Your smile says it all. This was the first song of theirs I heard too. I cant believe I had never heard of them. 2 years later I can say I am a dedicated Home Fry and patreon of this group of talented guys. As good as their singing is...they truly are just nice, awesome family men too. They are great live entertainers too. They tour frequently and have great collaborations with other artists. Last Nov. they put out their latest album with 12 original songs written by Tim Foust(bass) or Austin Brown (high tenor). It is wonderful. Enjoy the ride down this rabbit hole.

New subscriber. Great reaction, too! I love it when people discover Home Free. They are a freakishly talented group of fellas! They can make you laugh sometimes, they can make you cry sometimes but they always impress. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Rob Lundquist (glasses and beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, Dive Bar Saints and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful. They have recently released several new songs that you will want to check out. Unchained Melody, Listen to the Music, Brother...the list goes on. To switch it up..try Two Country Singers try singing Opera. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole!

Welcome to Home Free. Yes, they are acapella and they are from the USA...from all over. 2 from Minnesota, 1 from Alabama, 1 from Georgia (Lead singer in this video Austin Brown) and the 5th guy is the bass dude, Tim Foust, originally from Nederland, Texas. They are kinda unique as they lean country but they can perform in many genre's. To distinctly hear their range, perhaps you might want to react to their cover of Boyz2Men's "End of the Road"? It will blow you away I believe.

    Great Reaction!!
The group started in 2001 by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp
They are the only country Aappella group but they can honestly sing any genre and they do
They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular.
Fans of Home Free are known as Home Fries and are very loyal to the guys.
Adam Rupp: Beatboxer Extraordinaire -Tenor can make any sound imaginable (A whole drum kit, harmonicia (his Nomonica we call it )plane flyovers, trains, castanets, bugs ,birds etc).
    Co founder from Mankato Minnesota.
Rob Lundquist :Lead tenor(beard and glasses) very soulful voice from Minneapolis,Minnesota
Tim Foust :Bass (had long dark hair now short with grey ) 5+ octave range can go so low he blows speakers or sky high from Nederland,Texas
Austin.Brown:High Tenor ( Long wavy hair ) voice of an angel from Tifton Georgia.
Adam Chance(Aka Chance):Baritone/Bass deep, rich voice(Does the juice harp in Man Of Constant Sorrow) has short dark hair short beard from Baldwin County,Alabama.Replaced Chris Rupp ( Adams Brother and co founder)in 2016
There is no lead singer they each sing the song ( except Adam the beatboxer) to see who’s voice or voices suits it the best. Adam can sing but he prefers beatboxing to hear him sing listen to How Great Thou Art or ruclips.net/video/Sm1xhYZiSrM/видео.html
They have collaborated with many great singers and legends
    Don McLean:American Pie
    Oak Ridge Boys:Elvira
Kenny Rodgers:Children Go Where I Send Thee
    Billy Gilman:One Voice
    Alabama:Christmas In Dixie
Lee Greenwood/ The United States Air Force Band :God Bless The USA
    Any many more.
They have a very large playlist of covers and Original songs
End of the Road: Boyz 2 Men cover
    When A Loves A Woman
    Road Sweet Road (original)
    Dive Bar Saints (Original)
    Helplessly Hoping (5 part harmony)
    Listen To The Music
    Butts Melody/ Remix ( hilarious)
Mayday(DON’T WATCH TILL YOU ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE GROUP AND THEIR RANGES )
There's not a song that you pick from their 155 + catalog that is bad I haven't found one yet.
They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys.Sorry for the long read

They're certainly not going to get bored working just with one group. And neither will we.

You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.

  • @JoanN63

Home Free is incredible. Everything they do is great. And although they are a Country A-cappela group, they can really sing all genres. They really all have great voices with their own specialties. Even Adam Rupp who started the group with his brother Chris Rupp. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo but also to start other projects with his sister, among others.
Adam Rupp-Beatboxer but is actually an inhuman freaking good mouth artist.
Tim Foust- Deep bass but also as a tenor and everything in between is possible.
Austin Brown-High tenor with his great runs and high notes.
Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses)-Tenor, with a voice like velvet and so much soul.
Adam Chance (back left, who is called Chance) - Baritone/ Bass, a voice so smooth and sexy. And who here also makes the Jaw harp sound.
There is no permanent lead singer in Home Free. They look at every song whose voice suits it best, the best harmony, no egos, no rivalries, great personalities etc. Besides, they can all beatbox (see their live performance 9to5). ..
This is one of the many covers they do in addition to various originals, and each one is just amazing.
Take the time to discover Home Free because it will be a great tour. For me they are number 1 A-Cappella group

You have hit the best a cappella group out there. The first singer is from southern Georgia, the DEEP voice is from TX, the last guy you saw on screen is from southern AL and the beatboxer and guy with glasses are from Minnesota.
The bass guy Tim Foust has been known to break sound systems and make ceiling plaster fall. He has his own channel where you can see his FULL 5+ octave range.
The first singer is Austin Brown. He has a musical theater degree. You should check out his own channel.
Rob Lundquist with the glasses can sing so sweetly...but he also can whistle on tune, rap, sing soulfully and go outright gospel on you.
Adam Chance, goes by Chance, is the last one on screen doing the jaw harp sounds. He has such a rich, smooth voice. He too has his own channel.
Adam Rupp is the beat and any instrument you ask for sound maker. They call him a freak of nature. There are several videos of his drum solos. You should check it out.

  • @lazylady8591

Welcome to the world of acapella and Home Free. Acapella groups are different than most music groups . There is very little competition or massive egos among the different groups. Even when the groups compete, they help and encourage each other.
To get an idea of the acapella world, you might want to check out the videos from The Sing-Off, especially seasons four. The Sing-Off was an NBC acapella competition show. Home Free won season four.. Voiceplay, another acapella group, was a competitor during season four.
The three major acapella groups are Home Free, Pentatonix, and Voiceplay. They were all in The Sing-Off. Pentatonix won season three. Each group has a particular niche. Home Free is called a country acapella group, but they can and do all genres. Pentatonix is more pop/ contemporary. Voiceplay is more theatrical in that they wear costumes and makeup in their videos.
Despite the competition on The Sing-Off, Home Free and Voiceplay became friends. They did a video together after The Sing-Off called Zombies vs. Hillbillies. Don,'t let the title fool you. The groups obviously are having fun but the music is excellent. Home Free also met Pentatonix on the season four finale of The Sing-Off where Pentatonix was the guest performer as the season three winner. Later Avi Kaplan, the Pentatonix bass, performed with Home Free in Ring of Fire.
Home Free has nearly two hundred videos from serious to funny. They are basically down to earth guys who love what they do and enjoy each other's company. They sing all genres. They also collaborate with different artists from the world famous to not so well known . On top that, they also do individual projects outside of Home Free .
The Home Free fans will subscribe for Home Free. They get excited when people discover the group. They will also offer suggestions from Home Free's vast collection of videos and live performances

Hey there. I'm afraid I'm about to go on a rather fanatical rant about THE "Country" a capella quintet called Home Free. What a musical rabbit hole!
They've covered literally everything. Their versions of the classic country standards "Ring of Fire" and "Man of Constant Sorrow" are simply iconic and not to be missed. Then, in a very strange twist for me I'm probably most blown away by their country Chistian renditions of "How Great Thou Art" (which actually makes me cry) and "Amazing Grace". Both of which are equally iconic, the best I've ever heard.
Then there is Christmas! Gees, they do "O Holy Night" and "Angel's We Have Heard on High" so well it just makes you want to grin. Then they embrace social justice topics with brilliant instincts in "In the Blood", "Brothers in Arms", and, "Don't Laugh at Me".
They also do solo and duo side projects....the lead tenor, Austin Brown's voice is just so angelic/sexy that his leads as well as his solo endeavors like "Unchained Melody" (though I still think Bobby Hatfield's can't really be beaten) and "Bring Him Home " are just phenomenal. He has a gloriously gorgeous and diverse array of vocal skills and control.
Then, when you think you've heard it all you find Austin and the "second" tenor Rob Lundquist "try" Opera and simply kill "Nessun Dorma", especially Rod (who's voice is also exceptional), who gives a fair tribute to Pavarotti in his tone and timbre. The bass of the group, Tim Foust, is a true basso profundo, going down to a G1 with a 5 octave range above it!
Not to mention the beatboxer, Adam Rupp, who is beyond awesome (a term I dislike, and rarely use, especially when referring to humans) He is a complete percussion section. He has a "Drum Solo" out which is jaw dropping.
On top of all that, their musicality and vocal orchestrations are quite literally, sublime.
I told you it was going to be a fanatical rant....OMG, I've become a "home fry" (as they call their fans, home fries)....Forgive the rather rambling rant, but, they've been out a long time and have a rather huge song book...quite a pleasant rabbit hole (as they say). Dan

I was BLESSED on the first of this month to see them LIVE! What a GREAT time. When Tim goes low live, my skin was vibrating, almost felt like my chest was under pressure. Home Free calls themselves the world's first and only vocal country band. All sounds made by voices. In this group, the beatboxer is Adam Rupp and it's been said he's a human drum kit (all percussion [and obviously he harmonica sound]) the juice harp (the boing
boing that starts, fills, and ends the video) is from Adam Chase the baritone. The manner this boing boing sounds is more like an Australian Diggery Doo instrument.
    My HF faves are:
    / Man of Constant Sorrow
/ Ring of Fire (w/ Avi Kaplan)
/ American Pie (w/ Don McLean)
/ God Bless the USA (w/ Lee Greenwood & US Air Force band)
    / Sea Shanty Medley
    / Butts Remix
/ Elvira (w/ The Oak Ridge Boys)
In Austin Brown's (tenor no glasses) YT channel, he and Rob Lundquist (bearded tenor) have a go at singing 'Nessun Dorma' opera song.

    Home Free recommendations:
"All About That Bass", "When A Man Loves A Woman", both covers. Also an original, "Champagne Tastes (On a Beer Budget)".

Pentatonix does some good songs, home free do some too. Hell even voice play has their own lane

Bro I never sang before I can nail every part of this except the low F note Tim hits after his solo. Bro your voice can get low could hear it in your review- try to match Tim’s voice over and over- chicks are absolutely amazed when I hit the lows it’s a panty dropper!
