Band Maid's concert videos! Misa, Misa, Misa! Akane is going crazy all thru this song! Siaki and Miku harmonize so well! The Pigeon is irresistible! Awesome song!
Pause and talk all you want. That's why most of us come here. If I want to hear the song without interruption I'll go listen to it. BTW, did you actually miss Miku singing lead for part of the last verse? That's how good the two of them can blend their voices. Even Champ missed it.
I am proud to say that i am a huge fan of this band. one of the things i love most in Band-Maid is that there is not one member that stands out. they all are essential for the band. You don't see that so often. this is so awesome. And last but not least. their talent is totally insane. Love Band-Maid
Great analysis of the song structure, thumbs up. Stay safe out there and get better. If you search around on the internet, there's a really detailed analysis of Kanami's pedal board, and also an advert by the company that makes her wah pedals where she reviews the different models. It's super cute to watch Kanami hock some wah pedals to you.
Hey Man! I am sorry to see you been under the weather. I love your new poster. Great reaction and enjoyed your thoughts throughout the song. I was chuckling with your comments about Miku whispering early on. Will chat at you later and get well soon Champ!
I just might be tearing up because I feel like at 6:20 Kanami is channeling Randy Rhoads. Not JUST there either. Soooo nice to know that legacy is in such good hands.
Kanami For Ever, maybe nobody knows that almost 80% or almost all the songs composed by Kanami on the Piano, including the various passages, a genius, is absolutely one of the most versatile guitarists I've heard, well then MIsa stop Akane not words, Miku idem I love the voice and tone of Saiky ... simply fantastic to see and hear
I decided to go live for the first time in 15 years. Budokan fun! Thank you so much for your fun reaction. By the way, I also like Miku. From an old Rockman from Japan
I have this weird hunch that it might’ve something to do with the phrase “Dilly dally shilly shally” popularised by Tifa in the movie Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children (English dub). That movie has made quite some waves in the Anime/game community since its release, not surprising considering its arguably the most popular one among the massive Final Fantasy franchise. I myself had heard that phrase on popular media for the first time in that movie and well, it was rare and memorable enough that I instantly recalled that even though its been a decade and a half since I last watched it.
Wonderful... take care and it’s nice to see and hear you again. If you ever find time to do it in the future, I hope you’ll have a listen to YOLO. I believe the song title doesn’t do it favors and hence the official video is criminally under-watched. I feel like it is an amazingly-written song. While my favourite band-Maid songs keep revolving, YOLO constantly remains in my top 3-5 all the time.
Miku's whisper is arguably my favorite part of this song! Every time I hear it, I think to myself "you had me at 'breaking new gate'!" I also love the "crowd chanting" bits. Not only for its audience participation moment to connect with the audience, but for it being used to let the tension rebuild after the solo so that last chorus can give you that full-on kick to the gut! Plus it allows the "least metal" aspect of the final crowd chant to become metal with the brutally heavy 16ths on the kick drum that perfectly complements what was, at first a juxtaposition. Kanami is truly a songwriting/arranging goddess!!!
"Cuz why the hell not right? Cuz why not just be fucking awesome for 3 seconds before we continue being awesome?" :) First time watching your channel, reactors that pick their spots to pause and actually vocalize their thoughts are way better than the ones that just watch the vid say it's great and move onto number next, so yeah nice job.
Band-Maid gonna Band-Maid. You should buy their first-ever concert blu-ray, once you're done with the reacts from that February gig. (the concert is the same one from your react vids, but obviously more comprehensive with a more performances not on available on RUclips).
Right at 6:06 is when Kanami's power level maxes out and she gets possessed by the spirit of Dimebag. That breakdown and solo could easily have come off a Pantera album.
You need to check out some of Band-Maid's ballads: Endless Story, Day Dreaming, Anemone, Wonderland (I don't remember if you already did this one or not). I'd also recommend Start Over. It's a pop song, and many fans don't like it simply because it's a pop song. But I think you'll like it. I do.
Just want to say that hands down the best reactor I've watched man. Seriously great explanations, going back to re-listen, etc, just awesome. Normally don't commit on anything but just want to say thanks and keep them coming. Hope all is well.
This song is one of their best! Your facial reactions say it all! Yeah, they are that perfect! Don't stop talking, some of us like to hear musicians break down why the parts sound so interesting and fresh.
Another great review and break down from The Champ. You'll be happy to know that, for me, you ruined all of the other reaction channels. I cannot watch other reactions to Band-Maid anymore after discovering you. Thanks for the great vid and please keep up the great work!
Totally get it man, this is like pure Zeppelin (with just a touch of Sabbath in the breakdown ) and then the singalong, which is pure Band Maid. One of my ( many ) favourites ! Hope your throat gets better soon, great reaction as always !
This is one of my top favorite Band-Maid songs and the one that I think captures almost all of the band's "elements": heavy crunching riffs, explosive bass/drums, melodic catchy chorus, audience sing-along, killer solo/breakdown section... and always with their signature change up for the second verse. Great reaction!
The best musical analysis of their songs! Can't believe you haven't gotten around to Rinne MV. May I also suggest to put on your list, Non-fiction Days, and Glory.
So there's a point just as Kanami's beginning her solo where Miku seems to open up one of her chords (or drops a key or something?) that I just love the sound of. I don't know if it was a mistake or not but it just sounded great and I was wishing she would repeat it... but she doesn't. I really wanted to hear that chord again, lol. The rhythm on the album version of this song is quite different and plays almost as a lead/rhythm.
Thanks for pointing that out. (I should know by now to listen to them on headphones.) I think it's intentional, as she does something different on two repetitions before going back to the usual riff.
Good review & analysis. “Moratorium” is one of my all time favorites. In this performance, at the end, you hear the synth intro to the next song which is “Puzzle” another amazing song that you should hear. Akane’s drumming (pedal work) is amazing.
There is something about the bass sound on the fast parts here that really reminds me of Ace of Spades, Motörhead. It's such a bad-ass sound! Try The Dragon Cries for a real LedZep feel, bluesy, dark, heavy and just amazing!
2017 Shinkiba and 2018 Zepp Tokyo has one of the best mix to react to. At this point Miku has a pretty solid grasp of her rhythm and vocal in the band. Akane and Saiki on both channel...Micho on the right, Miku and MISA killing on the left channel. Some people like to use Miku as the scapegoat... But damn! Her rhythm section builds so much hype to let MISA and Kanami go loose.
Another great reaction to an awesome BM song, I’ve been waiting for you to do this one, now onto Real Existence MV and live, Non Fiction Days, Choose Me...etc!
This live sounds ridiculously good. It's called Band Maid Shinkiba Studio Coast if you wanna look it up elsewhere. There used to be a lot of these videos on youtube but they all got taken down. This is also where the puzzle live video came from. You could hear the synth coming at the end of moratorium as it's the next song.
Great breakdown analysis! You've got to do it for YOLO and Non Fiction Days. What would be great is for you to hear the song once (with only the necessary YT pauses) to get the full impact of the piece... and then a second time with the breakout comments.
I love it when you listen to the song again. That's what I do! Btw, I come back every now and then to rewatch your reaction to Miku whispering "Make up your mind" into the microphone. Never fails to crack me up (in a very, very good way)!
My favorite part of that video is Saiki with both hands raised while the band is going nuts and the crowd is singing like she's summoning the chaos. Also, dunno if you noticed the lead-in at the end, but the next song was Puzzle :)
mannnnnnnn i love your reactions!!!! ive been into kpop since 2009 and now im super into bandmaid. BANDMAID AND KPOP?!?!? bro we could be best friends lol c ould not agree more, miku is no fair!!!!!! i almost fainted the first time with the whispering part. i approve of your wall!!!! my wall has been covered in SNSD posters (you should give them a shot) and bandmaid has been the first exception i've made. hope you do more bandmaid reactions great job
I dont get what the deal was with that. I still haven't found one song of their's that isn't stellar in its own right. Is Start over in my top 10? No, but its still a very good song and I wish they'd incorporate Kanami's piano playing a bit more.
Given that most Band-Maid reactors are metalheads who lean purist, or non-musicians, but Champ actually likes pop, it would be interesting to hear his opinion. IMO it's a solid song, not their best but shows their range...and unfortunately the "story" scenes of the video without the band are total cringe. Although, now having seen it, I *really* want a Champ reaction to the Zepp Tokyo version of "Daydreaming." I think he'll bliss out so hard he levitates.
I agree with the other’s it’s also the same with “Dragon Cries” a lot of fans just want hard rock what’s wrong with showing your range with a Little Rock Blues? And yes more Kanamie on piano please I mean if LOVEBITES and X-Japan can do it right✊🧐
I agree. Just, cut out the shenanigans of the two in the video and it would be great. Also, yes, more Kanami piano, more Kanami backing vocals, more Kanami working the crowd (there is a fan cam video of her taking the mic) and more Kanami going wild by herself.
I've heard comments from some that Miku is not important to Band Maid, I say that's total bull! Miku, being good on the rhythm guitar allows Kamami to be even stronger on the lead guitar! Pigeon Power! Not to mention Miku writes most of the lyrics! Miku and Kanami are a amazing team!
I'd go so far as to say that she's a *great* rhythm guitar player insofar as she's rock-solid (while bouncing around, to boot). From what I've seen, a good sense of time is really hard to develop unless one starts early; probably her limited accordion and piano lessons as a kid laid a foundation, but it's really impressive given that she didn't pick up guitar until 22.
To be perfectly honest when I first started listening to band maid, I was surprised that I WASNT seeing comments that miku was the weak link etc. As a new fan she’s noticeable at the different level than the others from the initial shock value. But the more you learn and watch the band you realize omg it’s not an exaggeration that she IS band maid. As soon as you settle on the fact that ok ok fine she’s super important behind the scenes and being the spokesperson, you realize wait she’s totally holding her own musically. It’s not hyperbole, you can’t be a true band maid fan if you don’t like Miku. So if you do see comments like that, I’m pretty sure that’s an extremely small minority
@@SPERanger It is not very often thankfully, and, as you say, you can't be a Band Maid fan and not just like, but love Miku! Having played at playing guitar I know it's not an easy thing to develop the skills she has! Desire and determination, and having one of the best guitarist in the world, Kanami, mentoring her, the resut is amazing! And Miku will only improve with time!
I used to see a lot of comments bashing Miku, but I honestly haven't heard or seen a comment like that in over a year now, how could they, right? All the haters are eating pigeon now & can't say anything, because she's become that good.
Dude, how can you not be good if you CAN keep up with the powerful trio, Kanami's sudden licks and constant shredding, MISA's versatile and creativity on her basslines and Akane's constant change of tempo & sudden off-beats. Not only that, she plays a consistent rhythm, not missing a beat with all those transitions and tempo changes WHILE singing back-up vocals. I've been a fan of the band since 2014, and Miku has the most growth overall. Plus she's a hardworker, she practices guitar every single day and at longest, she practices 8 hours a day. And oh, did I mention, she mainly writes the lyrics? ^^
Interesting that Kanami's lack of ego allowed her to see the fabulous talent of Akane and Misa and let them feature so heavily in the mix. As composer she has every opportunity to promote herself especially as she constantly riffs between solos but she gives them every opportunity to shine and they repay with fantastic support. Similarly she lets the beloved Saiki stand front and centre while she is always to the side and often in the shadows. Five musicians with god given ability who are prepared to give one another space.
Yo! Another BAND-MAID song! Thanks for another awesome video! As always, I need to comment how much I enjoy/appreciate your analysis/breakdown of their songs. I also really like this video how we basically watched the song twice! :D
Heck yeah!!! That was awesome. Loving the breakdown, you bring so much out that I don't hear until you point it out. I've heard this song hundreds of times and the breakdown makes me appreciate these ladies more and more. Much props, no complaints from here about pausing.
miku ! miku ! miku !, someone had to say it. yea, she's seductive and funny at the sametime, didnt know that was possible. but then again, the whole damn band seduces you , pulls you in, and doesnt let go, even when the set ends. that how you know they're good.
Champ: "I probably won't pause that much cause of my throat" Champ 22 seconds later: Pauses Well you tried your best XD The constant changes in this song, are the reason it's in my top Band Maid songs.
Good review, love how you deconstruct what you're hearing. Please do The Dragon Cries mv.
Second this, a controversial track. One of my 20 or 30 favorites though. (I seriously cannot choose.)
At this point I'm sure he'll do all 30+ of their RUclips videos... eventually
@@cygnetseven why controversial?
@@williambradley6736 Some fans were turned off because it was dark and spoke out against war and environmental waste. They want the girls to just be pretty and play music and not state their views on world issues.
@@cygnetseven Heaven forbid they have an opinion. ;) Thanks for the reply.
Even Champ missed it.
did not notice at all... twice.
Here's the Morely wah pedal advert with Kanami: ruclips.net/video/fXtpdIJfG_8/видео.html
And there's the video with all of Kanami's pedals (lots of delay pedals it looks like) ruclips.net/video/YBhf-PUECtk/видео.html
I've always felt like this is the perfect song to end a concert with. They didn't in this show, but still. I love this song.
Always look forward to your Band-Maid song analysis. 🤘🏽
I realy love how Miku bounces around during this song :)
She bounces more than Tigger!
You gotta choose who you've fallen in love with: Miku, Saiki ou Aimer lol
Love all of your videos!!!
There's 7 days in a week... I still got 4 more.
@@TheChampOfMedium hahaha Fair play man
Did you catch that Saiki kept singing "Don't dilly dally." LOL Not sure where they found that expression. Cracks me up.
Old British music hall song : ruclips.net/video/bALc3o0y5Kc/видео.html
I've always wondered that too lol
I tend to agree with this; I think it's a masterpiece.
Miku's whisper is arguably my favorite part of this song! Every time I hear it, I think to myself "you had me at 'breaking new gate'!"
I also love the "crowd chanting" bits.
Just really enjoy your reviews/reactions. Doing real good work dude, keep it up.
"Cuz why the hell not right? Cuz why not just be fucking awesome for 3 seconds before we continue being awesome?" :)
First time watching your channel, reactors that pick their spots to pause and actually vocalize their thoughts are way better than the ones that just watch the vid say it's great and move onto number next, so yeah nice job.
Band-Maid gonna Band-Maid. You should buy their first-ever concert blu-ray, once you're done with the reacts from that February gig. (the concert is the same one from your react vids, but obviously more comprehensive with a more performances not on available on RUclips).
Great job as usual. I'm impressed with the level of detail you get in every song. Take care with that throat man.
I knew you were gonna like this one. This one and Rinne are their most 'metal' tracks.
I think Fate, Spirit and maybe Screaming are close to metal too!
Don't forget "Clang"
BANDMAID is “Off the charts” AWESOME! They have more individual and collective talent than any other band I have ever heard! UNBELIEVABLE!
Number 1 female rockband in the world
Right at 6:06 is when Kanami's power level maxes out and she gets possessed by the spirit of Dimebag.
MISA !!!!!! MISA!!!!!! MISA!!!!!!! I'm glad you got to review this hard to find song. So good. Awesome, our ladies made your wall of fame. 💯 🎤🎸🎸🎸🥁🇯🇵
This is one of my top favorite Band-Maid songs and the one that I think captures almost all of the band's "elements": heavy crunching riffs, explosive bass/drums, melodic catchy chorus, audience sing-along, killer solo/breakdown section... and always with their signature change up for the second verse. Great reaction!
possibly my favorite song of BAND MAID..and deserves an award for best use of Dilly-Dally in a song
The best musical analysis of their songs! Can't believe you haven't gotten around to Rinne MV. May I also suggest to put on your list, Non-fiction Days, and Glory.
Miku's bottom string sounds loose as hell in the breakdown and I love it.
Absolutely so cool!
I thought the moratorium video was taken down. Glad it is back.
Back again to say I like watching Champ fanboy over BAND-MAID's composition. Always entertaining.
Every time I hear this song I rewind twice to hear Miku's whisper again, Uff I love how it start! Saludos capo!
There is something about the bass sound on the fast parts here that really reminds me of Ace of Spades, Motörhead. It's such a bad-ass sound!
Try The Dragon Cries for a real LedZep feel, bluesy, dark, heavy and just amazing!
I gave you a thumbs up as soon as I saw that sweet poster. kinda jealous of it in fact. :)
saeki's one of the best vocalist i've ever heard live. it's like almost a recording.. her intonation is just so good live
Mikus "Don't Dilly Dally" takes you by surprise, then your hit by that riff and you have no choice, you must love them.
Real Existence Live also has one or 2 good Miku whispers
See if you can react to Matchless Gum and Awkward and Daydreaming from this same show
Nice Moratorium my nambawan favorite! Lols you're having an eargasm with Mika's sexy voice.
That concert (Studio Coast 2017) is heavy rock in its purest form. All the songs... Great reaction
I capped Miku's intro and now it's my ring tone.
All of the YES! Been waiting for you to get to This one. This song punches you in the face in the best way possible. 👍
Missed your Bandmaid breakdowns man! get well soon! looking forward for more Bandmaid reactions!
mannnnnnnn i love your reactions!!!! ive been into kpop since 2009 and now im super into bandmaid. BANDMAID AND KPOP?!?!? bro we could be best friends lol
c ould not agree more, miku is no fair!!!!!! i almost fainted the first time with the whispering part.
i approve of your wall!!!! my wall has been covered in SNSD posters (you should give them a shot) and bandmaid has been the first exception i've made.
hope you do more bandmaid reactions great job
And they performed “Puzzle right after this song.
Nice breakdown. Stuff I never really "heard". Guess I need to watch more of yours.
This maybe an unpopular opinion but you should react to the mv "start over"
I dont get what the deal was with that. I still haven't found one song of their's that isn't stellar in its own right. Is Start over in my top 10? No, but its still a very good song and I wish they'd incorporate Kanami's piano playing a bit more.
Love that song.
Good enthusiastic reaction as usual with the much appreciated break down of the music. Thumbs up! Get well!
Nice. Dude I've been wondering when Band-Maid was gonna get a poster on the wall.
Five musicians with god given ability who are prepared to give one another space.
love this song I always get a Black Sabbath vibe from this one. Great reaction as always. You are one of the best.
My favorite live Band Maid song ever! So good. Better sounding vocals than the album version.
Yo! Another BAND-MAID song! Thanks for another awesome video! As always, I need to comment how much I enjoy/appreciate your analysis/breakdown of their songs. I also really like this video how we basically watched the song twice! :D
I think youtube only has some amateur fancams, but you should check out TIME and/or Rock in Me, both feature Miku as the lead vocals!
The way you do your reactions is absolutely the best informative and that passion you have for band maid is massive and I agree completely thank you
My fav. Song from Band-Maid
Didnt notice certain things until you brought it up, kudos for your analysis and reaction!
Need you to react to YOLO. Need more reactions to this song.
Great reaction. Thanks for sharing musical knowledge with us amateur peons lol. Love the interesting things you notice musically.
If you hear the end again when the synth comes in after the song you might recognize it as the intro to Puzzle. No rest between songs!
Champ: "I probably won't pause that much cause of my throat"
Champ 22 seconds later: Pauses
Well you tried your best XD
The constant changes in this song, are the reason it's in my top Band Maid songs. It flows so well! Speaking of Miku, she actually has a song where it's just her singing titled "Rock in Me". If you want to checkout more of her talent :D
